What warms my heart is that Danny Devito and his wife, who played Matilda's mean parents on set, were taking care and looking after Mara Wilson while her mom was sick and eventually died from cancer. Goes to show that the meanest Villians are usually played by the nicest and most caring people you'll ever meetđâ€ïž
I agree
Danny Devito is the best actor I have ever met
I love the way he acts
Danny's wife is from Cheers. Did you know that or no?
Instablaster
I also heard whenever Danny Devito and his wife were rude to Matilda, After scene cuts they would make sure she was okay.
Danny was sweet about matilda to help her with anxiety.
Esspecally (i cant spell) since he played such a depicable character. (also in home alone but we wont get into that.)
Yeah
Her irl name is mara wilson :)
I agree very nice irl people always have to play as mean characters:(
Yeah
That girl who acted as Matilda...is tough. She acted even though her mother was close to dieing. Hats down to this young lady
No her mum did die
@@presley10able
D-TV said that Mara Wilson's mother was close to dying. He didn't say her mother didn't die.
@@benjaminburnette7300 they did say she died 6 months after the film was made
@@sussysusie5667 Yeah I know. That's it said in the video.
Fun fact my mother went to High school with her brother and she and my mom played cards once she my mom said she was really funny and super nice!
I just wanna say... Miss Honey was the most adorable character that Iâve ever seen.
AGREED
I believe she is called
B U M B L E B E E
*ALL HAIL THE BUMBLEBEE*
Believers yt i like the scene where Matilda levateted the water bowl
Yeah shes so humble
Those transformations were really weird with Truchbull. I had no clue that it was the same person who played Aunt Marge. That's actually hilarious. đ
Ya me neither. That was a fun one for me to learn too
Sophie ikr
@Red Boah Sutherland Now that I know who she is, I can be able to see it in her when I rewatch these movies. Thanks for sharing.
Hold up what?
Ikr!
I just love how Danny and his wife were towards Mara considering what she was going through at the time and it was amazing her mum got to see the movie before she passed away
This is by far my favorite movie

Hagađ lol
"He didn't really eat that cake!" Well that's kind of obvious - it's not like they forced a child actor to eat a massive cake over and over again. đ€Šââïž
But I still enjoyed this video regardless!
I'm having a little sister in a month, she's gonna be called Matilda Grace x
Aw, Congrats on the incoming new sister Matilda!
Aww đ
Aww I hope sheâll be a healthy one!
OH congratulations on that
Who cares
Miss honey was also from Annie!
đ€Șđ

Say what???? You mean like the 2016 one?
amanda palmer the original one
Rach H yup
Fact #12 extra note: Paul Rubens character's partner was also one of the Joker's henchman too from the 1989 Batman movie.
Where?!?
I saw this movie this past Friday with my parents and my niece. My niece had already seen the movie and knew it well but although I've heard of the movie and knowing it was based off a book, I had actually never seen it before my niece suggested we watch it and I'm glad she did! I laughed, felt worried for Matilda and rooted for her and I loved her bond with her teacher and how she ended up getting adopted by her in the end. I'm glad her parents let her get adopted, it was the best thing they ever did for her.
I really loved Matilda when I was little, and I always used wonder how Ms Trunchball want fired or even sent to jail for throwing a boy out the window, only for eating m&m's while she was talking.
P.s I would love it if you do another one of Henry Selick's movies
@K̶e̶n̶a̶z̶ LOL
To be honest I thought that Matildaâs biological mom was miss honey
Me too lol but my mom said her biological parents are the wormwoods lol i was thinking what your thinking
Anyone else found it funny when Bruce said my mums is better on the film
Say that to this day from childhood
Noob girl roblox
I remembered watching this when I was 6 and a half, I loved it and played it several times at my Grandmothers which caused the tape to be worn down, the reason why I watched the film is because it had similar names to the TV show âMadelineâ based on the 1930s book of the same name.
I love this movie. Imagine putting some effort in special effects without alot of CGI. This movie was definitely a passion project
I just performed in Matilda the musical! It was an amazing experience. And we used a lot of tricks like these to make our show come alive
Irina Andrews10 who were you?
Yeah who were you playing
@@anemirothxx7480 I played the role of Eric (the boy who gets lifted up by his ears) it was very fun
@@irinaandrews6877 oohh you mean in the roald dahl book?
@@irinaandrews6877 Iâve heard of him
Danny Devito is the best person on earth. DANNY DEVITO RULES!!
Yes, as a kid, I use to see him and think of him and the mean and shady dad of Matilda.
Now I realize he was a kind man who did a lot for Mara Wilson. He took care of her and treated her like his own kid when her mother had cancer.
My high school had a Danny Devito club
He endorsed Bernie Sanders, of course DD is the best person on earth!
*i still love this movie đ„ș*
Yes!! Iâve been waiting for another episode on your channel! Thanks for the upload!
Danny Devito! He's the one that we need oh!
Another little known fact about the movie is that Pam Ferris actually stayed in character as Miss Trunchbull even when the filming wasn't happening, to make the fear of the other characters more realistic.
When this film came out I was 25 year old man. I am 48 and still watch this film when it comes on tv. I also like watching films with Danny Devito.
Best one yet!!
Danny Davito and the woman who played Matildas mom let Mara live with them while her mom was in the hospital
You mean Danny Devito's actual, real life wife, Rhea Perlman, they actually told you that in the video.
This movie never bores me ..... Always excited to watch it over and over again .... It's so brillantly made
Julius survived. He was really thrown onto a mattress
My favorite scene in Matilda is when Matilda snuck in Trunchbullâs house the first time and sheâs trying to escape quietly!
*i see someone recently watched the matilda dvd*
I watched this once every WEEK when I was younger. I loved it sooo much!!
Danny is actually super niceđ„ș

Another fact. Matilda was the inspiration for one of my imaginary friends as a kid. Rebecca: she was perpetually 3 years old and really intelligent (tho a bit snobbish). Call her Becky and she'd go ballistic đ
Cool
