Dude showed up to court without any documents, because he knows he's shady and made sure there was no paper trail. Looking smug, like "prove it". This isn't the first time he and "his mechanic" have pulled a fast one. Learn this lesson people. Always get paperwork showing everything that's agreed to and never lose your estimates, statements, and(itemized)receipts.
It's the plaintiff's responsibility to prove the reason they are there.
@@adammiller9179 Can't really do that without paperwork, which is my point. What kind of business doesn't have records of bills and payments? His biggest worry is probably the IRS. He doesn't need to worry about being sued, as he doesn't give the suckers anything they can use.
I don’t like how the defendant is smiling when the poor kid is anxious and got effed over by the defendant’s friend ( mechanic ).

The fact that he picked up the phone for the defendant but wouldn't for the plaintiff for a while says all I need to know about these tag team shadiness of the mechanic and the dealer.

Most definately
Ohhhh, that face. That smirk. The defendant definitely has that 'salesman's charm' and has likely done this before 😏
Done what? Sold a car and paid for the repairs? How DARE that man go over and above to help a customer!
I can understand the judge’s frustration when they come to court without appropriate papers . Such a waste of time .
The defendant and his buddy mechanic never gave the boy any paperwork. Hence his mother's involvement in presenting inadmissible paperwork like bank statements and text messages. The dealer did a shady deal and took advantage of the naive boy who wanted that JDM car and ended up trusting both the car dealer and mechanic. The mechanic is avoiding the mother and son, not handing out any solid paperwork and is taking sides with his car dealer buddy. Point to note, the boy took the car and the engine started leaking oil. That motor requires a complete overhaul and rebuild. Maybe he wanted to add an aftermarket exhaust and the defendant pinned everything on that. I once had a "friend" I purchased a bike from. Honda CBR1000RR and I trusted the guy when he said that the bike required a bit of work to stop a tiny amount of oil leaking from the gear shifter. He said his mechanic would fix it in a couple of days and the repair costs would be adjusted in the deal. Little did I know, the engine had seized once, the entire head assembly was twice replaced and later repaired, the head gasket was blown, two cylinders were leaking fuel and the pistons were damaged beyond repair. The project costed me a new engine which was almost the price I had originally paid for the bike. Had the bike repainted because his mechanic accidentally backed his truck into the bike which also broke the visor and headlight and ruined the paint on the fuel tank. It took me over 4 months to get the bike in running condition only to find out that the paperwork and registration documents were only duplicates as the previous owner had misplaced them. Turned out it was a stolen bike and my "friend" was selling the bike for one of his childhood friends. The chassis number didn't match the number on the documents which turned out to be duplicates copies of some fake documents. I learned my lesson the hardest way and I'm glad I was only just 18 back then. Never again will I make a similar mistake, ever!

I worked on cars for 18 years professionally. The cam seal oil leak that the defendant "paid" for should have included at minimum the ENTIRE timing belt job parts/labor included because the oil contaminated the timing belt causing the belt having to be replaced. The mechanic knows this, but is being shady trying to protect the defendant. The judge has absolutely no knowledge of cars, and should have gotten a third party expert in on this case. The plaintiffs, even tho they seem unorganized and not to bright ARE owned money
Judge Judy would have dismissed both cases FOR NO PROOF 😆🤦🏾♀️ #myopinion

