hello, I purchased this device about 3 years ago and yes, I made mistakes with it, I used blue or red gillette blades, I pressed too hard in the neck area, I experienced ingrown threads for the first time, plus I squeezed too hard and the rivet jumped out keep the butterfly closed tragically it's my fault I temporarily fixed it with a beer key and tightened it with a patent but I bought a 98 r which again confuses it with fusion 5 of course I cut it in 3 places again it's my fault because I knew to use it but the 98 t head fits on the handle from this black model even if a part of the thread remains exposed but honestly I didn't have the courage to use the 98 r head anymore I'm traveling now and I bought a mach 3 for the first time classic but when I'm going to get home, I'm going to fix the device correctly and I'm going to use them both, of course, according to you in the video and I'll come back with a comment, so once again I specify that the device is good
To the gentleman who this video was made for, if there’s anything you want to ask us about or don’t understand, I will be more than happy to help, as will everyone on here, don’t be afraid to ask, welcome to the brotherhood of wet shaving my friend
I shaved the first time with my new Muhle R89 last weekend by using shaving cream from a can and had no problems. Tuesday I received my brush (Muhle Silvertip Fibre Synthetic) and also the TOBS Sandalwood. I couldn't get a great lather like you have now and my neck was full of blood spots and razor burn. I must have done something wrong. Perhaps I did not use enough shavingcream, but I thought I already used a lot. And perhaps the shaving angle was wrong this time. I saw your video with the razor angle having both top and middle plate touch the skin and that might have confuse me and tugged more on the hairs. Perhaps touching my face with the top plate and then skewing the razor until the blade touches my skin is a better method which I just saw in another video of you.
I’ve only used cream, not soap, and never the hard puck style, so this may be a dumb question, but what do you do with all the extra lather? Do you just leave it in there to dry out and end up “reviving” it to use later? Do you remove it or rinse it out? Also, do the pucks last longer than the regular creams? Are they better or different somehow? Appreciate any info!
I rise off the old soap so the puck dries clean-Personal preference. Soaps, pucks, creams, all same but different. Try them and see what you like best.
Blades, in my opinion, make a huge difference. It took me almost 2 months to settle on a blade. Everyone has their favorites. Geofatboy was using a Feather which I have found to be wicked sharp but way too aggressive for me. Nothing bad about the blade, just not right for me. Don’t give up on the razor too quick especially if you like the aesthetics of the razor. Designs are very similar with most razors. We tend to gravitate to what style appeals to us. Good luck and keep supporting Shave Nation. Geo is a great guy and carries great products. His customer service is hands down incredible.
Hey Geofatboy! I went through your entire videos and I couldn’t find a review of the The Gillette Heritage - Inspired Double Edge Razor that came out a few years ago. It was a 3 piece razor that came in a brown storage case. Can you please do a review of it. Because I can’t find it in your videos.
Geo please reccomend some really calming aftershaves, my cheeks tend to get a little red after I shave, and take about an hr or two to really settle down.
@@jmartinez19944 I've been there :D I've been shaving with an electric shaver up until a few months ago. gave another try to wet shaving with cartridge razors along with these foams and gels from cans. then went with safety razor, brush and shaving cream/soap. electric shaver was mostly ineffective(and did have a pretty good panasonic foil) and it did seem like another chore that just must be done coz I've always preferred to be clean shaven. cartridges were leaving me with tons of irritations plus it was gross af. then came the salvation, yes, you must be careful at first and apply minimum to none pressure, start with less sharp blades. don't forget about the brush and soap it does miracles, sell or discard these canned foams or leave for travel. I'm never going back to other forms and already converted a friend of mine from cartridge razors to safety razor. my skin is looking better, a hated chore has become a hobby, I love testing new blades, new scents of shaving soaps and creams and it saves ton of money long term plus you save ecosystem from plastic waste. give it a try.

hello, I purchased this device about 3 years ago and yes, I made mistakes with it, I used blue or red gillette blades, I pressed too hard in the neck area, I experienced ingrown threads for the first time, plus I squeezed too hard and the rivet jumped out keep the butterfly closed tragically it's my fault I temporarily fixed it with a beer key and tightened it with a patent but I bought a 98 r which again confuses it with fusion 5 of course I cut it in 3 places again it's my fault because I knew to use it but the 98 t head fits on the handle from this black model even if a part of the thread remains exposed but honestly I didn't have the courage to use the 98 r head anymore I'm traveling now and I bought a mach 3 for the first time classic but when I'm going to get home, I'm going to fix the device correctly and I'm going to use them both, of course, according to you in the video and I'll come back with a comment, so once again I specify that the device is good

