  • I show you how I make whipped cold process soap, give some tips and tricks along the way, and share an easy recipe that you can use (personal use only) or tailor to suit your needs.
    Please follow proper safety procedures when making soap and working with kitchen appliances. Only use dedicated soaping equipment when making whipped soap. (Meaning, do not use items that would later be used to make food. My KitchenAid is dedicated to bath and body supplies... NOT for cooking.)

    Thank you for this video! Because of you I just made my first batch of whipped soap! I'm a new soaker so I was nervous, but I think it turned out good. I found a bowl mixer similar to yours but smaller for $30.00 at Walmart and it worked great (in case anyone is interested in one and doesn't want to spend a lot on it).

      I don't know for sure about using it for whipped soap, but that's what I plan on using myself, because I love red palm oil in soaping. I makes a nice hard bar of soap, so I would think it would work fine. It's worth a try.

    • @catzkeet4860
      @catzkeet4860 Před 6 lety +1

      Paula Timmons it’s the air. Same as hard candy goes from amber to white when it’s pulled, or when you cream butter and sugar till pale when baking, whipping(or pulling in the case of candy) is to incorporate air into a mixture. All those tiny air bubbles then deflect light, making the mixture look white.

    You don't have to buy a new stand mixer do you? You can just buy another bowl and attachments right?

    • @mandarinlollipop
      @mandarinlollipop  Před 9 lety +1

      Kathryn Gutierrez I keep my stand mixer completely separate from my food prep items, but I've seen people use a hand mixer (again, make it only for use with soap), no problem... if you'd like to try that route. It's definitely cheaper and easier than buying a new bowl and attachments (and keeps things completely separated from food prep items)... PLUS, a hand mixer makes it easier to reach the sides and bottom. I have to stop my stand mixer multiple times and scrape, scrape, scrape the sides and bottom to ensure that EVERYTHING got mixed in. Otherwise, you'll have pockets of oil that never saponify. Eep!

    • @KaylansPOV