I have made big mistakes in my younger days, but past is the past. I was surrounded by predators, I was too kind hearted and thought that the world ressembled my fairytale inside world of peace and love everybody.
I was older but innocent and ignorant when I was divorcing, raising 3 children alone, I was always isolated (new country, learning a new language 3x during my childhood and got married at 17),
Anyway I went to a bank to borrow 10'000 sfr and lend it to someone who whined on my shoulder, saying that he hasn't seen his dad since years and now he needed an urgent heart surgery in France blablabla. Of course I never got paid back and ended up almost dying of hunger every month after paying off the bank during 3 years, raising my kids. I didn't think that I'd never receive child support either. So many dumb mistakes when your surrounding growing up doesn't teach you anything, not prepared for adult responsibilities. Anyway I still made it. No family, no diplomas no car, no nothing but thanks to myself I quickly learned from my mistakes and evolved. Found great jobs (University, state job, hospital job) and in no time built a stable happy home for myself and my children.
I brought that guy to court in the attempt to be paid back the 10 000 sfr, but the witness who cosigned the document I prepared saying that I lent the sum to this person, and another person witnessed that it was true, well she refused to witness in court.. I lost the case. Well I was resilient, and knew that it was my own fault, I should be angry at my own self. Who would refuse 10 000 sfr if an idiot lent it to you this easily?? We drank a coffee together and wished each other good luck and bye 😂 I have no precious energy to waste on hating anyone. To each their Karma.
I could tell the defendant was sketchy from the moment he started speaking. I believe that the plaintiff was scammed by a con man and his sidekick mechanic into buying a trash car. Not only is it sus that they never had real receipts but the mechanic purposefully ignoring therir texts and calls. The defendant knew that this boy and his mom were completely clueless and took advantage of that.
ALL MUSLIMS ARE SKETCHY
Lol the mechanic was definitely lying cuz how do you say that you aren’t in the office so you can’t tell her how much he paid, then magically you have the receipt in your hand 😂
I own a repair shop, and I am often NOT in the office but out in the SHOP. I caught that as soon as he said this on the phone, he said " I am not in my office at the moment" hinting that he was out in the shop area working on cars. He is mostly likely a small independent one or two man shop who also doubles a mechanic himself. Its not out of the question for a Shop Owner to be in the shop while taking phone calls. As he was discussing with the judge the matter, he then walks back to his office to collect the file for the customer, while talking to the judge, he pulls the file, the reciept, and texts it to her when prompted. And its quite normal for small shops to simply write a list of parts and labor items on a piece of paper quickly itemizing what is being done, by evidence of the text, the judge had the information she needed, and the plaintiff confirmed the information was correct. If anyone was lieing here, it was the plaintiff.

When you're going to appear in court, do your homework. Have your papers ready and be organized. Get detailed receipts when needed.
The fact that it seems a bunch of systems went wrong soon after the sale tells me everything - that mechanic did 'just enough' to get it to pass inspection, and the seller & mechanic both knew the car was a lemon... but legally, the law is on their side, because they drew this out long-enough to not be covered by the warranty any longer. And if you don't think mechanics do squirrely crap to get a car working a little longer, try looking up putting oatmeal in your rearend (NO, not on a pron site LOL).

Why does Judge Milian continuously scream at the plaintiff and interrupt him right after asking questions? She can see that he’s nervous. That’s just going to make him even more nervous. HIs expressions tell me he is worn down by the amount of time this ordeal has gone on all all cause the idiot customer did everything wrong, or failed to listen to his advice.
The judge was definitely wrong in this case ... remember to stay safe and stay blessed
How could she rule in his favor without any evidence??? Come on now, you know how this works
The same situation happened to my neighbor across the street. They bought a car from someone they loosely knew for their kid but after a few weeks it ended up needing a new transmission or something. They can't really blame the seller, he offered no warranty. My neighbor checked it out personally and purchased it anyway. It was pure as-is and the caveat emptor principle was applied. And given the make and model of car they bought they should have done more research into its well-known problems . . .
Poor plaintiff looks like he's ready to pee his pants.
Sometimes I wonder if litigants (and often intelligent, educated people) think they don't have to provide evidence to back up their claims because it's "not a real court," either because it's small claims or it's on TV.
He came with his mommy, he is 22
I know. It's so annoying when people come to court, and not be prepared with statements verifying what they're saying. In this case, they're lucky that the judge bothered to even call the mechanic to find out who payed for what, and what was fixed.
@@BCNeil still just a "boy"

