I feel SpongeBob died with the episode Good Neighbours. It was the first time that SpongeBob and Patrick irritated Squidward for no reason and it unfortunately started the trend of the Squidward torture episodes.
Yeah, it's a fine line between innocence and idiocy.
Homestarfan13 you are absolutely right
Canana Man I think it’s up to personal preference, because that episode aired when I was a kid and it just made me annoyed more than anything. Poor squidward ;_;
Homestarfan13 that episode was REALLY funny tho
The episode that killed it wasn't Good Neighbors, that episode is very overhated. The one that killed it for me was Squid Wood. Although I still think modern SpongeBob has some good episodes in there (especially the newer seasons) and i'm not one of those people who thought it just died immediately after the movie.
Spongebob died today, with Steven Hillinberg. Will be missed💛

Entertain The Elk yeah they're great
Giovanni Orellana yeah i do as well.
Say, you know, Rugrats was so successful, that it got another of them older, called All Grown Up, the same with Dora the Explorer with Dora and Friends Into the City, speaking of Dora, since SpongeBob is Nickelodeon's main show, Dora is Nick Jr.'s, but at least SpongeBob's still getting new episodes, while Dora' isn't, why did Nick Jr. do this, she's as good as SpongeBob, so why did her show end, Dora's been around ever since I was 4 years old, SpongeBob's been around since I was 2 years old, and speaking of Nick, we can't forget Blue's Clues, that started when i was just a baby, but back when I was a baby, I thought Blue was a boy, I even dressed as Blue on Halloween once, ypu know, I would of thought of SpongeBob, his friends, Dora, her friends, and Blue, with her friends meeting would be amazing, it's jnot jut Nickelodeon, with Cartoon Network, there's the Season 1 1998 Powerpuff Girls, Tom and Jerry, all of Hannah Barbera, well, Disney Channel did have Kim Possible, there's also PBS Kids with Clifford, *Tells you all good shows, and how awesome it would be if they joined forces*
They are pretty great!

When the creator died
CANT I SAY HOWW
He was diagnosed with ALS then a few years later he died
I've always wanted to talk about this. The writers knew what they were doing in the beginning.
Yep. When a new staff comes in, it usually feels like they're trying to replicate as opposed to understanding the deeper levels of the world and characters.
Let's talk about that!
DEREK DRYMON NEEDS TO COME BACK TO SPONGEBOB 😫😭
Josh Quintanilla as soon as I stopped seeing Derek in the beginning credits I noticed a huge drop in episode quality.
Random-man exactly. People usually only credit hillenburg leaving as the reason for the drop but I believe drymon is one of the biggest reasons

(What am I doing with my life?)
One of the many episodes the loved is when squidward was like “I’m claustrophobic” and Patrick was like “what does that mean” and SpongeBob is like “it means he’s scared of Santa clause” and Patrick is like “HO HO HO” and SpongeBob goes “STOP YOUR SCARING HIM”
AHAAHHHAAH 😂😭
That was a season 4 episode wishing you well
Season 4 almost feels like an extension of season 3 SpongeBob
But Season 4 is also when some episodes started feeling a bit off
@verteks I consider Season 4 of SpongeBob, to be like Season 9 of the Simpsons, it started to change and some of the modern stuff was slowly starting, but wasn't too far off, from the classic era.
Old-school sponge bob really just captured everyone’s sense of humor. My parents even loved sponge bob. I stopped watching after the second sponge bob movie came out.
Same
Yeah SpongeBob changed alot
@@bmwgurl3067 yep but in a bad way
@@bmwgurl3067 I loved the show and I still love it but the new seasons are just unwatchable 😞
I stopped watching after the first movie. That was a perfect ending to the franchise.
Let's be honest, Spongebob's first film was the actual best film ever
What'd you think of Out of Water?
It was ok. I forget it even exists sometimes.
The first one always will have a place in my heart!
I always liked the first movie ever since I first watched it. When I watched Sponge Out of Water in theaters I didn't have that feeling of joy I had unlike the first movie. Especially the latter half of the movie is where it kinda got dull for me. I'm happy that some of the original writers including the man himself wrote the second movie but it still didn't have the charm the first movie had. It's still a good movie, but some parts could be done better.
Honestly sponge out of water is better.
Both films are good
It was fun! I enjoyed it.
I like both films equally.
Something that I really miss was Patrick's random moments of brilliance when he said something really smart and complicated. Now he's just dumb. 😔
yea patrick was dumb on the outside but more smart on the inside
Kawaii Artist now he’s a dick well in many episodes he is
Yeah I miss that, too! Like when he said in the secret box episode, "The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma..." which cracked me up and surprised me with the sudden smart language! Or when Patrick knows that Squidward doesn't want to be bothered and SpongeBob insists that Squidward is their best friend! Yea I missed those sort of things...
Kawaii Artist the inter mechanisms of my mind are an inigma
Kawaii Artist Patrick smartpants? That one moment in Spongebob's last stand?
The exaggerated “Ren and Stimpy” animation in seasons 11 & 12 have made it almost unwatchable.
I know, I hate it.
Now, spongebob is for only 2 - 6 years old kids.
Season 9 was prob the last season i watched

