I like the HDC from the discovery... But you have to know how to use it... First toyota just left the Terrain Response in general mode but the prado in Rock mode. If you are going to compare vehicles then compare them fairly.
Hill decent control is common and land rover always shows off with some shity offroading land cruiser and prado have the ability to kill hummer and what is discovery infront of them HDC is very common thing crawl control is very rare it's only seen in toyota cars

Automatic transmission from Toyota are pretty solid build and last a long if serviced properly. On 150 oil change every 80k km and it would last forever.
Thaws SUV's are only good of some soft off roading because they are very vulnerable with thaws electronic and crossing mud and deep water with thaws SUV's will end really bad
Driven properly without Revs & using tyre pressure & tread properly they are sufficient to get to anywhere a older 4wd can go within the Specs of Normal insurance coverage
