This video is the first entry in my Sun & Moon series, and who better to start with than the illustrious emergency food herself: Paimon! She is among the most mysterious entities we've been introduced to in Genshin Impact. Although she is our travel companion, we know next to NOTHING about her. Despite this, MiHoyo has left several clues scattered throughout the main story, deep and hidden lore, and game design that gives us a roadmap to understanding just who (and what) Paimon is. She is the key to many doors behind which many answers to many questions in Genshin Impact rest. Let's open them all.

Theres also something else to consider with Paimon's design, and that the next region (Hopefully Sumeru), will reveal maybe everything we will need.
Paimon's design isn't very Asian Inspired like Venti's as Mondstadt is very European in design. It could be easily mistaken for typical anime/videogame bullshit of the only cultures that exist are european and pale skin asian cultures such as chinese, japanese, and Korean.
HOWEVER, if the other regions are also Asian inspired, such as I think Sumeru may be based off of India, then it's even more revealing that Paimon is not just unaffiliated with the current Archons but that she may also be one of the many remnants of the ancient civilization of Khanriah (not sure if I spelled that right)
Also Sumeru is affiliated with Wisdom like how Mondstadt is affiliated with Freedom. So with the release of the Sumeru region & characters we may end up learning much more about the lore and Paimon in return. But if Sumeru is vital in revealing Paimon's identity and other pieces of lore, I have a feeling that they might save Sumeru for the last region release.

At first I thought you were implying that Paimon and her magnates were the rulers of that aristocratic Mondstadt, but then I realized that it was the mention of "lord and magnates" that made Venti drift his thoughts towards them

Yeah. You did this very well. Excellent work! It is super clever too, keeps things creepy. Maybe it's just me, I think mimics are the creepiest things we have thought up as yet, and a seelie mutating into a humanoid seems an awful lot like a mimic in my sights. Just sane. I love it. Carry on.
You forgot that Venti mocks Paimon in the first Archon quest in Stormterror's Lair! It's the only time anyone shows evidence of a previous or longer relationship with Paimon in the game (to my knowledge). It may not be important at all, but it feels kinda sus considering all the evidence of Paimon being the god of time and that Wind and Time were worshipped TOGETHER
I am going to talk more about their relationship in the Venti video because their teasing of each other is definitely super sus! It feels like they tease each other the same way friends might, or actually, how SIBLINGS might!

There's a new cutscene on Lantern Rite 2023 where Venti went to Liyue for the event. Venti said on her entrance behind a door before going in "Seeds of story, brought by the wind" and Paimon replies unconsciously with "and cultivated by time!"

The Traveller said that he/she's gonna start asking more about Paimon so I think Mohoyo planned to start uncovering more mysteries about Paimon starting on Sumeru.
Paimon isn’t istaroth (god of wind and time). Istaroth and Venti knew each other well. But when he sees Paimon he doesn’t mention anything and mostly ignores her. Their interactions are minimal.
More likely Paimon is Phanes, possibly the primordial one who has wings and a crown.
But then there’s questions about why her designs has a lot of elements from of that celestia? Plus the triqueta(I’m sure I spelled this very incorrectly) on her clothes is upside down rather than upright.
That could be true. But it could be that paimon is a weaker version of Phanes. Ya know. My theory is that paimon could be one of the shades. ( which I don’t believe my self) but it could be a highly unlikely possibility
@@Live_laugh_love_DEATH actually, worth noting, i’ve looked into her a bit more and I think she IS one of his shades. I think paimon is one of the 3 moon sisters, which were 3 of the shades. Istaroth being another of the shades means paimon may have known her, but likely isn’t her. Her design is incredibly similar to the moon sister on the welkin moon blessing. And they have the same tri-pointed knot design on their clothes that we don’t see anywhere else. Same white hair and primogem accessory as well.

@@Zeke1460 That doesn't mean anything though, we don't know what kind of relationship Venti and Istaroth had so we can't say wether Venti knew Istaroth well or not, and even if he knew Istaroth is Paimon he might just be hiding it like he does with a lot of things, also we don't know who are the 3 shades and 3 moon sisters seem very unlikely, like why would the 3 shades be moons and only 1 of them be different and the god of time ? that's just very unlikely.