Got it, we'll be awaiting your reply.
Hey geo I use all my hard puck soaps like a shave stick try it if you don’t mind it’s really awe they just like shave sticks
Thanks Michael-That's actually a great idea.
Thumbs up for the video, thumbs down for the goatee 😂
Or at least not the shape you did it. But hey, it’s your face so don’t listen to me, I’m a kid 😂
Thanks for your input Jonathan
Your goatie is not bad...I think mine is alright too but my wife hates it I don't know why
Likely too itchy for her...
hello you prefer the 96 r or the 99 r bravo and a big thank you for your videos
Much love Geo!
Thanks Alex!
It seems to me that your goatee might be too wide. I usually have it longer than wider, if that's how you say it. Anyway, great video.
Thanks! This was the first carving out. I've already thinned it out a bit.
To the gentleman who this video was made for, if there’s anything you want to ask us about or don’t understand, I will be more than happy to help, as will everyone on here, don’t be afraid to ask, welcome to the brotherhood of wet shaving my friend
As I said above-Hope he didn't take it the wrong way, I did offer some helpful suggestions.
Damn, that looks like 10 days without a shave. You almost have a full beard.
It sprouts pretty quickly!
Keyword being-First Time. Get a few more shaves under your belt and let me know how it's going.
@@geofatboy okay thanks, I will.
Great shave! Goatee okay for a little variety. Have you reviewed LEAF's Twig razor yet? Or the LEAF razor?
Thanks for your input Nathaniel, no Twig yet.
Hi mate
Take all off.
Coming soon...
could you do a review on the GBS Straight Razer Kit?
Hmm, don't own that one.
I find parker to be best with heavy beard growth.
After this razor: bit.ly/MuhleR41RazorSN
Goatee ❤
Thanks for your vote!
On a scale from 1-10.
What would you rate the Aggressiveness of the razor.
Thanks in advance.
I'll give it a 5-6
Hey Geofatboy! I went through your entire videos and I couldn’t find a review of the The Gillette Heritage - Inspired Double Edge Razor that came out a few years ago. It was a 3 piece razor that came in a brown storage case. Can you please do a review of it. Because I can’t find it in your videos.
That's because I don't own one... Yet!
Thumbs up on the gotee
Thanks!
Do you like the Sickness of the soap or the Cream
Both were slick, but I prefer the stronger Sandalwood scent of the cream
The razor looks like the Gillette Blackbeauty from 1970s
I think they may have planned it that way
I have a 22R and I can confirm that the Parker TTO heads are a bit aggressive,
Greetings.
Thank you for your input Elio!
Hi Geo just wondering is the Parker 87R a mild razor something like the 34C thanks
Yes, similar...
Geo please reccomend some really calming aftershaves, my cheeks tend to get a little red after I shave, and take about an hr or two to really settle down.

Man I would get one but I'm to scared to try these safety razors lol
Scared-Why?
@@geofatboy because of them sharp razor blades & getting cut. I've always used an electric shaver
@@AlegreDiaVolver oh I see & thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go with the safety razor 🤙🏻👍🏻
Goatee looks solid but less real estate to shave
The Good-The Bad-The Ugly!
How does this razor compare to the Parker 74R?
I like the look of this one better. They will both be pretty similar shaving razors.
@@geofatboy okay great!
96r vs 99r, any idea which is better? Since the price difference is small
Those two razors shave very similarly
Keep the Gt for a minute
Uh Oh-Time's up!
Noooo goatee :)
Thanks for your vote!
Geo you got a Tesla huh? How is it?
That's a topic for an entire video. Coming soon...
Let it grow, then do another vid to color it. And one week later another vid.....chop it off with an R41
Thanks! Here you go: czcams.com/video/pAvFQMLbR2Y/video.html
It’s just one those things, the razor just wasn’t right for him. And I can give an example, the Marvel razor by FINE , I hated it, but many people love it.
That's what makes the world go round... Different strokes for different folks!
Next time during your shave..... Say Goatee Old Fart.
Spoken like a true Voldemort!
Greetings Gents! I'm Geofatboy from Shave Nation.com
I make shaving videos and sell shaving supplies...
I do know your intro by heart!!!
Hi bro, I am a little worried, I follow your stuff, all excellent, but I get ads of really young females, doing exercise stuff, and it’s becoming clear that they do not shave!, you can see the hairs sticking out of their Lycra leggings! What is worse, many of them seem to be sporting “pencil moustaches” looking forward to your “girls this is how men shave” vid, kind regards Tim
I think the algorithm picks up on your online history and things you've searched for and are interested in start popping up... Hence, the girls... and of course shaving... or not shaving
@@geofatboy whoops, they must know I watch Terrance Popp, kind regards Tim
That damn razor gave me the worst shave of my LIFE! my head felt like ants were biting every square millimeter after I shaved my dome with it. Would not recommend for a head shaver.
I always hated Parker's items. Their whole line up is wack. Shave the goatee off. It doesn't suit your style. You look better with a smooth look
Thanks for your input JBJ!
I don’t like the goatee and mustache. You look better clean shaven.
Exactly what my Mom used to tell me!
@@geofatboy same with my mom. She likes me to be clean shaven. I have quite a collection of safety razors. And I also have a lot of shaving soaps and shaving creams. I like wet shaving. There’s so much wet shaving products out there.