RIP Stephen Hillenburg, he died on Monday November 26, 2018.
When Stephen stepped on as the director of the cartoon show once again right after their second movie, he made the show (sort of) great again and made it more artistic and unique.
And now, Stephen's death is truly the death of Spongebob and i might suggest that they should end airing new Spongebob episodes on Nick by or right after 2019 which will be the 20th anniversary of the series.
Abimelech Sanders agreed. It would be the most respectful thing to do.
But, knowing what a money-hungry cunt Sumner Redstone (CEO of Viacom) is, it probably won’t happen. He’s gonna milk Stephen’s work for all it’s worth.
Sadly nick won’t end the show due to it being their number 1 that makes the network so much money .I mean unless the ratings drop that’s pretty much what you can say for the future show
Joey Ray 10 that’s the only show that gonna keep Nickelodeon popular to be honest
@@midnightpearl4197 especially how they are making a reboot
Abimelech Sanders according to Vincent Waller, Stephen hillenburg loved what they were doing with the show and wanted it to keep going.
Oh God not the splinter episode
It’s so fucking creepy
I had a 2 inch splinter in my thumb once. I felt that episode in the pit of my stomach
That splinter turned into a fucking cysts it was very disgusting
That episode is just nasty just like that Family Guy's herpes episode
I puked when I watched it
The first few seasons of SpongeBob are incredible, like, more than they have any right to be. I grew up on that show and returned years later to find it even funnier than when I was a kid, but yeah, a show can't continue much longer with the heart and soul that made it so great in the first place. Loved the video Adam, this series is great. I think you'd have an easy time finding when HIMYM bit the bullet, so that may be one to visit in the future!
Thanks buddy! Really appreciate that coming from you. And you're right, HIMYM definitely took a dip, but it might not have completely died until it's terrible finale.
Film Radar well there are shows that can still be good despite running long like Adventure Time and Regular Show. Spongebob even got better in Season 10
Haha, that may very well be the worst finale in sitcom history.
I completely agree, I loved spongebob as a kid because kids are incredibly easily entertained, but coming back to it it's actually (or it was anyway) a fucking brilliantly written show. There were so many things that went completely over my head as a kid that I found myself laughing at hysterically as an adult
HIMYM was never good.
I personally liked the whole of season 4. Had the funniest animations but still didn’t start getting super gross like the later seasons.
Yep
Everybody complains about Season 11-now but I’d rather watch that then Seasons 6-8. I really feel the characters are at their worst in that season.
I grew up on spongebob...
man it hurts to see your hero’s fall
Heroes
An apostrophe does not make a plural.
With the depature of Hillenburg, the art director also left the show. And after that, the overall art style became absolutely ugly and horrible at times. I'm so happy that I grew up with the first three seasons.
Agreed. I think there's a charm to the imperfections of older artwork. Same for Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burger. Computer animation makes everything too slick and clean.
Absolutely. All the colors look way too bright and most of the character design is downright ugly in later seasons. I also don't understand why there is so much disturbing gross out stuff later in the show. It has no charm whatsoever to it and feels extremely out of place. Great video btw.
I think you can add south park and dragon ball z to that list as well
But in season 10-11, some of the characters look like stretchy animation compared to Ren & Stimpy.
Jeezy Frankie Hillenburg had returned to the show
favorite episode was the band episode at the superbowl
Dave Leigh thats in my top 10
Bank geeks
"That's his eager face"

