Probably because they know a ton of players are going to complain about it being a problem when they just don't want to learn or lab
The only way to be a master is to expose all your weaknesses. If you can overcome anyone who know all your weakness you've conquered yourself and anything that can oppose you.
He wants people to deflect shield after the first rekka, then he's going to just not attack and wait to punish it with c.S. It's all part of the plan.
Makes it more fun.
You know watching this video made me realize that Johnny has a 6 frame jab, and having to play against Elphelt a lot yesterday made it an unforgettable lesson.
Meanwhile I play Bridget and all it did is make me realize that I needed to hit the kick button because anything else is too slow lol

Should note that she can whiff cancel the rekkas, the cancel window is just a bit later than on hit.
The fact that elphelt is canonically in love with nago makes this even better. "Learn with Nago on how keep Elphelt TF OFF YOU"

Also one thing of note, well the low and high technically are the same speed the first hit of the overhead whiffs on crouchers so it’s actually frame 16 not 14. I think the elphelt player can delay the low to make it a true 50/50. Also I might be wrong about all of this, new character and all. Even if I’m right a 2 frame difference is not gonna be easy to fuzzy.

As someone who's interested in maining her it'd be nice to have a video about how she matches up in neutral against characters with different ranges. Basically her rough game plan against the different character archetypes

She's a rushdown character. Her "gameplan" is to rush people down. That's always her gameplan. If she isn't doing that, she's probably losing.

On most (all?) of the cast, first hit of the high will whiff meaning you can potentially consistently fuzzy block, it’s a 2 frame window for the switch though.
Man this rekka is something else. I’m a pretty high level player and id like to think I’m good at adapting to situations, but it took 45 minutes of a random Elphelt looping the resets on me before I felt consistently able to defend.
Haven't looked at strive for some time, but I actually came back just because of her. I forgot how detailed your videos are! Also, good music choice with Running Hell

Great video! Got straight to the point and didn’t add anything unnecessary.
Worth noting that rekka 1 is always backdashable. Harder to pull of with characters that have short backdashes (may, millia) but they get the most reward since they can mash to beat all followups after backdashing. Standard backdash characters can throw P or K followups, but need to mash on S.

This is rally helpful as a pot player as a lot of my moves are not very fast. So knowing when i can interrupt moves is nice.

If you crouch block 214S, the first overhead leaves a gap for DP... I wasn't used to taking too much notice of the crouching in gap blockstings, she is less braindead than expected

As an Axl main who bought the game on the patch day 1 and had to deal with an army of Elphelts...
Your best bet is just NOT TO LET ELPH GET IN.
I found great use with the new tornado move for cancelling out hee fireballs quickly and when I have the chance to set up the charged version, I can approach more comfortably, use Rensen, 2H or any other moves and if she gets caught blocking in it I can do left-right mixups or get more distance and reset the situation. Can't let her just run in of course, but for Rekkas I just use FD, RS, even Burst or I can save the meter use his reversal super since she can't block when doing them.
Fighting Elph really helped me get the fundamentals of Axl's zoning game down.

also dont forget whisteling wind (214K), amazing if an enemy loves airdashing in
Elphelts rekka only caused me trouble once… after that I went back to SF6 again and it never bothered me again

At 0:39, I think the gaps in c.S > 214S and 2H > 214S are 4 frames, so they lose to Sol 5K and trade with Sol 5P. 5H > 214S and 6H > 214S both counterhit Sol 5k though

As a fledgling Asuka player, I sometimes felt like my brain can't breathe into her.
The knockdown war is brutal; if Asuka wins he gets to play again the minute his pressure wanes, if Elphelt wins on the other hand...

This video helped me tremendously, especially with her Oki setup which usually lets her get into her second pass of the Rekka very safely.

This guide is great and all (like genuinely so helpful) but for any sol players watching you ain’t gotta learn all this shit just hit 5k when you see the flip (hold it after 2h tho then 5k the next flip) remember, never block always hit buttons

Good ole dp nothing beats that.
So in short - starting with H is frametrap, other buttons - interruptable, rekka starter is throwable, full rekka is punishable, one mix into H is safe, loop is interraptable. Seems mad strong.
Rekka starter/reset (it's the same move afaik) is airborne so you can't really grab it except on the very first frames

Hayashi sorry if I'm pronouncing your name wrong G but dude I can't tell you how many times I've lost to this character not knowing that I can literally jab her out of her Rekha just blows my mind I'm sitting here getting mad because I play ABBA and sometimes I play Soul and like it felt like it was almost impossible to deal with this move and now it just looks so easy to deal with now that I understand how it works
As an Anji player, I looked at chain lollipop once and learned how to beat the move, it’s such a simple idea
And it made me realize that if Anji’s mix was slightly better he’d beat half the game’s population
And I’m gonna go think about that now and maybe cry

The nagiha buff is extremely good. Learn your meterless combos after a nagiha hit and you'll be in a really good place

Welp, cS into Rekka trades with 5f 5p and loses to 6p, 2h into rekka also loses, only viable option for her is 5h into rekka and 6h into rekka, thats safe against 5f buttons.
Correction - 5p depends on hitboxes for different characters but 6p should do the trick

I think, save starter should be removed, it to strong to have free powerful double mix-up with reset option, but if her first move in chain will be always unsave, this might be balanced.
Yeah, they’ve gotta do something. I don’t think it’s fair at all that I can know her rekka is coming yet because completely unable to do ANYTHING about it because she has safe block strings into it.
Like I-No’s counter play is stopping her dashes and prevent her from getting close, Jack-O is stop her minions, Millia is not getting knocked down; Elphelt? Don’t block her rekka. Alright, then make it Mashable before or after like May dolphin
Even Chipp needs resources for his Rekka to be really scary. Elphelt can just throw it out and suddenly get mix better and safer than Millia

There is no one way to counter her rekka, its a rps situation, the best way is to DP if you have one, or super if you are Ramlthal or Baiken.

Note that she can choose to not hit any rekka buttons, and instead grab you. Faultless defending should prevent that from happening,though.
It mostly overlaps with Reset as it also can be defended with 5p and punishes passive blocking.
