  • As the end of Genshin Impact's Teyvat Chapter approaches, a question steadily becomes more relevant to the plot: When the Traveler reaches the end of their journey... Who will they choose to side with?
With the shadows of war growing ever more prominent, it will be vital for the Traveler to make the right choice.
So, let's talk about it (also let's talk about Neuvillette)!

For me, it makes no sense. Like that sounds to me like the one thing, any god that fears Celestia won't do. Like Orobashi was sentenced to death for simply reading a book. Imagine what happens to anyone that now effectively acts on it..
Also, there's the fact of what happens when the Tsaritsa finds out, because let's be real, surely she finds out eventually and when that happens, don't you think she's just gonna send another harbinger back to Mondstat..
Anyway, idk. I won't count any of this out because, anything is possible but given the fate of the vishaps thus far, to me it fully makes sense that the archons opt not to rock that particular boat.

I don’t think the Traveler will choose the side of their sibling.
Our sibling told us to finish our journey. Well, while on our journey, we encounter several people- including the archons of each nation- and so far, NONE of them know who our twin is; meanwhile, the Traveler is making a name for themselves all across Teyvat. Either our twin kept a low profile or they took an entirely different journey across Teyvat. Was our twin even looking for us or were they just wandering around?
I also think our twin had an entirely different experience, as their journey was interrupted after meeting Chlothar Alberich in Sumeru, then joined the side of the Abyss. It makes me wonder if our twin ever made it to Fontaine, and if they did, did they get around enough to discover that Neuvillette was the dragon Sovereign. Judging by the fact that no prominent figures in other nations know who our twin is, probably not.
Ultimately, it looks like no matter what side is chosen, 3 of the 4 sides are all targeting Celestia.

The thing is we dont actually know the "truth of teyvat", we dont know how it came to be, who created it, how the dragon sovereigns formed or even got to teyvat. All this is essential when it comes to making a decision.
When I heard that the primodial one, took part of the power of the dragons to make the gnosis. It makes me wonder how were they just able to do that, click the fingers and some small portion of the power suddenly leave the dragons and go into making these gnosis? Why didnt they just take ALL the power of the dragons away if they had the power to take a portion? The dragon sovereigns are like batteries for elemental power, storing and concentrating one element or another. They throw the term usurper around a lot but that whole term comes into question for example if the priomordial one created teyvat in the first place, left for some time then came back to find the dragons in charge.

Also the enigmatic "dragon king" who brought forbidden knowledge into teyvat in the first place who are they? The "second who came" all but destroying the world just to tear the primordial one and it's creations away. All these are essential when it comes to deciding who to support and if you make that decision without all these background facts you'll be without a doubt making a BAD decision. And thats without knowing also who the members of the hexenzirkel or PAIMON really is because she is definitely someone special and always has been.

My theory in answer to this question is that, the dragons now make up Teyvat and it's structure almost in entirety. From what I understand of the Fontaine glider is that Teyvat wasn't a planet before, but a realm of elemental draconic beings, known as vishaps. Vishaps that functioned in a superorganism-like structure. Large Vishap Sovereigns which contained domains within themselves and subjects within those domains, their children, these subjects were sustained by the domains. My belief is that the domains/Sovereigns are sustained by the Honkai imaginary tree or by another domain linked to that tree, the Omni Sovereign.
Basically, I think the Sovereigns are domains which Phanes conquered and made into Teyvat, with what I believe to be forbidden knowledge of some form, Forbidden Knowledge that might be what is known as "Void", "Honkai" or "Ruin". At least that's my theory. I know that the current story is that the 2nd Descender brought Forbidden Knowledge into Teyvat but I don't believe that that's the full story.
I also believe that even Phanes is an advanced human that has transcended into a higher being, basically what beings in Teyvat call "gods".

Yes, that is correct. But when stating that you have to keep in mind, that the dragons have not yet begun doing anything against celestia, at least as far as we know. If the dragons start plotting and preparing to overthrow celestia, who is to say they will still strictly follow this no-harm-to-humans policy?

