Agus dha chead slan ag an Eargal ard in a stua os cionn caor is coll
Nuair a ghluais mise thartle Loch Dhun Luich go ciuin sa ghleann ina lui
I mo dhiaidh bhi gleanntain ghlas Ghaoth Dobhair, is beag nar bhris mo chroi
Ag taisteal dom amach tri chnoic Ghleann Domhain's an Mhucais ar mo chul
Ni miste dom 'ra le bron 's le cra gur frasach a shil mise suil

Ata beo go buan gan bhuairt gan ghruaim fa ghleanntain ghlas'Ghaoth Dobhair

Witnessed the genesis of this line-up of this brilliant band while a frequenter of the 95 club in Harcourt St.,Dublin in the late 60s. Great musicians like Brady and Moloney played for free and the Johnstone girls would come in after playing their pro gigs and do likewise. Great days, great harmonies, great singers,R.I.P. Adrienne.

Yes...I think Brady and Moloney were unpaid in those days ..the pair also played in 86 St Stephens Green at UCD ballad sessions...great nights.

What Album is this from? I would love a copy if it can be found still.

As far as I can make out on Discogs, it has only been released on 7" single in 1969. I am desperate for a copy of this song, in the Irish version, despite being English. I fell in love with it when listening to a Gaelic folk music show on the radio when I visited Ireland thirty odd years ago. I wish they would add it as a bonus track on a CD release!
