  • Welcome to Renpet Bath & Beauty's soap kitchen! In this video, we are making cream soap using the cold process method & duel lye. Both sodium hydroxide & potassium hydroxide.
This cream soap is used as my whipped soap. One of my best selling soap products!
***I forgot to say why I store this soap for so long when I made the video, my apologies! I store it for 8 weeks because the first 2 weeks of its storage I cover it with plastic wrap. I stir it EVERY day for those first 2 weeks and replace the plastic wrap every time as well. At the beginning of week 3 I remove the plastic wrap and stir it every other day. Week 4 & 5 I stir it every 4-5 days, and from then on I leave it alone for the most part. I will shake the bucket it is in on occasion if I think about it when I am in my soap room. After the 8 weeks I make sure to test the soap to make sure it is ready. I hope this more detailed explanation helps.
We hope you will join us on this, our YT journey.

I must be living under a rock because I've never heard of cream soap. It looks really interesting. I think I'll look for Kathleen's book. Thank you.

You are very welcome! Cream soap is awesome and much cheaper to make than buying a whipped soap base!
      Have a great weekend! 😁😁

This is amazing watching you make this creamed soap, I have to buy mine by the 1kg as I had no idea how or what the process was to make this type of soap. Thankyou so much for sharing how you make creamed soap Sue-Lyn it was a real treat. Have a wonderful weekend with your family xx💜

You are very welcome Tanya! If you're looking to get started making cream soap, because it is so much cheaper to produce yourself, I would start with Kathleen Failor's book she's got some great recipes in there and I'm sure that you can make them your own.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed watching the process.
You and your family have an extremely wonderful weekend and stay safe my friend! 🥰❤😁

That was very interesting. I've never heard of cream soap. I used to use potassium hydroxide to make liquid soap and I always loved the sound it makes when water mixes with it. By the way, I sometimes forget gloves, too!

I'm not sure I've heard of creamed soap, only liquid soap. Very interesting. Looking at it being whipped it reminded me of meringue but you are right, marshmallow fluff is more like it. It's almost like you are putting the bubbles into your hand even before you wash with it. Very cool.

I'm so glad I could show so many people something kind of new! I've making cream soap for a long time, it is my lips soap base. Angie do her Oh so right!
It is meringue flash marshmallow fluff! And just a little bit will wash you all right up! Seriously, a little goes a long way!
Have a wonderful week Renee! Love you! 🥰🥰😘❤

Thank you! Kathleen Failor has a great book on the subject, so that's a great start... im sure you can make it your own. I always tried to just figure out stuff by myself. This cream soap took me about a year-and-a-half to get right. However it was well worth it because it makes the price of my whipped soap way less for my customers.
Have an amazingly fantastic weekend my friend! ❤😁❤

Thanks for sharing your cream soap process. I did want to say that there really is no concern about making food with implements that have come in contact with lye, because there is no lye remaining when you are done. Even if a bit of lye managed to escape being made into soap, or missed being washed off the bowl during the clean-up process, simple contact with the air would would turn that lye into harmless soda ash within a short time period.
Also, did you know that pretzels and olives are made with lye? And that many products we put on our skin have been pH-adjusted with lye solution? It isn't something to fear. :)

Wow! I did not know that I was in some of the stuff we eat! That is scary! I say that only because I have young grandchildren and I want to make sure that lie is never in contact with them. I think it's important whether it can harm you or not harm you that it should be separated from soaping to food it's my personal preference I would just rather not have it that way does that make sense? 🤔
Thank you so much for watching I very much appreciate it I know it's a strange way to make cream soap but it's so awesome and so much easier than the old fashioned way! You and your family have a wonderful wonderful weekend! 😁❤

  • @TempleCareEmpireL.L.C.

    1. Where did you store it to rot?
    2. After it was done roting is it good for use?

    • @renpetbathbeauty8553
      @renpetbathbeauty8553  Před 2 lety

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I have a soap room that I use for the rotting process it's in my basement I just store it with plastic wrap over the soap under the lid did that make sense? For the first two to three weeks depending sometimes I only do it for a week but that first week I stir it every day PERIOD!
After the second week I'll stir it every 2 to 3 days or so and then by the time the fourth week is done I will just shake the container to mix it up.
And yes after the wrap process it's good to go. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any more just please let me know

Could you use a hand mixer instead of stirring it by hand ? This would kill my arm