Azhdaha has the ability to see the memories of stone/minerals,(we dont know yet the full extent of his powers) but thats already crazy shit op.
If he isn’t a Sovereign then he’s definitely NOT a normal vishap.
(In Neuvillette’s story quest - the cutscene where it rained hard/down poured we could see him going through the past memories of fontainans, while it rained so he prob has an ability to see the past memories of people through rain, somewhat anyway.)
Also another thing to consider is that according to Neuvillette, he succeded and became the current heier of the water sovereign. So, could any dragon have the potential to succeed and become a Sovereign?
I mean, it kinda makes sense if any dragon can succeed the title of one. It’s like a direct parallell where any dragon can ascend to the throne whilst humans can’t. (At the moment)

      So a serpent/vishap is technically a dragon.
Also in real life mythology dragon seems to be a combination or description of a snake.
The common distinction for a dragon and a vishap is that vishaps can’t fly while dragons can, is there any other more?
(The 4.0 world quest about Anne and the play act also said something about Dragons I dont remember much though, but they implied that any giant beast could be considered a dragon. Again I dont remember but they said something about Dragons and Oceanids.)

Really, hard to say right now. There is still quite a bit of story that could yet throw some curve balls. You got all these factions but there is still the possibility the MC might not ultimately side with any of these factions. There could be some great big conflict in the end and the MC doesn't side with any faction directly and finds a way to make peace in some way. I don't see them siding with the Abyss order. I would not be surprised if they find some way to cure the cursed people of the Abyss order effectively doing away with that faction. The MC hates the Fatui though I expect that by the time we get their region the MC will do some things with them. The dragons will be involved but they could get their power back and still let the humans govern their on affairs much like how the Adeptus did Liyue. It could be a thing where they cure the Abyss order, the sibling is redeemed and they go off to catch up and have adventures again. We still have what two more full areas to play through. Could be any kinda plot twist put down on us.

I don't think Paimon represents celestia. The reason being her design is based on The Final Herrscher. She also has a Demon's Name like the Archons, but that is not a good thing that means she's on their side considering the role of The Final Herrscher. The Final Herrscher's role is to take all of the other Herrscher's powers and completely overthrow their authority because they had to have failed for The Final Herrscher to exist. Paimon might have a similar role. Her hairpin is The Stigmata of Finality which means she's likely stronger than every faction combined united against her. The Power of that Stigmata makes you a planet destroyer by default. The other Archons might know any hidden roles she has as well because they all know who she is ahead of time. She also does not hide any of this. She openly shows that Stigmata which means we might actually be threatening the Dragons and Archons by showing up with her.
There is another thing too about Paimon though. Over the Travels she has basically become your sister. I don't believe the Traveler at the end will choose their original sibling over her. I think the Traveler will choose Paimon over all other sides. Which also means that they will ally with a little of everyone in the meantime. I think Paimon is going to be one of the last playable characters added to the game.
Paimon might be a fallen angel. Not an angel. She might have goals she is aware of that you aren't. Just like the Traveler has knowledge that they tell no one. The traveler fully knows who they are, what their powers are, their origins, but they choose not to tell anyone even Paimon. We don't know what they told Paimon, but she is generally clueless whenever she learns info related to them that they hid. These are suspicious points because there is no reason to hide that info unless there is some kind of duty or title related to it. I suppose a lot of it there would also be no reason to tell without being asked as well though.
I would side with Paimon no matter what, but I would also force Paimon to be on the side that involves not killing all of the characters I rolled for. xD

Something else to think about, the Dragon Lords are most likely the 'human' faction, the one where basically all the playable character are in. Neuvillette's whole thing is upholding justice, to the point of sending Childe to jail and giving us an actual charge for Meriopede instead of false one. Yet, at the end of Act IV, he says he's sorry for destroying the punishment, and so he believes the punishment is justice, because he has no anger, only sorrow.
Then as you said, Dvalin and Azhdaha protect humanity, and it took a lot to get them to the states they were at to die.
Apep just cares for the Usurpers, and is fine with humans being around, provided they leave him alone basically.
The Fatui, we have no clue what they're endgame is, a new order with them ruling or something else. Abyss Order just wants destruction, and you see the Order attack the Nations regardless of their guilt. Celestia is maintaining the status quo, and from what we've seen of the status quo, provided they don't do a full on 'here's them actually being good the whole time' thing, that is not a good thing for humanity

