    This era had some of the best sounding engines, you could really sense the character of the engine with the cam being mounted at eye level compared to when they switched it up to the air scoop, like the screeching howl of a mechanical monster compared to a buzzing bee going from flower to flower in a happy meadow

      His first ever piece of commentary was at Spa 1989, he crashed out of the race and came into the commentary box to commentate with Murray. I don't know where James Hunt was. Then in 1997 he officialy became a full time commentator because everyone saw that he was a good commentator in 1989.

      Anos antes, em 1987 o também tricampeão Nelson Piquet bateu no mesmo lugar na Tamburello, também de carro Williams.
      A ''sorte'' do Piquet foi que girou e bateu de traseira com uma velocidade já menor do que a de Senna em 94, o Piquet ficou internado uns dias, mas conseguiu voltar a tempo de ganhar o campeonato, porém, ele disse que jamais foi o mesmo, pois o acidente danificou um pouco da sua visão e uns 4 anos depois se despediu da F1. O Michele Alboreto bateu na Tamburello de forma parecida com a de Senna, mas não sei quanto era sua velocidade, o Patrese bateu ali também.
      E em 1989, o Berger também bateu nessa curva, sua Ferrari rapidamente ficou coberta de chamas, ele se queimou mas conseguiu escapar da morte. Esses caras devem ter conseguido desacelerar mais os carros, e bater mais de lado. Já o Senna não teve essa sorte, pois suspeita-se que a barra emendada com 'solda' da direção de sua Williams, teria quebrado fazendo o piloto perder o comando do carro batendo forte e frontalmente. Inclusive, a justiça italiana decretou que este foi o fator que desencadeou o acidente.

    • @nvstewart
      @nvstewart Před 3 lety +10

      Senna would of won in 1994 too. The Williams at the start of '94 was terrible yet Senna had 3 poles in 3 races. It was a very difficult to drive car which is why Senna spun in the last corner in Brazil. At the Pacific GP at TI Aida both Senna and Hill spun in the same corner in practice/qualifying and both drivers were puzzled as to why and there was no reason it should have, it just spun for no reason and was impossible to save. The Williams had a very small window for the car setup to work and so was very easy for the car's rear grip to just let go with no warning. In Imola in '94 Senna stated that Williams is working on a new front wing which will make the handling better and give a larger window for the car setup to work.
      From the French GP onwards Hills pace increased including his overall race pace too so one can only imagine what Senna could of got out of the Williams.