I love how venti is one of the most mysterious character if you compare it to his personality. He knows alot more than we expected.
so this comment will probably be lost among the others lol, but there are some other interesting things about Paimon from the actual Chinese words used to describe her!
firstly, Verr Goldet at Wangshuu Inn calls her "jīnglíng" (精灵) which can be used for things like elves, fairies, sprites, etc. This same thing in Chinese has been used when talking about Klee/Alice and Barbados' form as a wind elf before he became the archon and took the form of the bard
secondly, Starsnatcher (the fake Yaksha) calls Paimon a "talking fairy"/"talking mini Seelie" (会说话的小仙灵 -- '仙灵' being Seelie), but even so Paimon seems confused by this
also, Mona is unable to see Paimon's constellation or any information about who/what she is or where she comes from... the only other character Mona tries to and is blocked from reading is Venti
add: this is probably a stretch, but I also think it's interesting that when you place Paimon in the Serenitea Pot, an "autonomous pocket world", she doesn't pop up when you open the menu in the tea pot hmmm
I mean, Paimon disappears during Ventis quest because shes ask to leave (in a subtle matter, ig xd) by the traveler, and, well, tthanks to her dialogues, it seems like she cant enter the plain of euthamia, only the traveler can do so (at least at the start. I suppose is because Ei was only interested in the traveler, not in paimon herself, so she only lets them enter alone, until her little quest when Paimon and you go to ask her to hang out. Thats the first and only time Paimon enters the place).
ye this is true! i'm just. confused as to how attached Paimon is to the Traveler? Albedo even describes her as an external organ of sorts, so I wonder how far each of them can physically be away from each other
@@TheLittleOnionThatCould I wouldn't be surprised if Paimon turned on the Traveler late in the game. Even the Abyss Pyro Lector mentioned it. It makes me wonder if something similar happened to Lumine 500 years earlier when.
You know, from an angle, Paimon’s crown looks like a crescent moon. I just find that another interesting detail. Also, very impressed at how well you meshed various theories on Paimon together. The Archons aren’t a race as Zhongli was an Adeptus and Venti was a wind spirit, so I can see a Seelie being a god (makes me wonder what Ei and Makoto were originally). Looking forward to your next video
Clarification here:
Adeptus is not a race but state/art form.
Zhongli is an hybrid Qilin and dragon (the prime adeptus)
Cloud retainer, Moon carver and Mountain shaper are iluminated Beasts (also state) are adepti too (are in the same state/use the adeptal art)
Iluminated beasts = likely creature that attended Ilumination (a budhism thing)
Adepti = a state and an art form.
Yaksha in the contrary are a race ... or are they ?
Xiao is a birb possibly a Benu or the other one I forgor

I mean, if Xiangling can just casually throw around a god and have it follow her around, it's no surprise to imagine the Traveler could have something the same. But to me, the Traveler is more mysterious. With clothes that belong to this world (due to the similar aesthetic to ancient civilizations), that means prior to their arrival in Teyvat, they most likely wore something else so we don't even really know how they dress in their og goners world, much less a location. That and what could make a "god" give their loyalty to them. What's higher than a god? (Is this why Xiangling's the spear DPS/support archon-) And why a Luminiferous Aether?

Also, the relations to moons and kheanri’ah. First of all it’s ruling entity is called the eclipse dynasty, Dainsleif says it was swallowed by the Crimson moon. Albedos master, Rhinedottir, in Norse mythology there is the Rhinemaidens and it just so happens to be that there are three of them.
No one but aether or yae could enter the plane of euthymia. Aether somehow managed to slip into the plane when he first confronted raiden, Yae points out that she believes this is because Ei had taken an interest in the traveller. Yae is the only other person who could enter the plane (aside from Ei herself) because she put her consciousness into an item and gave it to aether so he could bring her in when he entered the plane for the second time.
I don't doubt she's keeping her distance from the archons as they know a fair bit about celestia, and paimon being from celestia means she probably ran into the 7 at some point even if she doesn't;t remember. But I still think the reason she wasn't in the plane of euthymia is due to her being left behind by Ei's consciousness.
I agree that's the most likely reason! But it's possible Paimon still could've slipped in maybe if she wanted to? Just hear me out a second and jump down this rabbit hole with me lol
Yae was able to trick Ei's gatekeeping by Aether bringing in an item with her consciousness in it. It wasn't because Ei allowed Yae in. Paimon could theoretically do this herself. Paimon appears and disappears at will, to where we don't know, and Albedo speculates she is an external organ of sorts, perhaps implying that she's, to some degree, a PART of Aether. She doesn't seem too keen on being too far away from him (or letting him get too far away from her). There's also that weird scene that annoys me to this day during the Childe boss fight where she falls with Aether despite being able to fly (it would make sense that she was pulled down with him if they were somehow TETHERED to each other, but still there are some inconsistencies).
She might be able to go wherever he goes using their unspecified "connection", and that might've allowed her to sneak into the Plane of Euthymia without Ei accepting her in? Idk lol. This is mostly just me speculating the extent to which Paimon can actually be away from the Traveler, and whether or not she can "bend the rules" when it comes to certain things!
Anyway tl;dr per usual I'm overcomplicating things but it's fun to think about stuff like this!