Dave Leigh with the Sweet Victory song?
I feel the episode All That Glitters killed Spongebob. It turned him into a crying child. It isn’t the worst, but it was the one that started the downfall.

The big problem with this concept they don't know how to stop
let spongebob move out from bikini bottom
MrDelvoye HaHA
One day there will be like a weird spin off sort of show. Like an English speaking Gary that goes to college or something.
Like most franchises that make money and are popular
What's worse is how much nickelodeon is invested in Spongebob, they don't give new shows time to develop, just opting to push out more and more spongebob
Ethan Davies nickelodeon doesnt even have manh cartoons nowadays just a bunch of shitty sitcoms
Bleh. I hate that.
Entertain The Elk Maybe if they ACTUALLY WATCHED Nick's newer shows, instead of trying to make them force their kid audience to watch instead, maybe they would'nt rely on Spongebob so much for ratings.
Harvey Beaks wasn't that great. Also the creator of that show was one the original Spongebob writers.
Just like how Cartoon Network does the same with Teen Titans Go!
It died, and became a zombie, Hillenburg came back, and was alive once again, for a few short months, but Stephen has passed away, and the show will never be the same again
Rest in peace
Stephen became diagnosed with ALS in March 2017. Despite his weakened health, he continued to work for Spongebob.
Unfortunately, however, he passed away in the age of 57, in 2018, November 26th.
Stephen was and always will be the one to make Spongebob. We miss you, RIP ;(

What amazes me about the original 2 seasons of Spongebob is that practically everybody remembers them, and almost every episode had a quote that has been immortalized. Oh wow I didn't expect you here!
@Brandy Lagrone yeah… 😞
To me I loved season 4
@@ComputerClan fear of a krabby patty was an amazing episode?? Season 4 isn't all bad, it just has a couple of really low lows, other than that it's an amazing season
Season 4 wasn't that bad, as SH still cared and gave instructions. But the downfall started and kept gaining speed. Then compare episodes of S08 or 09 to them. Different worlds. I didn't even smile once there.
Once Season 4 began, the only real goal of the franchise was to maintain money grabbing status.
RIP Spongebob 1999-2005.
The flanderization seems to effect all characters of all tv shows eventually.
Unfortunately, I think you're correct.
That's why great shows end while at their peak. Because the creators know it's not a good idea to milk a series dry.
It's kinda like that cliché action movie / super hero movie saying: Either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain.
It did with Futurama for sure. Except for a few episodes here and there, the characters in that show did suffer greatly. Even though Harmon is still involved in it, it's seen in Rick and Morty too. But then again this may just be because season 3 got cut 4 episodes short.
Except for Billy and Mandy. That show almost embraced flanderization from the start with their characters, and made it work somehow.
guitarbass22 I haven’t noticed any Flanderization in Rick and Morty whatsoever. Idk what you’re on about. They’ve all grown and developed as people over the past three seasons. Morty and Summer are nowhere near the same.
I'm glad theres finally a word for what I was wondering about at last.
Flanderization? Yeah, I'd never heard it until my research for this video. Fits perfectly.
Entertain The Elk The Office is a pretty good example of it. Major decline in writing quality after they wrote Michael off.
Agreed! Friends always comes to my mind when I think of Flanderization.
Another show that comes to my mind is the finale season of the Boondocks. Dragon Ball to, on how dumb Goku is in Super now.
Ryan Fink
Agreed, he used to have more depth, especially when u see how he acts when krillin dies, twice, and his serious interactions with Vegeta during the buu arc.
There are exceptions in super though, although short lived.

