Sadly, this video gave me lots of dreams, but no options to try... I usually watch your videos with several windows open on my browser to search local liquor stores. In this case, none of the spirits you mention are available to me locally. I do enjoy tour videos as they are a great way to learn about tequila and mezcal. I have become a big fan of both as well as other spirits of North America like sotol.
I can really sense your passion and appreciation for these bottles, fun watch!
I love tequila and acquired a newfound affinity for it. However, mezcal is a superior spirit and imo the best, most unique in the world. Appreciate the reviews!
LUI!!! Thank you so much for teaching us/me about the greatness of Mezcal!! It is becoming my favorite spirit, and im always playing around with it in cocktails!!! CHEERS to you my brother!!!
Hey Lui, I ordered one bottle of Origen Raíz on your recommendation. Waiting for it. Can’t wait to have a sip! Thanks!
Whenever I go to Mexico I always make sure to bring back some clay pot still mezcal it’s always the best. Some of my favorite brands: Rey Campero, convite, Salvadores, Espina negra, mal bien to name a few. Going to try the real minero next on your suggestion.
The marca negra ensemble is amazing too. All the clay pot stuff is outstanding and my favorite. The Alipus clay pot stuff (red n black label) is tremendous
Good stuff man!
5 sentidos is my favorite. Haven’t had a chance to get real minero but clay pot distillation in general is amazing stuff
Enjoy your videos!
I plan on getting Los Siete Misterios Doba Yej for my first Mezcal purchase. I trust in you it will be a worthy purchase since I have always been satisfied, and beyond, with your recommendations Lui. (The one exception being Partida Repo, just wasn't a fan. Also noticed you only ever spoke about them ONCE.)
I really like IZO ensamble joven mezcal. super vegetal/mineral with a unique twist.
Origen Reiz is so funky! blew my socks off
You are just getting started. Try 5 Sentidos, Maricuchos, La Luna, Palomas Mensajeras and Rey Campero
I have not try lots of Mezcals but right now I have a bottle of Derrumbes Oaxaca that i´m enjoing a lot
The lost explorer mezcal is very good. Give it a try!
My two favorites are Los Danzantes and Mezcaloteca. I find the former to be a very classic premium mezcal and the latter has many different varieties, and even some that do not smoke the piña of the maguey.
Same here, love both Mezcal and Tequila but as someone who has forever been a scotch drinker Mezcal spoke to me more so than Tequila. Now don’t get me wrong the first bottle of El Tesoro I got was still fantastic, in cocktails or neat.
This. Have you seen Ralfy’s review of Del Maguey Chichicapa? It drew me in with the Islay references.
It's my jam😊
The Alto from Michoacan are amazing.
I’m new to this channel and enjoy the content, thanks! Looking to expand my horizons in my tequila experience.
I can’t find the video where you talked about a tequila called “La Gritona”. Is this a tequila worth trying?
What is everyone here top 3 favorite tequilas?
I’m looking to try and find Fortaleza and G4 and Don Fulano per the recommendation of this channel. (If I can find them)
Any other suggestions?
Welcome welcome to the world of a wonderful spirit! I can vouch for la gritona's reposado, certified additive-free, at a price of high $30s (NY State), aged for 8 months in Jack Daniels oak barrels. I took it upon myself to pour some and get some notes as well. It smells like roasted agave and hints of vanilla that turn into caramel on a deeper inhale. Inhaling longer reveals the cracked peppercorn and slight oakyness. On the taste it's twizzler-esque sweetness upfront, quickly becoming caramel, mid palate becomes roasted agave and has a moderately mild oaky finish. It also holds up wonderfully in cocktails that are on the tart side in my experience!
Other tequilas (all mentioned on this channel as well) are cimarron, tres agaves, siete leguas, ArteNOM Seleccion, arette, El Tosoro, Ocho, El Tequileno, Cazcanes, Lalo, and many many more!
@@lolzguyl Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. You’re detailed description of La Gritona was very interesting and informative. You appear to be a true connoisseur. Thanks for the other recommendations as well. Cheers!
Lui, I have a bottle of Mezcal that is a smoke bomb with rubber band aides. What cocktail can I mix to make this mezcal drinkable!? Or should I just pour it out..?
Monte lobos mezcal it’s super good
Now try some sotol brands 😊 if you can find them
I still haven’t found a mezcal that I like yet because I’m having a difficult time getting used to the smoky taste. The first one I ever tried was very smoky and to me it smelled like paint thinner and it tasted mostly like smoke. If you can recommend one that’s mildly smoky let me know because I really want to enjoy it like I enjoy Tequila
Have you tried Tears of Llorona?
Rey Campero has made some of my favorite mezcals
Rey Campero is soooooooooo good!
Need budget mezcal and total wine mezcal
Uncertified Agave spirits is where its at! I ❤ Agave. Acre Mezcal and 5 Sentidos are amongst my favorites
Is banhaz good
Has anybody tried Pensador mezcal?
Aren’t clay pots toxic?
You’re sleeping on Bozal. The Chino Verde and Tobala ♥️
I love making my palomas with 3 parts tequila and 1 part mezcal.
tried to get my friend into mezcal but he cannot get past his opinion that all mezcal tastes like barbecue water
What do you think of Bozal Mezcal?
It's alright.
where tf do I buy real minero in la
Don't know about in LA but wades wines in Agoura has it
I have grown to be a bigger fan of mezcal to tequila.
Look into Nombre De Dios
But lui you're still not pronouncing mezcal right 😂