My theory, Paimon is a guardian chosen by Celestia or a vessel of Celestia. Chosen to protect the traveler. Because they are the ideal candidate to defeat the unknown God.
9:38 Allow me to say something wholesome, when I started playing Genshin, I called the Sealies “Little Friends.” Now I know what they are called, so I call them “Sealie Friends” and even have my own Treasure Hunter Sealie of which I named Penny, she is a Pink Sealie and I named her Penny because that’s the name of my cat and I wanted her to have a form in Genshin like me having Aether to live through, she has a pink flying Sealie to live through! Just a little thing I wanted to share!

I've been doing a bit of comparative research on the three Goddesses and felt I should share some of my findings, but I have a couple of things I want to say first.
I feel that the Cryo Archon is most likely based off of Bronya Zaychik, as she's the Herrescher Reason and is strongly associated with Ice in both the original Honkai Impact 3rd as well as her adult Silver Wing and Star Rail versions, she's also from Russia, which Snezhnaya is based on, and like Raiden is an important main character to the series.
Likewise, I believe that the Hydro Archon is likely based off of Seele Vollerei, who is another major character in the Honkai series. Seelie has a strong association with Water and has a split personality, so the Balancing Scale is often used to symbolize her two sides, the Scale has also long been associated as a symbol for Justice.
Now, Bronya and Seelie grew up in an orphanage and were raised by a woman named Cocolia, and Bronya looked up to her as a mother figure, Cocolia also has a Star Rail equivalent that is associated with Ice. Interestingly enough, La Signora bears a striking resemblance to Cocolia, and Venti refers to Signora as borrowing her master's face, but chances are he wouldn't know the current Cryo Archon, do to his absence for a number of years. So I think that the current Cryo Archon (Bronya), gave Signora an artificial body based on the appearance of the previous Cryo Archon (Cocolia), who was probably killed by Venti do to corruption, hence the Cryo Archon's grudge towards him, and her change of heart.
Okay, with that out of the way, onto the three Goddesses.
The same orphanage where Bronya and Seelie grew up was also home to three other girls: Rozaliya Olenyeva, Liliya Olenyeva and Sin Mal.
Rozaliya's Chinese and Japanese voice actresses are the same as Paimon's, and both characters are featured in the Genshin x Honkai collab event, where their similar voices led to occasional jokes.
Rozaliya and Liliya are obviously references to the flowers Rose and Lily, however there could be a deeper esoteric connection when you look farther into the names.
Aphrodite is the Goddess of Roses, and while she is known as the Goddess of Love and is associated with the planet Venus, her Norse equivalent Freya is a Gemini, having associations with the Moon, and the much older Sumerian Inanna, who was known by her later name as Ishtar, was also a Gemini, having associations with both the Moon and Venus, meaning that the Greek Aphrodite and Artemis were originally one and the same, but split into two separate Goddess when absorbed into later cultures.
Simply put, Rozaliya can be associated with several Goddesses of the Moon, dating back to Sumerian times, but I'll get back to her later.
Liliya is a Russian variant of Lily, which comes from Lilith, who was Adam's first wife in Hebrew tradition, but may have been a later form of Ninlil, the wife of Enlil in Sumerian culture. Ninlil is also the Sumerian counterpart to Persephone, one of the trio of Moon phase goddesses.
Then we have the character Sin Mal, who shares the name with the Sumerian Moon God Nanna Sin, who was Ninlil's first son and the father of Inanna, so I find it interesting how these three characters could, to a certain degree, possibly be connected, of course this is a huge stretch but it's likely more than a coincidence considering the amount of detail and research Mihoyo will put into their plots.
According to Teyvat's lore, the Goddess of the Thousand Winds of Time was named Istaroth, a variant of Astaroth, which was a male Hebrew alteration of the Goddess Ishtar, meaning that the God of Time in Teyvat is directly associated with Innana, and we've now gone full circle.
Rozaliya's main outfit also has two of the same star shaped hair ornaments on her head as Paimon, so while the characters don't look anything alike, I think there is a strong possibility that they have a connection, at least enough to indicate that Liliya and Sin's voice actresses will probably play the other sisters, if they should ever appear.
Istaroth was also one of four beings created by the Primordial One, so if Istaroth is one of Teyvat's three Moons, than the fourth is probably the Sun, and maybe even the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, as the solar system revolves around the Sun, but I need to do more research into that.
For a final point, ending my wall of text, if Paimon is Istaroth, and we assume that her sister Moon Goddess descended elsewhere, then it's possible that the her sister may have served as a secondary deity in that region, like with Mondstadt worshiping both the Anemo and Time deities, so maybe the Traveler will run into her when they reach Snezhnaya? Don't know, just wanted to share the thought.
Damn this was rather thorough! I know very little about Honkai other than some of the research I've done for part 2, so this was very interesting and enlightening to read! You should make theory videos; this was super coherent and well-researched!