I agree ... I think despite this being small claims and TV, they should still take it seriously, especially when they are suing someone.
The plaintiff has the burden of proof ... sure, the defendant can make a claim that he paid for everything he was supposed to when the plaintiff had no proof, because that's really what the judge wanted.
It's also mind boggling when people show up to small claims without any paperwork ... they don't form their case at all. I feel bad for both the son and the mother. They don't know what they don't know. @@bojaxsun the kid aswell when he said the o2 sensor needed to be changed to fix the oil leak lmao 🤣.. like your a guy u should know a bit about cars atleast how to do your oil changes and brake pads is a good start saves money aswell...
@@bojaxsun so what, most judges do not, thats why they treat the SHOP OWNER as the expert, it is very tough to win a legal case in a court room where you sue a Repair Shop or Dealership. Cause they are experts in their field, and you the customer need to show burden of proof they intended to do you wrong. That Judge will take their comments as fact at all times.
And its true - in order to access the EGR TUBE - you have to pull the engine from the car, cause its tucked down beneath the fire wall. It would have been a waste of time for the mechanic, and costly to pull that engine for a Measurement. I would have told the customer to go to a junk yard and locate a good used EGR TUBE, if they are even available, cause they are known to fail, mostly cause they rust, get contaminated from dirt, crud, oil, and carbon.
I cannot find where the Dealer nor the shop did anything wrong, other than try to help a customer...
When did she say that?
That car dealer is a slimy git! The poor young kid is blinded by inexperience
I thought the mechanic said he wasn’t in the office and all of a sudden he’s got the guy’s receipts on hand and reading off numbers.
doesn't the judge know how EASY it is for this guy to get it to pass inspection with his mechanic in each others pocket?
What? You are not to smart. the Dealer did everything right here, he most likely advised the buyer to register the vehicle prior to doign the exhaust work which did NOT have to be done, but the buyer was dumb and young and did it anyway. IT was the EXHAUST work that led to the car failing a secondary inspection. NOT the fault fo the dealer.
1. The defendant is so fine. And he looks like he smells good.
2. I think he's a con man and has something going with Sonny.
I’m saying his face is perfectly sculpted. His hair is clearly styled to disguise thinning but still. I can acknowledge a handsome man.
My thoughts exactly!!! Out of this world fine 😂
@@SAWITHANTHONYGUZMAN They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore
OH! What good mother's go through to stand by their children, and some don't even appreciate the effort. Show us the way Oooooo Lord.
Blahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is so frustrating to watch. No one’s ready for court. No receipts. The car dealer says “so” everytime he starts talking so that means he’s lying.
I sure hope you’re not a judge if you use the fact that somebody says “so” at the beginning of a sentence to determine whether they’re being truthful.
@@nunyabiznes3901 it’s a sign of stammering to remember the facts.
You can tell the guy and the mechanic did business shady. However, I think the kids mom went in wilfully ignorant to legalities.
Judge killed it on this case.
Never buy a damn car with check engine light on no matter what….period!
That mom just digging and digging 🤣
I'm so glad I drive a 73-year-old truck. No smog no seatbelts no inspection cheap insurance and registration.
Dude, this narrator/announcer is absolutely REDICULIOUS! By far one of the most over the top I've ever heard
Asad looks like the lead actor on the FOX Series television 📺 sitcom "LUCIFER"⁉️🤔🤭😂
He does look "wickedly enchanting"
Tom Ellis
"You can easily find out, by observing both Mom and Son's behavior, how unorganized their lives are."
The judge missed this one all the way around! Her lack of knowledge failed to help a citizen done wrong.
Yes true indeed I was getting so mad at the judge because she was missing all the key points here
She can't do anything about it if none of them brought proper evidence.
She can't do anything without proof, she was a legit judge she knows the law
The key points had no proof even if she wanted to be fair she has to go by the law
Nope. Unfortunately the plaintiff didn't have evidence. Courts, even the TV courts which are arbitrators, work on evidence.
I don’t trust the defendant and the mechanic for some reason 😅
Me neither
I was waiting on someone else to peep that out!! 😂🤣 #Shady
Both are🌳🙄and took advantage of that boy he's kinda behind clearly!!
Yeah, something about that little smile on the defendant's face made him seem condescending toward the judge. I felt like he didn't respect her and was talking (without talking) in "man-tones" to her with just that smirk.
because defendant made me cream my pants
Idk, I'd think a 22 year old should have enough sense to ask for an actual receipt for work that was done on a car. But then all again all parties seem to be clueless, and the defendant comes across to me as a bit smarmy.
She's my favorite judge as in fairness. Judge Judy, Mathis & Joe are pretty good also.
“Oooohhhhh, yea your gonna have to get that on your own”😂😂
Excuse me...
I lost my reading glasses...
now is that a hat that the plaintiff is wearing?
😂😂😂😂😂
Sadly no
@@stephaniehowe0973 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😩😩😩
I came to see if this comment was already here before I wrote it myself 😳🤗
Honestly thought and was going to ask the same thing!!
That EGR tube is available. Doesn't need to be made. If nothing else they can get it off a junkyard engine.
Exactly! There’s a dozen stores on eBay that they could order one from.
I adore Judge Millian. It's evident that she is invested in this case as she understands the struggles of a mother protecting her children who may be unaware of certain things. She truly exceeded expectations. I'm hopeful for this young man.
When buying a used car, it's best to take the car to a mechanic of your choice and not a mechanic the dealer recommends.
Amen. I actually used the dealership for the last two purchases to give the car the once-over because they are the experts. It has paid off both times, although I was still inside the state-mandated lemon law warranty and could walk away if necessary. Don’t go to the independent mechanic before you go to the dealership for inspection because that’s also where you find out about recalls on the vehicle. That’s critical information for the buyer. Just my two cents.
If the cam seals were replaced… then another oil leak occurred above the cam… THAT WOULD BE THE FAULT OF THE THE MECHANIC WHO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER for the cam seal repair.
