- The incident that happened between Miami and FIU in 2006, is one of the most infamous moments in college football history. It was total chaos... and it would end in 31 suspensions, a broadcaster being fired, and a moment of pure chaos that no one will forget.

This was the year that Miami's status as one of college football's blue-bloods died. Their slide actually began a couple years earlier, but it was by 2006 that it became clear that it wasn't merely a brief rough patch between national championships. The dynasty was over.
To make matters worse, the guys went to a party that night and were left outside as the Dolphin and Marlins players were allowed in.
As a nebraska fan this resonates in my soul 🤣
Their "Dynasty" died in the Sugar Bowl in 92 when Alabama thumped them 34-13.
They haven't recovered since.
@@johngardner1290You were apparently in a coma in the early 2000s when The Ohio State officially ended the Canes Dynasty.
The PI call was bogus.
that 2006 Miami team (and just Miami football from that era in general) was freakin' crazy, and not in a good way. In addition to everything he talks about in this video, Miami also saw one of their own players (Bryan Pata) get murdered during the season. The case was long unsolved but, 15 yrs later, they figured out that it was ONE OF HIS OWN MIAMI TEAMMATES who'd murdered him. Just absolute insanity.

And ironically, until Howard Schnellenberger came around, they were a lily white ivy League of Florida program, lol.
Those late 80s Notre Dame teams were even more violent. Lou Holtz sold the program's soul and integrity bringing in criminals and prop 48 failures for one national title which they wouldn't have even won if not for some help from the refs in South Bend.