Unfortunately I missed the Genshin collab event for Honkai, cause I had some login issues at the time and missed several months, but some of the players have uploaded the whole event to CZcams, so I highly suggest watching it.
A couple of things to note about researching Honkai, there are several Wikis, and unfortunately all of them are badly managed, there are also some players that completely reject the idea that Genshin and Honkai are connected, even though it is completely canon to the series, and the writers admit it.
Another suggestion is to look into the character Fallen Rosemary, as she's most likely from Teyvat, and in the Mihoyo video titled: "V4.2 Battlesuit [Fallen Rosemary] Trailer - Honkai Impact 3rd", one of the official writers shows her in a scene next to Dvalin.
Hmm i’ve always associated the Cryo Archon with Ana but you know what, what if the first Cryo Archon was based off Ana? I mean doesn’t Signora resemble both Ana and Cocolia?

@@Palsa-Achilleus Respectfully, I don't understand how Fallen Rosemary would be from Teyvat. That was Otto taking advantage of the Nagazora Honkai outbreak and took a peek into the other bubble universes to gather more intel about the imaginary tree and ultimately come closer to his goal of reviving Kallen as we now currently see in chapter 27 and ongoing. Dvalin was nod that Genshin is definitely somehow related and/or in the mihoyo multiverse and while FR could just be a peek into the existence of the captainverse, since the latter exists within the Honkai universe-- its just a bubble universe, just like how we have Kongming, Delta, Bronie and etc.
The point of that was, yes, other worlds exist in the midst of the Imaginary Tree and the Sea of Quanta, which is exactly what Otto wanted to comfirm, hence we now see Otto trying to turn back time via the Tree and have the present erased just so he could go back to the past where Kallen was still alive. Like a computer with a save file, its like reloading a save, and the bubble universes are like different folders with their specific content inside of them that you are able to view and access.
Paimon being our vision and perhaps even a god is alluded to when we meet Kazuha. He says that Paimon has the "fragrance" of wind, earth and the stars. At this point in the game the traveler can only wield anemo and geo, this being a quest before Inazuma came out.

I love this video, to where it actually has me thinking: Since Paimon does have constellations when she moves, Did Paimon secretly give Traveler some ability? Cause whenever you afk in the game, traveler does a hand motion that has constellations appear in the hand. Maybe this was already answered and I haven’t seen the answer or this can be a total Mystery.
If im not wrong, during the catactlysm in the chasm, the main thing that caused the tradegy in chasm was known as a gray/white meteor. It could probably be a corpse of one of the moon sisters, and the seelie could be their remaining soul. Kind of like in eis story quest where makoto appeared like a electro ball which looks alot like the electro seelie, and we also know that it was not the actual Makoto which instead is the left over of her soul. It kinds of make sense that the corpse caused it, because it could be similiar to archon residue. Overall, i think paimon being one of the moon sisters makes more sense than the rest, though it is just my opinion :)

Well, if Paimon is really one of the 3 moon sisters there are another connection to Venti. As we all know Venti is a bard. A bard makes poem, music, and songs, Venti is a bard as I've said thus he makes poem, music, and songs this is true since Dvalin took a liking to Venti's music and he teaches how to make poems so he has a level of proficiency in it. What are the connections I'm speaking? Well first is where do usually Bard's perform? At taverns, when do people mostly go to a tavern? At night, when do the moon shines? Also at night. Another one is the 3 moon sisters' name. Aria, Sonnet, and Canon. Aria is a type of music, Canon is a type of music composition, and Sonnet is a type of poem. Personally I think Paimon could be Aria if she is the God of time, why? Aria's etymology comes from both greek and latin words for "air". What is the anemo archon capable of manipulating? Wind, what is air? The horizontal motion of Wind. So three connections that may lead Paimon to be Aria and the God of Time while having the connections said in the game. I just wanna share this in case someone hadn't shared it yet

