    When you talking about 2 weapon fighting you said they must be finesse weapons but actually they must be light weapons. Finesse just lets you choose between STR and DEX for the attack mod. Daggers are both light and finesse however.

      @HowtoRPG  Před 5 lety +7

      I had meant to say light weapons, just an slip of the tongue. Light Finesse weapons are the best option for a two weapon fighting Rogue. Shame I did not remember to point it out in the live stream.

    The rogue doesn't actually have to have an ally within 5 feet of the target to get a sneak attack. The target just needs to have an enemy within 5 feet of it.

    • @HowtoRPG
      @HowtoRPG  Před 2 lety

      That is not true. Check the sneak attack entry.

      @@HowtoRPG I did. The rogue doesn't need advantage if the target has an enemy within 5 feet of it and the enemy isn't incapacitated etc. So if I came across a battle between hobgoblins and orcs, I could sneak attack, even though I'm not allied with either side.

      @@HowtoRPG not OP, but the text literally says "you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction" and "You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it"
      For a rogue to use sneak attack without having advantage, the target he's hitting must be distracted with an enemy, and that enemy is not necessarily an ally of the rogue, it just needs to be an "enemy of the target within 5 feet of it".

    I've just started a campaign as a human rogue (my very first DnD experience). Would you suggest using a rapier and open hand or duel wield weapons! Thanks alot for your video, it helped alot. My DM just ran me thru a quick combat scenario on our session zero, and I got my first (and second) kill and it was exhilarating, a couple of Bullywugs felt the wrath of my rapier.
