How to Make a SIMPLE Bowstring?

Making a simple flemish style bowstring. No jig needed in this method. I'm usually using dyed flax twine. I like to mix two different colors for fancy outcome. Those bowstrings are really reliable. Nevertheless to get more FPS out of your bow you must consider using Dacron thread.

I found your videos recently and I’ve really enjoyed the process. I grew up in WV and when growing up went to a festival in a neighboring town and watched a guy take a piece of steamed wood and bent it into a bow, very similar to one of your other videos. I’m tempted to attempt making a bow with my son as a project. I’m sure we’ll fail miserably, but it’ll be a bonding experience and we have plenty of material and tools to play around with. Awesome, do you have any advice to making high draw weight bows (25 kg+)? Apart from taking off less wood when tillering.

Go for wider limbs and a bit longer than usual. Take your time to select higher quality wood
