    Thank you for this. My issue is always second guessing if the diaper is too tight around the belly. My baby is a little over 14 pounds, he's 4 months old (1 month premature). I have him in a Huggies size 2

      I felt like I was doing this all the time until I actually came to my doctor and discussed what to be looking for. I was worried it was too tight or that we are going to end up with blow out since the diaper was too loose. If the diapers to loose you can actually cause a rash. So happy this helped you!

      @@SpeechTherapistMom thank you so much. I realize at my doctors appointment that she makes the diaper tighter lol. I go in with so many questions that I feel embarrassed asking about that, especially since my baby is 4 months old now. It's only a question now because he's sitting up (assisted) rather than lying flat, so seeing his stomach when sitting up makes me wonder if he's uncomfortable. New mom issues lol thank you again and I'll bring it up to his doctor too if I still have questions

    Thank you for this video. For some reason my baby girl has been having a damp diaper at night and the diaper isn’t even full we use huggies little movers size 5 now. I change it during the night so I’m guessing it’s not fitting her or it’s too big lol I can’t tell. I thought the 4 was snug but looking at this her diaper fit like that and there wasn’t any damp feeling. I’m thinking of going back to size 4 now after watching this. The sole reason I went up was because it looked snug and I thought she would have leaks with it.

      I'm so happy this video was helpful to you. Honestly I felt the same way until I watched my doctor put on my son's diaper. I made this video specifically so mama with the same fear of making the diapers to a snug would be able to have a visual. It was extremely helpful when my doctor gave me this information. It's tough we definitely don't want to end up giving her a child a rash or hurting them. However, if the diaper is too loose they can actually rub, cause a rash, and cause leaks. If you still have questions please reach out!

    My 6 month old is 20 pounds. I just went a got size six diapers... anytime he started having leaks I’d just size up. It wasn’t until today that my husband noticed the weight range on the side of the box.. whoops! I feel so dumb but that makes for the video. I’ve got a chunky lil guy but I’ve been putting his diapers on wrong.. and like way up his back/stomach. I was just guessing they needed to be up that high to stop blow outs... that always comes out the top on his tummy or side. I see now that these are just way to big! Wish I would have CZcamsd sooner!

      Thank you so much. Your kind words have made me smile. I'm so happy to hear that this video was helpful to you. Honestly until our pediatrician showed me how to put on our diapers I had also done it all wrong. We were having blowouts and leaks frequently. It was so frustrating! I like my child and myself are always covered in something and I was always running to the laundry. Happy to share!

      I had this issue too. My baby was 25lbs at his 1 he appointment,. He was in a size 4., but he wake up for at least 3 bottles in the middle of the night. So sizing up to a 5 helped me save on diapers thru the night., but I wasn’t thinking about the fact that it could be messing with him and possible bladder infections/problems… we’re currently in a rough spot in life so not only sharing a room., sharing a twin bed.. so ,, getting him off of a bottle is going to rough until I’m in my own space.. I was just tired of being woken up for diaper changes., the he started having blow outs/leaks… I think the diaper was too heavy and he was leaking thru the side., since he’s been back on a 4, I change EVERYTIME he wakes but., I’m also not changing my sheets and dealing with his pee.

    My son was born at 34 wks and 4 days he is 6 months old and weighs 13.8 and we thought the size 2 huggies lil snugglers were small on him but they still fit him and he has a small frame as well

      @SpeechTherapistMom  Před 2 lety +1

      That is wonderful. It seems like the smaller diapers are always cheaper! As long as your son doesn't have any rashes or weeks I would keep up with the diapers you're using. Hope this helps!

    My son has plenty of room around the stomach area but is still developing rashes on his outter thigh by the tabs and the inner thighs. Why is that?

      Try a few different brands! That may help.

    • @MzAW227
      @MzAW227 Před měsícem

      It can be deceptive. My 2year old wears a size 5 and they are a little big, but I agree with trying a different brand, some don't have stretchy tabs which makes for an awkward fit.

  • @ssmh4346
    @ssmh4346 Před 6 měsíci

    Where should the tabs meet? Should i go up a size if there is around 3 inches of space between the 2 tabs?

    • @SpeechTherapistMom
      @SpeechTherapistMom  Před 6 měsíci

      The tabs can meet in the middle just make sure they don't move around a lot. The movement is what will is what will cause a rash.
