Been checking out a few of your vidz man. Thanks for uploading and sharing your knowledge.Just lately Ive been frustrated with the carthridge razor scene and been looking for something different.
It seems every few months there coming out with gimmick after gimmick that seem to do little to improve shave quality but are more a marketing technique to appeal to younger audiences.
Some of these new gimmicks even detract from how clean a shave you get or how many passes you have to make.Im gonna take your advice and Im gonna buy me a safety razor.
Im gonna start out simple and go for something like a parker 22R some taylor of old bond street and a decent quality shaving brush.
Then Im gonna use the money Id normally spend on cartridges and save up for either the merkur futur in satin chrome or the one I really want that Rockwell 6s.

Another great and informative shave Geo! Like the goatee!!👍👍. I have 20 razors now ranging from the AS-D2 to the Outlaw. I get on with all of them. I've been DE shaving for 35 years but only in the last few years have I been mapping my face and buying high end razors, soaps and brushes etc; One razor I can't get on with is the latest Wilkinson sword classic butterfly razor. It cuts me to pieces. I only used it twice in the end as it was a bit of a bloodbath. It would cut me even on the gentle starting strokes down the cheek. I think some razors just don't suit some people. My latest purchase was an open comb •68 Razorock Gamechanger which I received last Thursday and have used once. I really love it. It is getting difficult to get US made razors here in the UK with the covid problem. My best to you and all your subscribers Geo!

I've tried the Parker 96R some 6 or 7 times with 4 different blades and have the same experience as this customer. It's too rough for me. It's not "agressive" like the Mühle R41 which I have no problem with. It feels more like rubbing sandpaper over my skin. Scanning the comments on the internet reveals that this is the experience of a substantial minority. Some, like me, thought in the beginning that it was due to some production error, but it seems rather that it's due to factors like skin type, technique, choice of blades etc. I can use it for the first pass in my 3 pass routine, but I have to switch to another razor after the first pass. Otherwise I end up with a series of quite substantial nicks. This is the one razor in my collection of 16 that I will not use again. I have the Parker Semi Slant which I love to rotate with my Merkur 39C Slant. Really like that Parker. I also have 3 other TTOs that I love.

hello, I purchased this device about 3 years ago and yes, I made mistakes with it, I used blue or red gillette blades, I pressed too hard in the neck area, I experienced ingrown threads for the first time, plus I squeezed too hard and the rivet jumped out keep the butterfly closed tragically it's my fault I temporarily fixed it with a beer key and tightened it with a patent but I bought a 98 r which again confuses it with fusion 5 of course I cut it in 3 places again it's my fault because I knew to use it but the 98 t head fits on the handle from this black model even if a part of the thread remains exposed but honestly I didn't have the courage to use the 98 r head anymore I'm traveling now and I bought a mach 3 for the first time classic but when I'm going to get home, I'm going to fix the device correctly and I'm going to use them both, of course, according to you in the video and I'll come back with a comment, so once again I specify that the device is good

I shaved the first time with my new Muhle R89 last weekend by using shaving cream from a can and had no problems. Tuesday I received my brush (Muhle Silvertip Fibre Synthetic) and also the TOBS Sandalwood. I couldn't get a great lather like you have now and my neck was full of blood spots and razor burn. I must have done something wrong. Perhaps I did not use enough shavingcream, but I thought I already used a lot. And perhaps the shaving angle was wrong this time. I saw your video with the razor angle having both top and middle plate touch the skin and that might have confuse me and tugged more on the hairs. Perhaps touching my face with the top plate and then skewing the razor until the blade touches my skin is a better method which I just saw in another video of you.

I’ve only used cream, not soap, and never the hard puck style, so this may be a dumb question, but what do you do with all the extra lather? Do you just leave it in there to dry out and end up “reviving” it to use later? Do you remove it or rinse it out? Also, do the pucks last longer than the regular creams? Are they better or different somehow? Appreciate any info!

Blades, in my opinion, make a huge difference. It took me almost 2 months to settle on a blade. Everyone has their favorites. Geofatboy was using a Feather which I have found to be wicked sharp but way too aggressive for me. Nothing bad about the blade, just not right for me. Don’t give up on the razor too quick especially if you like the aesthetics of the razor. Designs are very similar with most razors. We tend to gravitate to what style appeals to us. Good luck and keep supporting Shave Nation. Geo is a great guy and carries great products. His customer service is hands down incredible.

I'm never going back to other forms and already converted a friend of mine from cartridge razors to safety razor. my skin is looking better, a hated chore has become a hobby, I love testing new blades, new scents of shaving soaps and creams and it saves ton of money long term plus you save ecosystem from plastic waste. give it a try.
