  • held every Thanksgiving at the Daytona International Speedway, the Turkey Rod Show featured some of the coolest pro street, blown (supercharged) cars I've ever seen. They could be heard miles away and looked as good as they sounded.

I really wish I would have gotten some videos of them after the sun went down. You'd hear them bombing around town past midnight or later. They were so cool to see! I'm exciting to bring my twin-supercharged Studebaker down one year, except the blowers are under the hood...

Florida going hard. Great to see this. Very nice cars. And a lot of them. I've been around hot rods since I was a little kid. I've had a few good ones that I built myself on a very low budget which made it all the more fun when I would go out and race whoever I could . My first car going back to 1980. Was a 66 Chevelle original 283 car. Bought it when I was 14 years old and put every penny I had into it for 2 years until I got my driver's license. The end result was a 396 375HP 4 bolt main . Crane Cam ,a tweaked Quadrajet, Turbo 400 with a 3500 rpm stall, 373 12 bolt GM rear. Traction bars. And a set of Cheetah Slicks. Lmfao. The car was in red oxide primer, and sounded evil. And looked like it sounded. And believe it or not. It ran even better. My first race was on the street . Quarter mile. Against a really beautiful 67 Chevelle with a 454 LS6 big dollar motor with all the bells and whistles. Before we raced him and his buddy were looking at my car and laughing and joking about it and they were trying to get me to run for money. I didn't think I had a chance Against this guy's car. So I said no. But if you wanna run. Let's go have some fun. I pulled out of the burger King and they followed me. I was with 2 of my friends who just happened to be the best mechanics around and earlier in the day they both spent like 3 hours fine tuning my car and we put moth balls in the fuel tank ( napar) I don't know exactly what they did. But my car was running like I couldn't believe. And it was amazing. Anyway. We lined up to race. And I beat that LS6 by about 3 car lengths and he threw a spun a rod bearing trying to catch me. Man were they pissed. Time for me to put another car together and have some fun.

It was cool to see! I just bought a twin supercharged Studebaker and was worried who'd work on it. After seeing this display of muscle, my fears are unfounded! So cool to see!! Some serious stuff there