nigelo92
Same goes with Mr. Turner from Fairly Oddparents. What started out as innocently dumb turned into blatantly useless.
bond james bond Cosmo started out the same way, but whereas Cosmo's flanderization bugged me, I never minded Mr. Turner's.
Calvin_Coolage
I think they both fell apart. Both shows should have ended a while ago.
I hate to say this, but I'm glad Invader Zim and Danny Phantom got canceled when they were. It's better to go out in a blaze of glory than stick around this long and go this far downhill. There's a saying "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
Calvin_Coolage
Supposedly Spongebob was supposed to end after the movie but the network wanted to keep it on air. I like some of season 5-9 and the new Hillenburg episodes have been solid, but sometimes it is best to have an established ending on a high note. That's something Kim Possible did perfectly.
Seriously. Sure Patrick wasn't the brightest but he used to be also kind, caring and he had those rare bursts of intelligence that left not only the viewer but Spongebob/Squidward/etc shocked.
Now he's just a bumbling idiot that can't even walk properly.
This is a perfect analysis of what happened. Exactly what I noticed the episode directly after the movie.

It was the B side of that episode which people really thought was the jump the shark moment. That was “Good Neighbors” which is considered the first true Squid Torture Porn episode where the poor character is punished and tortured all on his day off. It’s total injustice and none of it was deserved. This set the tone for later seasons.

LittenTheLitKitten __ Does the animation improve in season 10 and 11?
Shit I don’t even know the seasons by memory, I just watched whatever was on. What was so bad with season 7?
LolWut Season 7 had some(over ten) of the worst episodes in the whole show like One Coarse Meal and A Pal for Gary. 95% of this season is bad. When there are episodes here that aren't awful they usually are boring or forgetible. Also this was the lowest point show and the characters all just resembled a single trait and became 1 dimensional. Luckily, it gradually got better in season 8 and 9.
Just yesterday, Spongebob Squarepants TRUELY died today, Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob itself, passed away of ALS at 57. I hope they just make a final episode with all the memories from Spongebob with a little "In Loving Memory" at the end.
That will make me cry 😭
almost felt like crying. This is so on point. I always talk about how The movie is a major turning point.
The quality definitely went downhill. I like some of the post-movie episodes, but overall the drop in quality was blatant. I think the beginning of the end was season 5 "To Love a Patty."

So its not so much the Death of Spongebob Squarepants; more like the "Dork Age" of Spongebob Squarepants.

