Today I played battlefield 4 for the first time again in years. I was blown away by the graphics compared to 2042. Where did it go wrong?
I ask that myself every day.
i ask myself the same thing after playing wz2 with barebones performance,shitty graphics and shitty gameplay...we had a gem in wz 1 but they ditched the formula like it was a plague...
Was going to come and comment this. Why does 2042 look so ugly? What have they done. Bad Company 2 looks better than 2042.

one of the best shooters ever made, when you grew up on stuff like this it makes you stop playing the current games, very sad hopefully one day we can go back to games like this.

I played like 2,000 hours of this game back in the day. I was never very good at most classes, but I started to get pretty damn accurate with sniping at the end.
There's not many moments in other video games as exhilarating as getting into a 1v1 with another sniper from across the map in BF4
(I also unabashedly loved Hardline as well)
Oh man. Duking it out 100's of meters away on different mountains on Rogue Transmission is amazing.

1v1 sniping wars were the absolute best in this game. Getting them long distant head shots have you feeling like a bad ass
This game is.......man I'm just in love with it . Been playin it for years and years and even though i haven't reached a high rank because of life and all that besides it's now full of veterans . I can't get enough of it because this game deserves to be always remembered and i wish it gets all that attention back.

Levolution and Frostbite are the reason why BF3 and B4 are the best games of the Franchise. SQUAD tends to feel like a war sometimes and same for ArmA3 but the Envirorment, Sound and Action of BF is something unachievable.
That is a solid reason.
I wish PlanetSide 2 had this much recognition. I feel like it is deeply underappreciated within the genre of mass multiplayer combat. The game has literal 64 km map sizes with persistent fighting. Basically does the same as this game only with mech suits, different stylized factions, and a respawn system that actually requires tactical planning to set up. But it falls short on the graphics and urban warfare feel in comparison to the famed BF franchise and similar titles. I'd go back and play it again if it didn't feel so dated now. The closest we got to a PlanetSide 3 look and feel was Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017), and it still didn't come close. But it no longer has support from devs because they are focusing on BF2042.
I am so over the CoD-like modern war genre, or even historically accurate war themes like in BF1 and BFV. They were cool, but I'd like to see more sci-fi stuff like Halo, Dust 514, Titanfall and Borderlands again.
I hope one day we can get some space themed PvP that has immense support from the developers and community.
Planetside is a good, enjoyable game, but its not a turn your mind off and play game like Battlefield and CoD can be.
The last great modern battlefield by far. It was just such a wonderful sandbox to run around in.

I don't know any discords for PS4, but I do know you can server browser. There is a hard-core server thats usually full. I can't remember the name, but all of those guys were really awesome.
Been playing it for nearly 3 years, with 1k hours clocked in, and there's simply no other PvP shooter like it
The gunplay alone is amazing, the sound and visuals holds up till today, and the weapon variety is plentiful, even if some of them are copies of another
Also now that you mention it, the levolution is a huge part of what makes the game fun for me, but I'm not talking about huge spectacles like a falling skyscraper or a dam flooding a map, but rather small things like being able to destroy certain walls and other soft covers
Playing any class with an explosive launcher allows you to do things not many other games can do, like blowing up walls to remove cover from your opponents, create new flanking routes or creating an emergency escape by blowing up a wall right next to you instead of having to use a door
Small destruction in BF4 truly makes the game more dynamic and its a shame that 2042 ditches this aspect
The immersion is by far better than any other game.
The sound is what really sells it in my opinion. The roar of a jet engine as it flies over is just *chefs kiss

I wish FPS gamers had a longer attention span. Seems like games are almost abandoned after like 3 years. I tried to get back into Battlefield 1 recently and couldn't even get into a lobby with players.
I wish human attention spans were longer in general dude. It is sad to see games abandoned, and many other things too.

@@iYamAbram Last time I tried was on steam but I ended up refunding it because there were no servers. There's probably a mod to use unofficial servers but I didn't look much into it.

This is still my favorite game it aged like some fine wine. From the beginning of the game where it was a buggy mess compared to now it is a complete masterpiece, 20 times better than 2042 and it’s a decade old. I was excited for 2042 bc I thought it would be a better looking bf4 but nope haha. Anyways had to rant love the vid i completely agree.

Its simple, the game is thriving today because its cheap/looks extremely good, I would even say better then the latest cod title/ and fun without the bullshit! I always said and always will keep saying bf4 was the best bf game and is even better looking and plays better then any modern fps titles.

What's the best Battlefield in your opinion?
I realy do think BF4 was the peak of battlefield. I wonder if they'd remake BF4 exaclty like it was but with modern engine, it would be HUGE game. Nowdays when they make "remake" or "remaster" its nothing like the original game at all.
I often hope that they will remake it correctly.

Just yesterday i uninstalled bf2042 because i was so tired of it, so i thought hey lets check if anyone is playing bf4, i was so happy to find out all my favourite hardcore rush servers where 64/64 i joined and OMG i had such a good time, i played 4 hours straight meanwhile after 1-2 rounds of 2042 i wanted to throw my pc out of the window and i was just closing the game, conclusion bf4 is a gem and 10 years later it feels to me better than any other shooter out there till today

If anything the new MW3 proves to EA that all gamers everywhere would have preferred a remaster of BF4 on BF5's engine graphics with more maps and more guns. BF4 could still be like the best base game to make another game.
Literally I would much prefer they experiment using BF4 for a new game.

