  • A family in Chesterfield Township, Macomb County, narrowly escaped serious injury after a firework ignited a shed and spread to their home, causing significant damage to the garage, roof, and second floor. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on July 4, just two months after the family had moved in and furnished the house. A firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, and neighbors helped ensure no one else was hurt. The fire department believes the house can be restored despite the extensive damage.

      Uh, that's an untruth.
Unless there is a specific exclusion, the standard HO3 (and all fire and homeowners standard contracts) contract has no exclusion for fireworks where they are legal.
They do for acts of war and missiles and such....this does not qualify for that. I was an insurance agent for quite a while...before I got tired of feeling dirty and went into IT.
Now whoever set it off, if not the homeowner, is in for a possible world of hurt as said insurance company will subrogate for damages.