Nah, it’s the death, because honestly I don’t think the newer episodes compare very well to the old. They are much funnier than the other seasons, but the characters are still totally fucked up. I was really surprised just how funny Sponge Out of Water turned out to be (especially after the trailers narrowed in on all the live-action stuff, when that was thankfully only the last 25 minutes or so), and it's good to see Hillenburg's return has given the show some creative resurgence. Rest in peace stephen hillenburg❤
Right on! Part of what had made the show so enjoyable was Spongebob's innocence, and while the gags were certainly out of left field, they were in a fun way. They didn't have to be uber-gross or frightening or overly painful. Truly gifted writers don't have to come over to the dark side (unless that was their genre in the first place).
All the characters were so much more entertaining while they had their many layers. I think because of that, there wasn't a single character I could dislike. It also gave the show more depth. Squidward, for instance---for all his arrogance and crustiness, he had his kinder moments, such as when he was afraid Spongebob was going to "blow up" after eating a pie in one episode.
Finally, someone said it. I knew I couldn't be the only one that was completely mortified by the new gags, it's just straight-up repulsive, there's no genuine humor anymore, just gross-out jokes and animations.
@soft squishy
suga What do you mean, finally someone said it? This has been a popular complaint with many fans, for over 10 years.
Hilenburg also was diagnosed with MS recently. Its sad. He really defined my childhood and many of my friends'. Like, we could just make random Spongebob references without any context and we'd all get it. His characters and writing really changed who I am and who I will be as a person, despite how cheesy that may sound.
Oh yea I heard about that it's terrible.
Bubbles actually it was als
This is the first episode of “The day it died” where I can actually pin point when it died.
R.I.P. Stephen Hillenburg 💛
Javier Maltzan Don’t worry... he’s in a better place... :’) But without spongebob, I wouldn’t have had a childhood. DX
Season 1-3 = GOLD!!!!!
Season 4 = Good.
Season 5 = Okay.
Season 6 and 7 = ATROCIOUS!!!
Season 8 = Meh.
Season 9 = Decent (getting better)
Season 10 and 11 = Really good.
Let's be glad the show is actually good again
4 and 8 was meh
pgj1997 True
pgj1997 For me season 4 was decent and seasons 5, 8, and 9a were meh. Post-sequel SpongeBob is not as good as people make it out to be, but it is very funny and well-written.
Ren Hoek While I agree that 6 and 7 were the worst seasons, I didn't like many of the episodes from seasons 5, 8, and 9a (before Sponge Out of Water).
pgj1997 i was born in 02 so I love SBSP no matter what season... but i feel what you guys are talking about
I feel like spongebob died when season 5 started R.I.P CLASSIC SPONGEBOB 1999 - 2005
And now the series will probably once again go back into a permanent decline since Steven passing
Austin D what do you mean, it’s been on the decline for over 10 years
It was dead after the movie honestly.
Second
But that movie was a work of art (the first one)
That's because the original writers left after the first movie. The movie was supposed to be the ending of Spongebob and it's confirmed to be the chronological ending.
Kerrick Satahoo first. They switched writers to an inferior writer. Now it's all just gross out humor and 1 dimensional characters.
Isaac Houts and I think he would agree. What he's referring to is how the writers were swapped.
It didn't die...it evolved,or devolved.whatever sinks your boatmobile.
Lol
😐
5 years without Stephen Hillenberg. Miss him more than anything Nickelodeon related.
Just when we thought SpongeBob could come back to greatness, Stephen Hillenburg passed away and Nickoledeon reneged on their promise to Hillenburg: No spinoffs. Nick is burying Hillenburg's legacy by making Kamp Koral and there is nothing his estate can do about it since the show is owned by Nick.
I watched a new episode of the show a few days ago. It made me so sad seeing what that awesome show turned into. It was just boring and way to fast and much happening at the same time. I felt that everything was rushed way to much. Everything is idiotic and tried hard being funny. The characters are way to restricted in their personalities. I guess it's made for today's 12 year olds.
HazardEdit Really? What episode. From what i seen season 10 has been pretty good
Adam The Typical Gamer season 10 and 11. Don't remember the episodes. I think s11 was e1 to e3.
They try too hard and just completely lose touch and try to rush everything
The reactions are so retarded
Simpson’s. ...all shows can only be interesting for a while. ....king of queens took the high road
Spongebob used to be bold and brash, then it belongs in the trash.
But at least Spongebob isn't the pile of useless shit as the Simpsons came to be.
bashing it with it's own joke, SAVAGE LOL!
Trashman: Sorry. I think I missed that one.
This is the kind of quotable joke the show was famous for.
I’ve never met anyone who referenced the series after season 3
The day that Stephen Hillenburg died
In my opinion SpongeBob died after the first movie. Big mistake on Nickelodeon's part by continuing it afterwards. That's one of the biggest reasons people have grown to hate SpongeBob. He's overstayed his welcome. I mean its to the point where nowadays SpongeBob is the show that mostly airs throughout the day on Nickelodeon. During the first 3 seasons his show aired the same amount of time as all the other shows. If SpongeBob had ended after the first movie like it was supposed to I guarantee you it wouldn't be so hated and would be looked back on as a classic like most 90s and early 2000s Nickelodeon shows.
