This song belongs to the true story, of the Cannibal from Rothenburg in Germany. The victim did really eat parts of his own. Strange things sometimes happen. Thx for reaction.

Yes. Mr Food basically found his chef on the internet on some forum. Mr Food left wife and children, packed a bag and went to see his new friend. Apparently they met up, had a long walk discussing their dinner plans and continued pretty much as in the song. I guess eating once own crown jewels, was a question of how hard is it to amputate anything without killing its owner (on lack of a medical expertise and sanitary environment).

Rammstein is awesome whether you understand them or not, americanizing the lyrics takes away from the sound and awesomeness of the music

    • @AgeofJP
      @AgeofJP Před 2 lety +8

@@richardknight8986 no it really doesn't...it literally just adds to it. As a german who is fluent in english I can confirm that the lyrics videos the comment is referring to are not "americanized" and are in fact almost literal translations.
And I'm not sure but it seems you just really really like industrial metal, because Rammstein without their poetic lyrics is mostly just that...I mean if you really like beef with bread, you can buy a cheeseburger and remove all the extra ingedients. But then don't go in a comment section of a cheeseburger review and tell them you figured out that the cheese takes away from the flavour...

@@MMID303 the poetry of earlier Rammstein works has definitely been lost. In the German language there are no bands with lyrics such as Cannibal Corpse or IA. That would also be almost unthinkable. The lyrics by Till solo or Rammstein were always blatant in earlier years, but in a very lyrical language. These days they're still elaborate but very, very raw. Basically the same development as society everywhere.

The album version of Mein Teil is more disturbing than the live version. Both are entertaining but the album version sounds more menacing. It's like Puppe where the album version is far more harrowing than the live. The video, for me, is about the fracturing of the human mind and then the fight amongst all the parts. It's disturbing yet fascinating and entertaining all the way through. Shout out to Frau Schneider who makes for a fine looking woman. There is an alternative version of this video where Till and the angel's roles are reversed as well. Makes for interesting viewing!

Fun fact, germany already produced a song about a real life cannibal case in germany. Fritz Haarmann, killed many young men and boys, ate them partialy, and it's rumored he sold even the meat, though the latter was never proven. It's called _Haarmann mit dem Hackebeilchen (Haarmann with the meat cleaver)._ Though, that song sounds much more...lightly and funny. And quite some of the originals grimm fairy tales contains cannibalism. You could say, we germans have a unique taste. ;)

    English lyrics
    [Intro]
“Looking for a well-built 18 to 30-year-old to be slaughtered”
    The Master Butcher
    [Verse 1]
Today I will meet a gentleman
He likes me so much he could eat me up
Soft parts and even hard ones
    Are on the menu
    [Pre-Chorus]
Because you are what you eat
And you know what it is
    [Chorus]
It is my part - no
    My part - no
There that's my part - no
    My part - no
    [Verse 2]
The dull blade good and proper
I'm bleeding heavily and feeling sick
Although I have to fight to stay awake
I keep eating while in convulsions
    [Bridge]
    It's just so well seasoned
    And so nicely flambéed
And so lovingly served on porcelain
And with it, a good wine
    And gentle candlelight
    Yeah I'll take my time
You've got to have some culture
    [Pre-Chorus]
Because you are what you eat
And you know what it is
    [Chorus]
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
Yes it's my part - no
    [Verse 3]
A cry will ascend to heaven
It will cut through hosts of angels
    Feather-flesh will shriekingly fall
From the top of the clouds onto my childhood
    [Chorus]
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
Yes it's my part - no
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
Yes it's my part - no

all band members were allowed to decide for themselves what they did. which felt good about this song. And didn”t know About Each other. And yeah, the video seems to be each member going to their 'psychotic breakdown crazy place/happy place.' Hell of a way to call Mr Cannibal crazy, by equating his atrocity to your own absolute worst impulse in any possible existence.
I think my own 'scene' in this would've been a 6ft full-colour sculpture of my face and me just smashing it into a million pieces with two steel pipes. Ending with driving the pipes into the statue's soft eyes.

    Hello
The song is inspired by the case of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes. In March 2001, in Rotenburg an der Fulda, the two men aged in their 40s met each other, cut off and cooked Brandes' penis and consumed it together. Afterwards, Meiwes killed Brandes - with Brandes' permission - and ate his remains. As a result, Meiwes was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail for manslaughter, but was later charged with murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. According to bassist Oliver "Ollie" Riedel, the song came about after "one of our members brought a newspaper to rehearsal and it had a story about the cannibal guy in it. We were fascinated, shocked and amused at the same time". Vocalist Till Lindemann stated, "It is so sick that it becomes fascinating and there just has to be a song about it".[2] A prominent phrase in the song is "... denn du bist, was du isst, und ihr wisst, was es ist" ("Because you are what you eat, and you (pl.) know what it is").
Best version here is Hurricane festival 2013
Hope you like these informations!Looking forward for more great Rammstein reactions
    Greetings from Germany,Rainer