I keep coming back to 2042 and i have to admit they have made great changes and updates. But am I wrong... the game feels more cartoony than previous battlefield games.
Thats why I would have preffered just a remaster to BF4 with all the maps from all the battlefields. Imagine that collosal awesomeness.

After learning how to get good at bf4 I quit COD. I went from ps3 to ps4 then pc and bf4 kept getting better for me. Like from 16vs16 to 32vs32 and 64vs64 on a 2080 ryzen 5 no lag and fast modem. I been playing since release and this is one of my fave shooters of all time. Everything about vehicles n all!

I honestly use a crappy modem from my wifi provider and it works out great.
If you can. Get an ethernet cable from your modem/router straight to your PC/console.

@@iYamAbram i actually just bought it yesterday. any tips on finding good servers, finding allot that say something like "61/64 players" and when i join, its only like 10 people total.
Also any tips on how to know where you're shot from? often times find myself killed by a camper in a corner.

You'll just have to do trial and error on that one. Servers will often say 62/64 but have 10 people. Its to be at the top of the list.
When knowing where you're getting shot from, there should be a slight indicator. There is also a after death camera so you'll get used to the obvious camping places
no hud. stamina. weapon sway. screen punch. etc. etc. ....BATTLEFIED HARDCORE (realistic) will happen one day! ...I hope

No Cringe character quotes thats from a cringe ass movie. No women. xDD all jokes aside, The mysteriousness, grim and dark demeanor of the character designs are truly remarkable and sets a very good point for immersion. In warzone or bf2042 you have these characters always spewing some bs like they were reading a script from a cringe action movie.
The beauty of BF4 lies in the fact the player us just another soldier on the Battlefield.
No one is a pre-made hero. We are all just bodies doing what we can.

According to another viewer, its about 900 concurrent. This doesn't account for the EA launcher though I believe.
For PC I can always find a full server for TDM, Conquest, and Rush!

It's simple...Every battlefield game past 4 was made with greed in mind and every game before that was made with passion. Most franchises are like this. The moment the videogame industry boomed it traded creativity for maximizing profit.

On PC there are servers that rotate through just about every map. Including DLC maps.
I think its the Banzore servers?

one simple thing the game is just good it was a time where of course they had to make money but they weren't trying to take every penny you had for content but of course the game has it's problems but the quality's of the game just makes them disapear .

I will say I enjoy BF4, but I see the flaws in it tremendously. Mainly the ttk, vehicles being abused, broken hitbkoxes, net code, WAY too hard to see people in the landscape since they blend in, being shot from seemingly nowhere. It can be frustrating sometimes

I have 1500 hours on BF1. I bought EA play for BF 2042 but never touched BF4. It's clear that I've made a mistake this game is far too good compared to BF2042. Lack of environmental destruction in BF 2042 is limiting the game far too much. It was a good counterplay for campers. Are there still enough players on PC?. BF1 is very much alive in 2023 but I can't be sure for BF4.

It’s really not that great. It’s slow and sluggish and heavy, graphics are grainy. 2042 is a lot faster, way better movement and physics. Graphics are beautiful in 4K with hdr. If anything battlefield 3 is the goat. 2042 is leaps and bounds better than bf4.

@@iYamAbram faster as in your character doesn’t just sprint, but can also strife which makes a big difference in immersion and movement. 2042 gets cut short of credit every time it take a step forward. It’s this trash ass gaming community that are destroying these games. When bf4 came out it was a complete mess but now it’s held as the best bf title ever made.

2042 should be ridiculed, so the game can be fixed. If everyone was happy with a bad game, we would all have bad games from here on out. Just bc you enjoy it doesn't mean everyone else should, and just bc others don't enjoy mean doesn't it everyone else should not enjoy it as well.
However, when a game is bad the community should react accordingly. I look forward to when 2042 has most of its problems fixes and could potentially be enjoyable for me. For now it's not, and many people agree with that.
Now, Call of duty is a copypaste of Battlefield 4 (and battlefield 3 too) but with rainbow clownery skins /operators.

@@iYamAbram I would say on a whole. The only thing better about is the more equipment/tools and items in the game. And the levolution.
I think everything besides that is just plain less than 3. The aesthetics. The lighting. The visuals. The UI! Everything.
If they just took all the new stuff, minus the battle pack stupid system and threw it in basically 3. It would be the perfect game.
Because the only reason 3 isn’t as popular as 4. And I can understand. Is because it is so simple. It lacks the equipment depth and such 4 has that makes you feel like there is so much to the game. 3 is simple by comparison in that regard.
And I personally think the suppression from 3 is such an important aspect that it really hurt the game when that was taken away in 4. Made the game way more dumbed down to play and lot less strategy and cool moments
because dice is garbage and the new battlefields killed the franchise for good.

I don't think any of these modern battlefield games are thriving, they appear to be total shitpieces. BF4 is not a classic Battlefield and being released after 2009 makes it a 6/10 maximum score.