I'm very glad I found this video, as I was just recently hoping that somebody made a video essay on why SpongeBob just didn't feel right after 2005. Lo and behold, you made a wonderful video. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Babyboodle "over-exaggeration of the character's traits" and "gross-out humor" that alienated the older audiences.
The latest live animation film and Season 10 and 11 are on the up and up.
Yeah, perfect analysis
Babyboodle I love spo
It was good after 05 what are you talking about
Season 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were good.
Great video! I definitely think the first few seasons of Spongebob are like perfect television. A clear drop-off after that.
Thanks Frank! :)
spongebob is a legend and legends never die.
Frank James I disagree.
TheGamepunch ._. Most people say that about every classic cartoon
Matthew Lucas Yeah, that’s pretty annoying.
Spongebob didn’t die Stephen Hillenburg died
R.I.P Stephen Hillenburg 1961-2018
2:38 Turned out to be his BIGGEST Mistake
Now he's dead, Nick will gonna ruin SpongeBob for money 😞
I really miss old spongebob
LeHiNaD19 Me to.
Ever heard of Netflix?
spongebob isn't on netflix .-.
Ren Hoek But I think he means he wants the quality of the old shows back lol
Congrats on 100k
Thank you!!
kable10 I know you hi!!!
My boi cable
Kable10
oh hey kable love ur sml parodies
6:47-6:56 thank you b_viacom, you muted that part...
Have yall seen some of thr new episodes? It's not even SpongeBob anymore 😕
Frl
Nickelodeon is a garbage
Well Hillenburg came back a while ago and the new episodes are solid.
Ęÿūį Æßñ
The sad thing is it probably won't last. He has ALS now. Most people who get it don't live another three years after diagnosis.
Jay J. Holy shit really???
Johnny Lonergan
yes.
Johnny Lonergan
He has said he plans to keep working on Spongebob until he becomes too weak to do it
QUICK, MAKE MEMES! It worked for Stefan Karl Stefenson, it should work with dear old Hillenburg
"Flanderization"
God, I finally have a word for "The Patrick Star Effect" that I (thought I) coined five years ago.
I named it that way due to the rapid devolution of Patrick, who was one of my favorite characters in the first couple of seasons. Patrick wasn't strictly an idiot back then, he was just an average guy who craved approval from others, and as a result pretended to be a lot of things that he just wasn't (this joke mainly being Patrick pretending to be smart, and knowing a lot of things he really didn't or just acting a certain way in order to blend in with the crowd, and thus lead to the conflict of the episode).
+cooldube56g-I'm not sure what the true definition of Flanderization is but to me, upon hearing that and knowing how Flanders utterly devolved in The Simpsons, it means taking one and ONLY one aspect of a character and utterly magnifying it to where it utterly engulfs a character entirely. For Flanders, it was obviously the fact in the early seasons, he was a devoted Christian, but still a genuinely nice and good person. At the time, Homer took issue with Flanders not because Flanders was sickeningly nice or because Flanders was too Christian for Homer-it was truly because Flanders was such a remarkably nice person and Homer wished he could be more like Flanders. Now, Flanders has full out devolved into a militant, intolerant Christian to anyone who doesn't sneeze the word "Jesus."
Basically, with Flanderization, or the "Patrick Star effect" as you put it, it's about taking that one aspect of a character and utterly magnifying it to where it engulfs and utterly destroys that character. For Flanders, it was his Christian devotion. For Patrick, it's easily his stupidity. Patrick wasn't always the brightest-he thought Spongebob's boating school was a college class, calling an elephant a giraffe, asking in front of Sandy, a homegrown Texas girl, what was so great about Texas anyway, is mayonnaise an instrument? :D, etc., but he wasn't a complete imbecile either. Like you said, he craved the attention and approval of others, but unlike Spongebob, was often lazy and didn't want to put in the hard work to get that. But also, he genuinely liked others and always wanted to be a good friend to the ones he cared about.
Patrick was often naive to the point of sheer innocence and lazy but he was also very focused and devoted to what he believed mattered most-which was mostly his friends, especially Spongebob. And of course later on, they magnified Patrick's stupidity to where he did become an imbecile-a dropling, braindead husk to where his stupidity became the ONLY thing that mattered about him.
Flanderization tends to happen way too much in comedy animated or live action shows where the writers clearly don't know where to go with the characters anymore and don't want to bother with the effort of fleshing them out at all. Even a little bit. So for the sake of being "funny," they take one aspect of a character and turn it to where it becomes the ONLY thing about that character and it utterly violates the heart and core of what made these characters so lovable in the first place.
I think SpongeBob died on February 19, 2007 when Season 5 first came out. Yeah, it does have a few good memorable episodes like Krabs á la mode and Roller Cowards but Season 5 was the official death of the show. I think everything just turned to crap after 2008.
No it did not.
Season 1-4 excellent
Season 5-8-ok
Season 9-present awful
If only the Simpsons would have a spark of creativity it once had like Spongebob is getting back
Preach!

