What happens to the loose microphone cable you have placed behind the steering wheel? In the end you just say "Pls use original microphone". I don't get it.
Most EVO cars have OEM microphones, and we recommend that you use OEM microphones. If you don't have a factory microphone, use an external microphone, the one you see behind the steering wheel.
Ok, but is the OEM mic usually connected to the head unit and needs to be connected to the mmi box?
@@hiaslw.4871 The OEM microphone is connected to the OEM host and the MMI box at the same time, so both the original car and the MMI box can use it.
Will it automatically connect to the car Bluetooth? Will the car normal radio work normally or will that need the Bluetooth connection from mmi ?
You need to open the OEM Bluetooth device connection interface the first time you use it, after they are connected successfully. Every time you turn it on in the future, it will connect automatically.

@@ProspectElite It should connect to the phone within 2 minutes of turning on the car. However, the following conditions must be met: Your cell phone's Bluetooth and WIFI must be turned on.
My car is no longer detecting the DCAUDIO bluetooth. Everything else works but the DCAUDIO does not come up on the screen to pair for audio.

@@pempcar I deleted the pairing on my phone and on the car. Turned off the car and restarted my phone. Let the car sleep for a few minutes and then repaired from the beginning like a new install. It is now working again. Thanks guys.

@pempcar the unit keeps freezing up and only way to get it to clear is turning off the car and leaving ot off for like 15 minutes. Any recommendations?

Bmw E60 unit. Wifi rests to off after every start up super annoying (needs wifi for GPS, Google maps and waze Pandora, Spotify, Amazon music) why won't wifi option just remain on even after restart/startup? I can watch the wifi option toggle turn to off in Android Setting right after startup. Why is Bluetooth restricted to phones only no other Bluetooth devices allowed. Bluetooth only works with the phones paired in your communication application, Bluetooth settings is completely blank in Android OS setting. You cannot connect to head phones, ear buds(for kids in back) Bluetooth subwoofer amplifier, external camera, dash camera etc.
It may be that CarPlay or Android auto affects WIFI. Because when using the above functions, pemp will definitely turn off WIFI and turn on the hotspot.
@@pempcarI do not have use carplay or use android auto, phone never gets plugged into pemp head unit. So why do the wifi always turn off even if there is no phone in car? You can watch the settings actually changing in real time in the android setting the toggle goes from ON position to OFF position. I only want to use the wifi connection and that feature turns itself off everytime I start the car. Why can't the kids Bluetooth headphone connect to head unit?
I am not getting audio from my Apple CarPlay and I plugged in the green/black cable.
The sound of CarPlay is transmitted through the Bluetooth of the original car, so you need to use the original Bluetooth to search for DC_AUDIO_BT..., after the connection is successful, you can get the sound.
I appreciated that but it seems like I have to choose the original setting every time. It always starts in car play. Is there any way to change it?@@pempcar

@@pempcar No I want the audio to instantly come out but I have to go to my iPhone and switch sending the audio from CarPlay to the BMW bluetooth

But because bmw evo doesn't have an audio input interface, you can't input the sound signal of the box to the original radio. There is a first AUDIO OUT wire harness on the ISO wire harness, which is the audio output. But oem radios don't have input jacks.