In Star rail, they say it has something to do with the buildup of memories and emotions. Which is weird for several reasons, no1 is that normally, memories naturally fade with time, human brains are made more to forget than to remember because we cannot handle the overload of information. no2 is that the Mara can alter a persons appearance, not quite making them look like monsters, but it can glue armor to the body...almost seemingly making it a part of the body...just how does memories do that? then coming to snezhnaya after getting a deeper connection and acquaintance with the archons, dragons, and fatui factions in natlan, will learn that the tsaritsa is sympathetic or was convinced by the cryo sovereign to rebel against celestia.
revealing that their plan all along was to collect the gnosi so they could return the powers to the dragons.
I believe at this point we will join the fatui and version 7 will be about freeing and helping the remaining sovereigns (i.e. releasing the electro sovereign, curing/saving the cryo sovereign) and returning their authorities to them, with version 8 being our assault on celestia, and version 9 being our confrontation with the abyss alongside whatever allies are left alive.

I think dragon sovereigns are simply the strongest dragon aligned to the element in question. To me, strongest evidence is Zhongli. It is very likely that he is a dragon as that is the form he takes and he is confirmed to be an adeptus. As far as we know, adepti are pretty much immortal beings that are animal-like creatures capable of transforming into human form. Considering Zhongli or any other adepti has not showcased the ability to shapeshift to anything at will but only a human and animal form, it would make sense that Morax has 2 forms, just being the dragon and Zhongli. Zhongli has been around for 6000+ years, which means he would have witnessed the coming of the Primordial One and all that occurred thereafter. Him being a dragon would make sense why he is so powerful as apart from being a dragon, he actually had his geo authority this whole time and is a full fledged sovereign. Azhdaha who is the king of the geovishaps, still submit to Zhongli, what being other than the Geo Sovereign could be so powerful? Also, even though he says he is stepping down due to erosion, he shows no signs of it being the oldest known character in the game and if Apep is anything to go off of, beings not under Celestia such as the sovereigns, are not susceptible to erosion. So now why would he pose as a "usurper"? Well one reason could be to regain his full authority by winning the archon war. It is also theorized that the Primordial One actually lost to The Second Who Came and therefore the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles who seems to be in control of Celestia is not actually of the same faction that defeated the sovereigns. Therefore someone like Zhongli would actually have no issue aligning with them, until the cataclysm where it is evident that all of the archons lost respect for Celestia.

I'm trying to be helpful to "My Name For Now" with this comment.... Not trying to troll.
I didn't see a spoiler warning for Chainsaw man.
I don't really care about that series (I'm just not big into that type of series, nothing against it).

But I thought I should mention that you might want to put one, somewhere noticeable, to save grief later.
I like your videos, though I rarely comment.

Erosion is technically a legitimate concept. I presume it is based on a biological study about human brains, stating that the maximum memory capacity humans posess is for about 200-250 years, after which memory loss and corruption is guaranteed to start to occur. Zhongli, albeit not being "human" in the traditional sense, still has a biology of some sort, and as that study suggests, brains have a hard cap on how many years of memories they can contain. Zhongli and Azdaha being 4000+ years old will for sure put them over any superhuman limits they may have, ushering a loss of memories.
In Genshin, it might not even be a biological limit, but more a "soul" limit, set in Irmunsul by Celestia, so they can avoid there being 'souls' with too much memories of past civilization ending events and such. That in turn makes the World Tree easier to maintain as it would require less manual intervention to delete undesired memories in the long run, since they will naturally deteriorate.

The way pneuma and ousia are currently implemented in Fontaine characters as not being exactly an element but rather a secondary characteristic of an element immedialtely reminds me of the elements system in Final Fantasy XIV: any element can be tinted with variable amounts of light or dark, called astral and umbral energy. For example fire tinted with light is called astral fire, fire tinted with dark is umbral fire, etc. Well in Genshin we'll probably end up with light and dark as separate elements, but food for thoughts I guess.

