    Hey! Guess what. You're Awesome and thanks for watching. I promise this is the best DND tutorial based on a 30 year old Jeff Foxworthy joke you'll ever see. Stick around for more and vote in the comments for which subclass you'd like to next.
    I am very tired and don't really know what to put here. If you haven't seen the Mask of Zorro it is one of my favorite movies and it's basically all you need to know to play this subclass. So... watch it. It be good.

      @@woutvanostaden1299paladins dont need dex and rogues dont need strength so the multiclass is inherently wasting some points, it is decent despite this though.

    • @woutvanostaden1299
      @woutvanostaden1299 Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@textoffender3410 Having "some dex" doesn't hurt a paladin. Afterall there are plenty of paladin builds builds that use shields, making shield master better (though inferior to rogues evasion) for this dex is needed. Besides I hate the "clunky paladin" that ruins stealth for the party stereotype. Strength rogues are, while harder to build, vary decent and so combining it with paladin, in the case of swasbuckler or a very lucky arcane trickster statwise, is really not that crazy in my opinion.

    • @DParkerNunya
      @DParkerNunya Před 4 měsíci +2

      @woutvanostaden1299 You only need a plus one in either stat to multiclass, which has never hurt anyone. Sneak Attack only requires a Finesse or Ranged Weapon, which means you can use a rapier with strength and be fine, and a Dex based paladin is a very easy thing to build, so you can even stick to Dex. Swashbuckler Rogues are also less likely to be the sneaky types, which means investing in Strength over Dex is much safer for party function. Don't shut down a fun multiclass idea just because it takes the barest effort to make it work. Either ditch the plate mail and go sword and board, or be a knight using a rapier. Both of these can be done and are incredibly fun.

    Playing a Swashbuckler/Hexblade. What do you all think I should call him? Hexbuckler or Swashblade? Also; can Panache be used against multiple targets simmul... simultain.... at the same time? I've read the description and it isn't definitive. I want to use it while I'm using the spell "Enthrall".

    • @theuncalledfor
      @theuncalledfor Před rokem +2

      The wording of Panache only uses singular. Features and spells that can be used against multiple targets simultaneously tend to say so explicitly. Panache can therefore only be used against one target at a time.
      Also, please do not cast Enthrall during combat (unless other party members are using stealth mid-combat for some reason, like they're other Rogues, or Rangers, for example). Enthrall only affects Perception checks, and you do not need to roll Perception checks in combat unless someone is using the Hide Action. It seems odd for a Rogue to cast Enthrall, as one would expect the Rogue to be the one to go into hiding while someone else acts as a distraction. Also be aware that Enthrall has a verbal component, so it's not really possible to cast it without someone noticing you're casting a spell.

    • @stevenwhitehead8468
      @stevenwhitehead8468 Před rokem +1

      Panache isn't a spell. It's a class feature. I agree that making multiple skill checks would be inappropriate, but making one persuasion check vs. a roomful of people making insight(?) checks to resist should be fine. Also, Enthrall is for stealth and non-combat situations like when distraction is a thing.@@theuncalledfor

      Yes, exactly. Don't cast Enthrall _in combat_ because that's not what it's for.
      It kinda shoots itself in the foot by having a verbal component, though.
      Then again it says something about a string of words, I guess that could be interpreted as a spell that can hide in plain sight, as in a conversation? Hmm...

All cant means is slang and colloquial; different places use it while others don't

Pairing panache (a built in taunt) with rage (flavored to be a battle trance, locked in fully in tune with the fight) means the rogue has the survivability it needs to be in melee, and it’s way more fun to have danger sense with evasion

    Why the barbarian hates the Swashbuckler.
    Cause every time it seemed a fight was about to start... the swashbucklers panache... and expertise in ever CHA based skill allows him to easily talk their way out of it.
    The barbarian is really wanting to hit something... mainly the swashbuckler... but somehow... he's to dang charming to hit.

    There is a severe lack of a yu-gi-oh joke for the master duelist section, but otherwise a wonderful video!
    Also as per my comment in the previous video you did not use any clips from Tinkerbell Pirate Fairy. For shame, sir. For shame.

    Anyone thought about taking two levels in Barbarian for that Reckless attack? I mean the Level 18 passive grants you automatic advantage negation against you. You pretty much get advantage on all your attacks for free.

    i want to play one of these so badly, but anytime i roll up a new character for a new group either: a) we already have a rogue and are lacking something crucial (like a healer or a frontliner) OR...no actually its just that.

    Im gonna punch myself in the face for this, but... Judge Holden from Blood Meridian would definetly have classed as a swashbuckler.