I, too, believe that Aria, Sonnet, Canon are the original gods (or should I say, the real Celestia gods).
- One clue that gave everything away to me was when I searched the definition to the name "Canon" out of pure boredom; to my surprise, it mentioned "PRINCIPLE," and immediately, I thought of the HEAVENLY PRINCIPLE.
- Another give away was the Blessing of the Welking Moon; Heavenly Moon (There's also a ritual or tradition in Teyvat performed by people of which they ask for the blessing from the moon sister who died and illuminate the moon).
- Lastly, I'm not sure who is the last sister, but I had seen someone mentioned that Sonnet associates with "little song" and the only one that comes to mind is Paimon, since Paimon is tiny and has an unusual appearance of an ordinary human; like what you mentioned the Triquetra on their clothes, the levitation ability, the crown, AND ESPECIALLY the floating constellations. While I was doing an event (I forgot the name but I have screenshots of it), one of the floor was called the Dark Sea, and inside there were CONSTELLATIONS floating around the room with a gigantic illuminated blue moon as big as the one we saw when lumine was running during the catalysm. The fact that the room was called the Dark Sea and the constellations in it reminds me too much of Paimon. Needless to say, even everyone in Teyvat confirmed that Paimon isn't from this world.
- In my hypothesis, your theory on Paimon being a seelie is correct. Actually, I believe that Paimon is the first seelie ever to exist and the only remainder of the civilization, as well as the moon sis, Sonnet (combo of god and seelie). This Paimon seelie can't really die since they're a Celestia god. In the Triquetra symbol, there are 3 goddess and one of them, The Maiden, has a thing for human and she can deeply resonate with them more so than the other 2 goddesses (plus with Maiden's animal as the deer). With this, the down-to-earth goddess seems to also be capable of human emotions, including love. Thus, with the story of the 30-days calamity after one of the sis fell in !ove with an outlander, both of them eventually got punished and their memories got wiped out completely. (Not Canon, but the fact that Traveller and Paimon descended almost at the same time kinda sus. While at the same time, I can't imagine shipping traveller with Paimon tho.... Paimon looks like a child to me so I just feel conflicted 😭)
- Oh and idk if this relates to the story, but Venti had already met Traveller before. Just to put that out there. I think this detail is very important too, especially when I theorize that Aether and Lumine are the morning stars of whom the Moon Sisters loved so much.
There is SO MUCH I WANT TO SAY RIGHT NOW because you're definitely going down the same rabbit hole I am for my theory about the sisters. Part 2 will be a deeper dive into the Moon Sisters and Part 3 will be a deeper dive into the Seelie, so I want to reserve my comments about this for later. I love your theory :)

In a book it says something about something catastrophic happen and the sisters turned on eachother, but mentioning how their corpses are still illuminating the sky.
But only two moons exist whilst the third is nowhere to be seen (this is where we can speculate the third moon is paimon, and the only survivor).
About the 30 day catastrophe, I don't think paimon is in "love" with the traveler like we think. Because the travelers arent the only outlanders who exist. The celestial gods were the first outlanders (during the enkonomiya quest we are told that there was an age of humans before the archons and gods).
If there was an age of humanity, and at one point all three moons were alive then that must mean that teyvat was "real" back then. Something grave happened and the gods of Celestia took over and created something "fake" (this is speculation from the first scaramouche encounter). All the three moon sisters used to stay in Celestia, which paimon has attire directly connected to Celestia and even the leylines (but that's not the point). The gods of Celestia somehow seized control of Celestia from the moon sisters.
About the little song thing, I think it's supposed to mean that Aria is the maiden and when we log in to genshin during real life night the normal theme of teyvat changes to a song called "Dream Aria" But your take is still very interesting!!