Traveler will definitely ultimately align with the dragons. I've been sensing it since Sumeru, and Fontaine is only cementing it for me and I couldn't be happier if that ends up being the case. As much as I like the Fatui, they are incredibly powerful but still in over their heads. The Tsaritsa is looking worse and worse the more we find out what type of monsters she tapped for her Harbingers. There's no way Traveler will be able to excuse it. I think in the end the ones who are still worth anything redemption-wise will have left for personal reasons, anyway. If they don't, they and the others will likely die, like Signora. (Personally I can't wait for Wanderer to get his hands on Dottore.) I also think Dainsleif is already working towards the Dragons being his allegiance although it seems unclear whether he has fully reached that conclusion for himself or not yet. Just my current theories.

It's not really ethical considerations regarding Tsaritsa's downfall, it's the fundemental dysfunction of harbringers as a whole.
Ever since the traveller began their journey, harbringers have been falling apart one by one. Childe makes it clear that basically none of the other harbringers are actually loyal/care about the Tsaritsa's cause.
Signora is dead, Wanderer erased himself from history, Dottore just wants to do his research, Money guy wants money etc etc.
      They're doomed to fail.

I am not surprised most people sided with either the Fatui or the Dragon Sovereigns sheerly due to lack of information, motives & most definitely, playable characters from Celestia & the Abyss Order. We have so much info on the Fatui currently and can have a guess that their main goal may not be so evil after all, while we recently got to know Neuvillette and some hints on what happened to the dragons.
Celestia & Abyss Order on the other hand, lacks so much info that we don't have any emotional attachment to any of these factions which definitely could change in the future. I would bet if we we're to pick which side we're on right after Version 1.1, no one will pick the Fatui as we only see them as "the bad guys" that point in time.

I made a hypostasis that Dain may be Nibelung(the dragon king) or being possessed be him.
This is because he know alot and seem to be very natural with the conflict. He said memory was fading which could mean his mind is being overriding.
One quest mention he was holding a ring which people say has connection with the real life myth. By the event of the lore his body my not be the result of abyssal corruption but something else taking over his body.
He seem to have a very knowable repertoire on everyone history maybe via leylines. Plus in the first trailer, he seem to want test you for some reason.
If my Dain is Nibelung hypothesis is correct, than traveler would most likely side with the dragon. Although I am still lacking something to prove my hypothesis.

Dain is literally a patriot fighting for his homeland to rid themselves of the abyss which ruined them.

Didn’t Neuvillette say that the only way the Sovereigns can reclaim their power/authority is if the Archon disappears (perhaps die)? Unless, he never considered an Archon would ever willingly hand the power of the gnosis over to the respective dragon sovereign (due to his philosophy on ‘the importance of one’s continued survival’). Then again, I’ve seen time and time again that the gnosis comes from Celestia, so would an Archon even have the ability to extract the power of the gnosis? Perhaps because Venti was originally an anemo sprite, *that* was the true power that was shared with Dvalin?
But because I want the idea of Venti handing the authority over to Dvalin to be true, considering everything said in the video, perhaps that’s why Celestia is positioned over the area between Fontaine and Mondstadt???? Genshin lore is so exciting, I can’t wait to know more lol

  • @hikari9262
    @hikari9262 Před 6 měsíci +1

12:54 Authority probably pertains to the respective archons' divine thrones. And it would require an enormous amount of power to destroy one throne, as said by Focalors when she needed 500 years to accumulate indemnitium.
So I don't think it can be easily handed over, because if that were the case, there was no need for Focalors to do what she did.

