  • Follow my journey of assembly of a Malossi RC-One 94cc! This is the second part, there is a bonus footage of an upcoming video at the end!
    Some basic 2 Stroke Tools:
    Flywheel Puller - s.click.aliexpr...
    Adjustable Variator/Clutch Holder tool - s.click.aliexpr...
    Case splitting tool - s.click.aliexpr...
    Crank puller - s.click.aliexpr...
    Clutch Spring puller tool - s.click.aliexpr...
    Heat Gun - s.click.aliexpr...
    Before you start your build be advised you need some bits that are NOT included in the kit.
    - Transmission cover bolts
    - On the Piaggio kit no rear axle shaft is included, you must reuse your old one
    - The small spring clip that goes on the end of the input shaft for clutch bell
    - The washer/shims that go on the primary/secondary shaft that go between the gears and the case halves
    - Piaggio Kicker boss for kick start mechanism www.scootertun...
    - Spacer kit for overrange www.scootertun...
    In this we add in the transmission, and button up the RC-One. There are torque specs hidden without and some of these build tips would apply to any scooter engine build.

    I'm not going to do a twin cylinder setup for the street I've decided. You can get 100mph + out of a well setup 90 - 100cc setup anyway, and thats more than enough for me

    Did you ever get this to run proper with those la furia rossa? Cause on a guy i knows gilera runner which is exactly the same setup we couldnt push it over 25hp and the curve from the dyno was Very bad, with the old overrange kit we hit the 30 marks.

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 2 lety

      Its in its entirely base settings. On the 3 motors I have had in my hands they all ran ok with base settings enough to run and drive decently.

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 5 lety +1

      Don't recall seeing one in the kit. I also have an aversion to those as on some setups they will cause the spring to coil bind and you wont get full pulley travel.

    Would like to know if I need the thrust washers for the secondary gear?

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 2 lety +1

      I would, in the long run it would keep the gear from wearing down the cases prematurely since the washer isn't driven and can spin independent of the gear. Sure you could run it without but I would say it's not ideal.

    I have a block just like yours got it off someone local here in Hawaii I was thinking about 2fast 100cc but if that crank and cylinder just plug a play thinking on just going that way sense I don’t have to mill out anything I’m going to try to bolt it up to my 2001 Honda elite SR50 frame so that’s a 50mm 70-94cc boar kit and 50mm crank am I correct?

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 4 lety +1

      If it's a RC-One Block it is a 44mm Stroke and a 52mm bore
      If it is a C-One then it's only machined for the 70 stuff.. you can however bore it up and run anything.
      Any of the other kits other than the Malossi stuff may require machining.

  • @islandhomegrown778
    @islandhomegrown778 Před 4 lety

    If I go and get me a kit is it a Bolt on kit or would I have to mill it out to fit?

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 4 lety +1

      The RC-One? if you use all the supplied stuff it is a bolt together afair. No milling required. If you want to do some of the 2fastFL100 or others you have to do some case modification to make that stuff fit.
      Not sure what you want to bolt it to, so can't tell you there

    Hey there! I'm about to take on a 94cc upgrade on my BWS. Do you have a spec sheet on the size of carb, jet, rollers weights, clutch springs etc? If you have a complete build list it would help me alot as I'm not too experienced with building one of these bad boys.
    Thanks!

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 5 lety

      This motor is an entire kit, it has a 28mm carb, pre jetted to "run", 3.5g rollers and springs are the la fury rossa springs, good luck!

      @@pitobread 3.5g rollers?? whats top speed with that setup?

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 5 lety

      Yes, 3.5g rollers. No idea on top speed, it would depend on wheel size and gearing. but it spins to 14k and makes 25 HP so it's probably easily in the 80MPH range.

      @@pitobread im currently putting together the Rc one engine and am running into a few issues. Apparently the new malossi crank design is splineless up until the end of the shaft. Included in the box it came with a splineless smooth finish variator ramp plate. Do you know anything about this?

    You must have better luck with scooter tuning. ca then I do. They never answer there phones or return calls. I gave up on them and use scooterparts. com, they have been good to deal with. What clutch weights did you use, the lighter or heavier.
    I am souping up my Derbi GP1 and I am not sure which clutch spring I would rather use. The stock Derbi spring or the purple that came with my clutch kit. the stock one seems heavier. It has more coils and is also longer so I have to check to see if it will coil bind with both the Derbi Torsion controller and the Malossi one used together.

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 4 lety

      Nope, they are great. Always go above and beyond.
      I used the springs that were in the clutch when it arrived on the RC, not sure what color that may be. Or are you talking contra spring?

    • @R1Kyle
      @R1Kyle Před 4 lety

      I asked which roller weights you went with 3.5g red and black or 3.8 all black weights for the primary clutch.
      Spring I was referring to was the Contra spring. I got a purple in my kit