    Heute treff' ich einen Herrn
Der hat mich zum Fressen gern
    Weiche Teile und auch harte
    Stehen auf der Speisekarte
Denn du bist was du isst
Und ihr wisst was es ist
    Es ist mein Teil (Nein)
    Mein Teil (Nein)
Denn das ist Mein Teil (Nein)
    Mein Teil (Nein)
Denn du bist was du isst
Und ihr wisst was es ist
    Es ist mein Teil (Nein)
    Mein Teil (Nein)
Denn das ist Mein Teil (Nein)
    Yes it's Mein Teil (Nein)
Ein Schrei wird zum Himmel fahren
    Schneidet sich durch Engelsscharen
    Vom Wolkendach fällt Federfleisch
    Auf meine Kindheit mit Gekreisch
    Es ist Mein Teil (Nein)
    Mein Teil (Nein)

Each of the Rammstein members plays one of the different parts of Armin Meiwes' character in the video
Schneider plays the dominant part of the mother
The text is (partly) written from the point of view of the voluntary victim
By the way, I find this person really very sick, in contrast to the perpetrator whose only wish was to have a friend with him out of loneliness.
Many of the things and cruelties came only from the victim's wish, who demanded other things from Meiwes in his wish to disappear without a trace.
Meiwes, on the other hand, only wanted to fight his feelings of loneliness and bowed to Brandes' wishes.
Meiwes' problems were based on the loss of his father and his dominant overmother.

Inspiration: Armin Meiwes, the cannibal of Rotemburg, he is german. Another true crime music. Incredible video and the song is like the killer singing it, that is because Till Lindemann sounds too scary, his natural voice is scary, more this vocal effects, it's more scary xd In the song you can here screams, this represent the victim. The band members in the end in 4 foot, is for represent the bestiality of the cannibal. The droomer, Christoph Schneider, dresed like a blonde old lady, that lady is the mother of the killer, she was a dominant woman with her son, Armin, he killed just after his mother died. Eating a p3nis was his sexual fantasy. In this song Rammstein does a reference to the chilhood of Armin Meiwes. P. D. I'm sorry for my english, peace guys :)

If I remember correctly they ate the penis because he thought it would be a very tender part and the only problem is that they overcooked it and couldn’t even eat it afterwards.
Still a totally insane story I remember when I first heard about it and later on when I got into Rammstein and found out about the song they said they did it because they read about it in the paper and just felt like they had to write some thing about it.

The cannibal who the song is about, Armin Meiwes, always wanted to have a brother. All he had was a half-brother. Armin wanted to eat someone so they would always be with him and never leave him. When he was young, his dad left the house one day and never came back. So it was Armin and his domineering, demanding mother Waltraud (who Schneider plays in the music video). Armin eventually found this cannibal chat forum on the internet called "Cannibal Cafe". You can still see the conversations that Armin had with his willing victim Bernd Brandes.
This next part is extremely graphic, so READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. Eventually Bernd took the train to the closest station to Armin’s 16,000 square foot mansion. That had 36 bedrooms. They had sex, and eventually Bernd told Armin to bite his dick off. Obviously you can’t do that. So Bernd took 20 sleeping pills and Armin did it. Eventually Bernd told Armin to run him a bath. Eventually Bernd started going in and out of consciousness, and then collapsed and never regained consciousness. Armin didn’t know what to do, eventually he killed Bernd.
Armin spent the next months eating Bernd. Eventually Armin was discovered when he went looking on Cannibal Cafe for another person to kill and eat. The person who Armin was corresponding with contacted the Police when Armin told him that he had killed and eaten someone.
Armin was arrested and sentenced to 8 and a half years in prison for manslaughter. Eventually a court in Frankfurt, Germany overturned the verdict and resentenced Armin to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole for murder. Because everything that happened was filmed by Armin, and it was discovered that Bernd was still alive before Armin killed him. Recently Armin was granted permission to go on day trips to the city where the prison he is housed in is located. He wears a disguise so people don’t recognize him.

Allthough the video is from somewhen past 2000 you can tell the producers weren't over the 90s style yet. Look at the constant (90s) flashlights throughout the whole thing.

1:29 As far as I remember, the victim wanted him to bite and rip it off. As he was to weak to do so they cut it off instead. That's IMHO also the explanation for the scenes of the angel. To answer the spleen-question: They planned that the victim wouldn't survive. The cannibal later froze the meat for future meals and burried the bones in his garden.

Pretty accurate guess concerning the taste of the feathers; in the making off video for this one, Zoran Bihać, the director of the video, talks about how he almost suffocated Lindemann by having him eat the angel wings.
