    I really enjoyed this video you show how math is used in the trades,You teach where is it understandable. I am Ag teacher I teach mainly welding classes this will help me show to my students that math is important for them to know. I would like to see more videos like this with math skills involved. No only does it help my students it sharpens my knowledge of things I was never was taught how to do. Thank you for making these kind of videos.

    What about subtracting the welding pulling? The welding gap and stuff …

    very interesting, I used to work in heavy fabrication as a welder, prepairing cylinders for sub-arc. Never worked off blue-prints. We had our own welding bays and had a number of cylinders to work on from single vee, double vee upto 6" thick. all x-ray work.👍

    Also in most cases also take away your root gaps in New Zealand its about 3mm per side so 2901.950mm - 3mm-3mm = actual pup length 2896(rounded) if not more gap been 6" pipe depending on the fitter/welder as gap will srink when tacking and will still get good root peneration

    Do your WWA students get a iso paper book to practice fit ups, drawings and the math involved before hitting the field?

      @@WesternWeldingAcademy I was under the impression based on previous videos that the school was 8 hours of welding a day, but some class time can be good based on material being taught and presentation to keep students engaged but please do explain your comment. Classrooms first before hands on training?

    Im going to forward this to my guys who cant seem to cut pipe correctly. Ask for an 8' length of 16" water main and get 6.5' instead. Even with hymax couplings being used

    Awesome lesson,. I didn’t know the flanges go off of weight.. how about a lesson using the iso paper, drawing out a plan or reading prints already drawn out.

    Better apps,..Pipe trades pro calculator...and pipe fitter calculator. This does all offsets,. Even will add your root gap in. These are the absolute best apps. Weldbend also has a good app and you can download their data into your phone with all fitting, lets, and flange take offs.

    9 , 1/2 “ isn’t for a long radius 90 ? I thought if it was a standard it was the same size as the pipe ,

    • @tford4471
      @tford4471 Před rokem

      Long radius is always 1.5 times the pipe size so a 4 inch 90 is 6 inches ...... Just like overtime ..... Short radius is what you are talking about .... Hope this helps

    Wrong you didn't take off the Gap for welding if you had a few Tee's in there plus a couple of flanges you would be in trouble
