I am 72:now and live in North Queensland Australia, but i remember well like yesterday those rainy Sunday afternoons in the very early 60s on Swindon Station train spotting, my favourites were the Castles and the Halls and the Maybach diesels but those are another story😂 Loved the Casles and Halls, not as big as your A3 and 4s on the LNER etc but mean and powerful! Not to be messed with! 😂 So glad i was around to witness those when they were in full on service But so wonderful to see their preservation, Thankyou to All Concerned! It seems he was content to leave it that way and outdrive all of his cars, but he may have had too much skill to be the force behind development, because the teams, or at least his engineers, could rest on his laurels.
