For any type of Eromba we use to make it with potato but for bamboo stem (lafu) eromba we used to make it with mattar dal( the round one)

I love eromba so much, I don't think it's a chutney - I use it as the main dish with rice!
    Nice recipe.

Looks like a new kitchen😁Please add dry peas ( after soaking and then boil together). A little bit of gravy goes well too. Garnishing with fish mint, spring onion and corriender is next level. 😘😘😘 I always enjoy your shows.

I got one more recipe for you...my manipuri naga friends use to cook chicken this way.... Heat up some oil(1/4th cup around), 2 onions finely chopped, then good amount of crushed garlic(1to 1.5 whole bulb) and some ginger(1/1.5 inch), sauté it. Then fry it for while untill color changes, then put 1/1.5 teaspoon of haldi powder. Then put 2 chopped tomatoes, and then, 1 kg chicken. After some time put green chillies....(potatoes are optional) Then put chilli powder and salt according to need, and turmeric, if needed and also if you could find some "machal powder" then it would be more tastier or else add half-half teaspoon of coriander and cumin powder.(Do not add water) cover and cook at low flame and it's done. We had it with rice and boiled green leaves.
There is another recipe of boiled chicken with some ginger from my kuki friend. You'll get some soup as well as the chicken could be used for frying or just as salad or it is best with some salt and chilli powder.

Nice becky, you can put the semi outer covering also( removing the outermost hard part) if it is soft. Normally banana we got back at home is soft. Also put dry king chilly or red chillies inside the small tiffin of ngari if you want the color of eromba to be red. Happy cooking😊