The Simpsons characters were never written to be super 3 dimensional.
The thing that annoys me most about modern spongebob is just how disgusting and mean spirited it can be. Every single character is an asshole, especially Patrick. The show should’ve just ended after the first movie. Great video btw. Was curious, are you exclusive to film and tv, or would you ever consider covering any books or games?
Stobie I think the first movie is supposed to be the de facto end of SpongeBob in-universe and was supposed to be the end of the series proper, but, y’know, Nickelodeon cash cow.
I also feel like that hope at the end is tinged with bittersweetness, since Stephen Hillenburg is confirmed to have ALS, so there’s only so much more he can do with the show. But I hope it’s amazing.
Thank you! I have a lot of film/tv but I've recently started branching out into other aspects of art and pop culture. I've done videos on music, literature, painting and I'll continue to branch out and do a variety of topics. I would love to do video games but haven't found a unique topic I'd like to tackle yet. Any thoughts? What do you want to see?
Very sad about Hillenburg. Glad that he was able to share something that brought joy to so many people across the world.
Entertain The Elk not sure to be honest, I would say Dark Souls or indie games like Journey but i feel like they’ve been talked about to death. I wouldn’t mind seeing a video about video games movies considering Hollywood have been trying to make bank from that genre for so long but honestly, the very concept of adapting game to film is a heavily flawed one. Or even a video on the potential of movie licensed games seeing as we no longer get those unless they are IOS games. But whatever you do, I’ll watch it.
Entertain The Elk I can recommend Sonic The Hedgehog
It went from BOLD AND BRASH TO
*B E L O N G S I N T H E T R A S H*
I would say Season 6 is when the series died. Though it redeemed themselves in Season 9B.
The saddest part about Spongebob finally going back to true form after a decade is that, earlier this year, we found out that the ride may not last much longer.
I'm surprised you didn't mention this but in March, Hillenberg was diagnosed with ALS. He still stated he would continue working on the show as long as he is able...but just knowing that this show's ending could come as a result of the creator dying and not ending on his own terms is pretty heartbreaking honestly. Sadly, ALS patients are given a maximum of 2-5 years to live after diagnosis. And even still considering how much it affects one's brain, the show could end long before he passes. Very sad indeed but you have to admire the dedication the man has to his creation and the fans that, despite having the knowledge that he WILL die in a few years, he still continues to create. A truly incredible man; thank you, Mr. Hillenberg. :)
I really debated mentioning his ALS in the video, but I couldn't find a proper place to put it. I thought about mentioning it near the end, but then it felt like that would require it's own section of explanation. I wouldn't want to just gloss over that huge thing. But yes, terribly sad. But thankful that he created something that has brought so many people joy throughout the world.

Maybe they could give him one of those machines like Stephen Hawking uses
