Great idea on grinding the spacer. But the measuring part... If you use the bottom of the caliper there will drop a bar when you extend the caliper. You can use that for measuring depth without guessing. :)

why does the throttle go through the linkage? can it not go directly to the actual carb? seems like its pulling in the right direction, and would remove a couple of possible points of failure.... and out of curiosity what's happened with your old racing mower? might be interested unless its totally trashed 😁😁

The linkage arm is longer on one side, so it looks like the pedal alone doesn't have as much travel as the carb needs