The third actually died and went to illuminate the moon. If there really were 2 corpses remained but Paimon is yet still alive, my best guess is Canon and Sonnet is still alive (question mark??)
Nevertheless, I do agree with your perspective on the fact that there are countless outlanders who exist throughout Teyvat. This is true, and you're right -- and the fact that human civilizations existed before Celestia reign honestly gave me creeps. Who knows what happened to those people that knew the real secrets of Celestia before its tyranny reign? Even so, but about Traveller and Paimon shouldn't even happen in the first place, I really can't imagine them as lovers 😭

This is indeed a great theory video! Somethings that aren't mentioned here though is that we got more lore for the goddess of time in enkonmya and apparently she was one of Phaenis 4 parts(? ) , also the video mentions that paimon is loyal to aether presuming that he is lucifer but the truth is that this new Phaenis guy is a God often thought of being lucifer himself and it is constantly foreshadowed that paimon will at some point betray us. Another fun fact I realised is that kaeya seems to know what will happen before it happens. For example he told klee that there were monsters impersonating the knights of Fav and some time later we learned that there is a monster impersonating albedo. Or how he mentioned early on about objects falling from the heavens etc etc. Anyways my point is, when traveller arrived in mondstat in the art/panels mihoyo gave us, paimon was at some point trying to make the traveller leave while kaeya was the one who stopped them. And kaeya also doesn't seem to really like paimon nor does she. It makes me wonder if he knows something about her and is just keeping it a secret
Incredible production, editing and the theory really does hold up! I may not be the only person in the community to say Paimon is one of my favorite characters in the game. Some people say she’s annoying, but I find her incredibly endearing. Her voice may be too much at times and ruins the mood in a dramatic scene, but she’s very loyal, caring and (so far) genuine.
This was incredibly well made. I really enjoyed your analysis and a lot of it makes sense. There is so much lore in this game but I really appreciate the time you took to put the pieces together! I just hope Paimon doesn’t end up betraying us (even if she doesn’t know she is doing it) - I’d be so upset if that happened.

My theory on the 3 shown figures is that to me the one in the front of the other 2 figures shown looks a little like venti bc of the braids and the lyre looking thing in its hands, not to mention even the scarf thing venti has in his archon form. The one on the right could very well be the god of time since venti knew her and you already specified many similarities to her and things related to time, but I’m not sure about the one on the left.

I enjoyed watching all of it. Excellent cutting and addition of fun voice snippets in between. But really I'm impressed just how much you've dedicated to read through the Genshin world! How much time have you spent on this? Love how you add knowledge of actual human ancient ideas.
And this is why I've started playing Genshin. The lore is just so amazing and interesting and the storyline all connects perfectly! The mysteries are solvable but it always takes time! Paimon will still always be our little emergency foo- I mean flying elf companion!! 💕
Love how you did this video. So many ways to think about with everything you talked about, and so much like a seelie now that you've mentioned. I've been thinking in the case Paimon is an antagonist, maybe she doesn't remember what exactly she is but is a fragment of the unknown god or the other gods in theories and something will trigger her true form later on. That part where you point out the demon being able to stay underwater for indefinite periods brings questions, but if that's true to her in game and say if she really is naive, maybe she was 'asleep' underwater until she was fished out and only thought she could have drowned. It would be so heartbreaking though if she is manipulating and knew everything all along and betrays traveler in the end, but I think she truly protects the traveler without any darker reasons behind, even at least initially. I found her a little annoying the first time I played, but Paimon has really grown on me 🤍💔

The travelers themselves may also have a connection to paimon because in one of their idle movements, they make floating constellations in their hands that look just like the ones paimon makes when she moves

The moon theme continues in Inazuma as well, as when I fed "moon lightning" into google translate, taking it from English to Japanese, it gave back "月の稲妻" "Tsuki no *inazuma*," indicating the name of the Nation of Thunder was inspired by an overlap of moon phases and a thunder storm. I also am starting to think that Paimon is the "maiden" and the unknown goddess is the "crown" as her actions in the cutscene at the start of the game are those of an angered/enraged elder.
稲妻, ‘inazuma’ just means ‘lightning’ while 月, ‘tsuki’ is ‘moon’. If you translate the word 稲妻 to English, it’s going to give you the word for ‘lightning’, which doesn’t have any relation to the moon by itself. If you translate from English some words containing ‘moon’, it will obviously be translated into something that contains the word ‘moon’, even if the words don’t have any relation by themselves.
Wow, putting moon lightning on translate gives you the exact translation for moon and lightning, shocking
I’m telling you guys, paimon is the final boss of the game. I have an insane gut feeling that paimon Is CONCEALING her true power, that true power or… “final form” could be the one aether and lumine face at the beginning of the game. It seems like dainslef is going to be the final boss but I disagree. Perhaps in the final chapter paimon revels her true power and you, the other twin, and dain fight against her TOGETHER. But I guess only time will tell. I guess I’m not the only one who can’t wait for the Khanri’ah part of the game, I wonder if you get to go to the ruins and actually roam around them.