  • @Xelluse
    @Xelluse Před 7 měsíci +2

Dragons are like - there are a lot of different creatures livin' on my land, and now there are humans too ? OK.... I don't mind....
Also I want to add that Abyss Order is not Abyss itself, as we can see from creations of Gold, both Dragons Durin and Elynas were not "bad guys", they have seen things differently and Elynas do not even wants to be revived, cos knows that it will cause only problems for Humanity, also we can't be actually sure that Riftwolfs are really bad guys and do not see the world the way Durin and Elynas have seen before, but unlike that Dragons Riftwolfs are not intelligent enough to understand that they harm... And we know that Gold used some sort of "souls" from Abyss, so Abyss itself have some life in it and it does not look that it's intentionally hostile for Teyvat.
Also Genshin loves to play with perspectives and Sinner also is not a bad guy from his perspective, so the same is for Order, like Ordo(Order) Narzissenkreuz (that most likely is an Allegory for an Abyss Order, as Genshin loves to play with allegories in its story), so their vision was - if we must face an Apocalypse, then we need to change and get prepared to survive it, so I think we will have some interactions and even some cooperation with Abyss Order too, but maybe to change their point of view. We had Alliance with Fatui in past, with Tartaglia, we even played their game, but still remain on opposite site for that moment, and even fight against 11th Harbinger in the end, to go our way, we even helped some Fatui officers, I mean, that circumstances will make alliances in Genshin, that alliances should not be permanent and can even change to conflict in the end to go back to natural again, so I think that Traveler will be allied with different factions, to introduce them, to show their visions and perspectives, before decision will be made.... Also we still do not know were is Teyvat and why sky is really a fake and what is beyond that Fake Sky - "new friend or a new storm ?"......

Yes, I hope you're right about that.
To be honest, I don't really see total evil in all of them.
Of course not all of them are good, but those who are have to be protected.
      No matter which side.
Everyone just wants to have peace and be free in the end.
And I think they all deserve it.
Every character in Genshin deserves to live in peace.
      I see it that way.
We will fight with Dainslif until he feels defeated.
After all, he said that we have to fight against him and prove ourselves.
And then we all rally together and defeat Celestia.
Whoever is there will be judged just as Celestia was.
Too many innocent people died and suffered.
We defeat Celestia and free our twin.
Then we will watch over the world while everyone can live in freedom.
Or Paimon becomes stronger and has a heart of gold and she watches over Teyvat.
We stop by Khanriah's to see if anyone else is there.
I wonder if Anfortas is still alive, after all we don't know anything about his whereabouts. Whether he is dead or not. Time in Khanriah can work completely differently.
Kaeya will come with you and help if there are any survivors.
And then we find out the real truth.
As Dainslif once said, “Only the winners tell the stories.”
Those affected by the curse will live until they are redeemed (if they can no longer be helped)
And Dainslif and Pierro live until they die peacefully.
I just don't know how we'll deal with the truth of Teyvat once we find out.
It's just a little theory of mine.
And that only works if the Genshin manga is at least somewhat canon (which I don't know)
But I feel like Celestia needs souls to keep Teyvat going.
When Vanesse climbs up to Celesti and later comes out as a falcon, Venti said something like that the world is a little stronger now.💙

I think dvalin being a sovereign is feasible, after all, neuvillette himself was just the hydro dragon reincarnate. Surely the sovereigns have the power to atleast shapeshift, like how venti and zhongli does quite easily. with that logic, dvalin might just prefer to be a dragon instead of human form, and is the reincarnation of the anemo sovereign. Same goes with azhdaha since he has muuuch much much significance to Liyue's history, protecting the whole nation with zhongli, compared to other elemental beings like the adepti who did participatr in the wars, azhdaha is just on his own league.
And also their level of consciousness is not common in elemental beings, only being present in very powerful elemental beings like the 4 winds, adepti, bosses (the electro bat, there are exceptions like the primo vishap which is just natural life that encountered special circumstances that made them that powerful, another is the electro seahorse and mushroom chicken. It's also if they had involvement with archons, because technically the Wenut is a descendant of Apep the dragon, but they're not dragon sovereigns and are just natural life, because they are being hunted by eremites).
So i think there is a big chance they atleast are a reincarnation of the dragon sovereigns who happened to be found by the archons, because even Neuvillette came almost the same time as when Furina came alive, just after the war when focalors was chosen as the next archon.
