  • We want to say a huge thank you to Barbara for sharing her experiences in the video below of being Deaf and using our hospitals this #NationalInclusionWeek.
We know we don’t always get it right which is why we’re committed to listening to feedback and taking actions to improve our services.
This year we have introduced Deaf Awareness training courses, simplified the booking of BSL interpreters and increased our communications around accessibility.
We’re so grateful to the BSL Community and other communities for sharing their feedback, we know we still have more to do and we will continue to work together to make a difference for all people with hearing loss.
If you or your family member is Deaf and uses BSL and would like to share your feedback, please contact the Patient Voice and Involvement team:
Use our BSL video service to contact us: www.ekhuft.nhs.uk/information...
    Select ‘Kent and Canterbury’
Tell the BSL interpreter you want to contact the Patient Voice and Involvement team.
    or text 07955 320771

This is quite impressive. Awareness and training will be helpful.