I feel like she's related to the Unknown God in some way though.. but there's absolutely no way she's her
now that'd just be a bad plot twist, to have someone who didn't show one bit of malice or motives to hurt and has this mutual layer of trust with the protagonist (they both seem to know that the other has a lot of secrets but chose not to dig further but instead having what seems to be genuine conversations [they've had a few conversations that could've revealed their secrets, if Paimon was pretending she'd be so much more careful] and are way too off guard) would be quite idk how to describe it but it wouldn't sit right, unless hoyo drops hints but since it's been debunked it's unlikely (please don't take this too seriously ik you said it's just a gutfeeling)
about the concealed power tho that does sounds like it's true imagine how poggers it would be when paimon suddenly shines rly brightly and turns into an adult version or smt, assuming Venti would be there when that happens he'd say something like ,,about time you show your true powers"

They did want to overthrow the nobility, but I don't think it's them because at this point in the manga, there's no way Venti would even know who they are since this was prior to the actual rebellion against the Aristocrats (keep in mind this is right after Venti awakened from a long sleep). Unless he had some sort of godly intuition about them? But there's nothing to suggest that. There were also 4 members of the Wanderer's Troupe--why only show 3?
Not to mention, "The city is at peace, just as the lord and his magnates want it to be. They will keep it this way" is an easy parallel to the gods of Celestia, the Archons and their duty to watch humanity, and humanity itself.

-The Conductor’s demise has no records, but the Conductor’s Top Hat’s description describes that he clutched the Widsith and never let it go until his death. (I would guess this would be the last figure in the comic.)
-The Noble had also been seemingly captured. Afterward, he set up a secret society to take down the Aristocracy from within. It later became an organization that protects Mond from the shadows. ( The one who didn't die from the events or from being punished from the event of the failed coup.)
Plus the music notes around them in the comic helps add to the idea that this is memory of the Wanderer's Troupe. With three members who died as a result and one who started a organization to do what they failed to do together.
@@BellDandy0 I am liking your and Nigrumkuro's ideas more and more, because it does fit rather nicely considering the music notes, the apple seller's dialogue, etc. But I still think there's a conflict here concerning Venti, and also something to note about the middle figure.
We know the Wanderer's Troupe were active during the last years of the Aristocracy. They staged their uprising around a Ludi Harpastum (the Sojourner (Harpist's) love interest was chosen as the Ludi Harpastum princess, which motivates him to rebel). We also know this uprising had to happen sometime before Vennessa's Rebellion.
Fast forward to Venti's awakening in the manga. He has no idea how long he's slept. When he speaks to the apple seller, he (seemingly) has no idea what's been happening in Mondstat. He was not aware of what the Aristocrats were doing in the city. He doesn't know about the slavery (he is surprised when he sees Vennessa's chains), he is surprised and excited to hear that it's the day of the Ludi Harpastum, and he has no idea about the changed rules of the Ludi Harpastum. The Aristocratic Period lasted for at least 1600 years and Venti seems to have no knowledge of any of it, so how would he know the Wanderer's Troupe? How could he think of people he seemingly would have no knowledge of?
There are explanations, of course--one being that he actually did in fact know what was going on, and that how he was acting in the manga was a ruse. He could have been active before we actually see him "wake up" (he has lied before about it, see Khaenri'ah). Idk. But this discrepancy is keeping me from being 100% sold on the Troupe idea.
Also, the Harpist's weapon was the Stringless, but it was also his musical instrument. While we can't see it very well, the middle figure's instrument doesn't really look like the Stringless. But he could easily be playing a different instrument?

I'm 100% sure you know all this information. I just really enjoy good brainstorm and trying to link all this lore together! With so much to go through, some information can be missed with the timeline not fully known. Please take anything I may post as me trying to wrap my head around it all and at times, thinking out loud. It is not about being right or wrong but throwing a few more pieces of the puzzle at you and seeing if you can look more into it!
While the Wanderer's Troupe story happened sometime Pre-Cataclysm -1000 years, it builds up the events we can see in the first part of the Genshin manga (Still Pre-Cataclysm 1000-500 years). The four weapons and Wanderer's set then give us some context to the events that led up to Venessa’s rebellion and the freedom of Mondstadt from the oppression in the manga. The Sword-dancer also called the Dawnlight has the vaguest origins on the set. When enslaved as a gladiator, her matches inspired a young Ragnvindr ancestor, eventually taking up a title similar to hers, ‘the Dawn Knight’. Furthermore, helps provide the origin of an important secret society related to the Wolf Pup Rostam who was the friend of Grand Master Arundolyn.
Kreuzleid, who abandoned the Lawrence Clan, was the fourth to join the Troupe. He wielded The Bell and is the only known survivor of the Wonderer's Troupe, spared because of his lineage. Kreuzleid did not give up resisting the aristocracy; he established an underground organization, which would remain active even 500 years later, and used it to aid Vennessa's rebellion.

Side note, these figures may just be The Namesless bard, Amos and Red-Haired Warrior. When Venti was still just an 'elf'. Gunnhildr was there as well but it was the bard and Amos who died and the red-haired warrior turned his back on Barbatos when he took the role of the God and took the form of the dead Nameless Bard.
All this would be easier if we knew how long Barbatos was sleeping, why he was sleeping, and if he could still hear songs and tales in this slumber.

When you zoom in and turn up the brightness on the middle figure in the webtoon panel, you can actually see it does look like Venti! They have at least one braid, and it looks like they have a hat like his as well! They also seem to have a lyre ^^
So, possibly more evidence he knows Paimon?

i've been compiling info for this series for months, and wrote the first draft of this script months ago lol xD After some revisions thanks to new information dropped in the game/things I didn't notice before, and then figuring out how I wanted to do the video, i released this vid!

Paimon is actually part of aether/lumine. If you choose Aether, he'll represent light and lumine represents dark. This hasn't been discuss many places but out there, there's another possibility of another paimon that's following the darker side of Lumine. It might not have been called paimon and i believe it will be revealed after more stories of dansleif is introduced or perhaps after we've reached Snezhnaya. Paimon could probably be a sword or a past knowledge that was separated from aether when he was sealed away. This could also shows that Aether was actually very powerful . During his years of being sealed away, he lost part of his knowledge and powers that created Paimon. Many of the archon statue and dungeon structures represents the light world that aether is now adventuring on. Which also mean that there's another darker side world that lumine now walks on has it's own versions of 7 dark archon as well. Smells like lots of money for mihoyo to continue milk on genshin for. Because if u counted 5 years to release light world of 7 elements and it's region, another 5 years will fit into the other 7 element of the dark world. That'll be whopping 10 years.
Although the recent double banner fever seems to have gotten into mihoyo. With the current speed of double banner rush, the game is very unlikely to last past 5 years. It speeds up the death of the game. I'm sure the developers and marketing are probably having a really hard time figure out the coming banners. First is by April, they would have probably run out of rerun characters to run double banners. And if they continue to feature more double banners, it means next year, they need to have a triple or quadra banner. The figure will increase twice each year.
After 2 years, we'll see 8-9 5stars one event . 3 years, that'll be over 16. It'll be driving away new players. F2P or welkin moon spenders would find themselves totally left out.
With abyss continuously getting tough. Shield getting nerfs. Healing will also getting nerfs. More contents nerfs slapping in just to fit the newer 5 star models. It becomes increasing difficult for the developer teams to adjust the game.

@@aureliaavalon of cos there's no basis for that. We're looking at a game and not even a reality/actual incident in life. Everything is 100% fictional. What i said was just speculation and my own assumption. Same as some of the dozens of content creators on youtube trying to spin some tales relating it to some greek / norse mythology .
And why i said that paimon was part of traveler ? Traveler been wandering many years without any powers unlike when he first fought the unknown god , we first saw.
Traveler could fly and cast most of these powers with ease. After being sealed away for many years, he lost all of this powers. Only after he met paimon, he started activating partial of the powers starting with anemo -> geo then recently electro by resonating with those archon statue. This indirectly hint that traveler slowly regains his power along the way. And he could be much more powerful then all of the 7 archons combined when he regain of those powers. And don't forget, it's paimon that brought traveler to resonate with the first anemo archon statue that gave him the anemo power. You got to play that during your level 1. And out of the dozens speculation, many seems to lead to the idea that there's a light element. Where there's light, there's also dark. Paimon represent light. And Travelers power could resonate with all 7 archon statues seems to indicate that he's actually originally a light element . But he doesnt has that power yet. The rest is up to your imagination.

I’d like to mention that in the new side quest for inazuma we learn that there was a time before gods even existed called the time “Before sun and moon”. Before sun and MOON.
