- Black Screen Fix for USB Loader GX, Wiiflow and CFG Loader!
The settings i use for d2x cios installer that work 100% on all 3 loaders.
1./ Select cIOS: d2x-v11-beta1
Select cIOS base: 38
Select cIOS slot: 248
Select cIOS version: 65535
2./ Select cIOS: d2x-v11-beta1
Select cIOS base: 56
Select cIOS slot: 249
Select cIOS version: 65535
3./ Select cIOS: d2x-v11-beta1
Select cIOS base: 57
Select cIOS slot: 250
Select cIOS version: 65535
4./Select cIOS: d2x-v11-beta1
Select cIOS base: 58
Select cIOS slot: 251
Select cIOS version: 65535
Make sure Sd card / USB Stick is in Fat32 / Create a Wbfs Folder for the wii games in the proper format! = Title I.D. of the game then .wbfs format!

Fixed mine thanks a lot ! It was on wiibrew changes IOS to 250 and bam! Was having problems loading Wii games now they load ! 5/5!!

I changed Video Mode to Force NTSC and selected 250 for the loader settings and suddenly the remote wouldn't select anything anymore! :( Have you come across this? Any idea how to reverse it? Ty!
Had an issue where my games on WiiFlow would show up and then when i tried to run them would send me back to the wii menu and this also fixed that (the NTCS and 250 settings that is) and didnt effect games that were already working, thank you
iOS 249 got SMB 25th Anniversary working on my Wii, but once you hit home to leave the game it goes back to a black screen. They REALLY didn't want us playing this outside of Japan, did they?
I have a different issue. Anytime I exit a game when using USB loader gx. I get a black screen. Even if I power off the wii u physically, I get a black screen, and the light is still on. Please help me.

This helped me in 2024. Changing the iOS to force 250 loaded my game right up. If it dosent work the first time try again I had to do that
Hey. I’m using Wii Flow on a PAL Wii but when I play NTSC games in RGB on my CRT the screen goes red. Any ideas? (Screen is fine when in composite)

@@Waterypeanutbutter if you use wiiflow, go to the settings before you start the game and turn off ,,nand emulation,,
try downloading a different region and follow the first two steps

Use Wii backup manager, if you convert your “back up file” of the game with this, it will work 👍🏼
I have a bizarre solution (If nothing else works)
My Wii is pal/European BUT! It must have been setup as American on the modding process! Try using NTCS games with there correct NTCS id's. After 12 straight hours this actually worked!! 🥳🎊
I don't have v11 in my cios any help?
It's frustrating. My USBLoader GX have no 'Framebuffer' nor the 'Deflicker' options.
Hey im on vwii/wii u and im trying to open my wiiflow and it just turns black when i load it up i did ios settings i deleted it all and reinstalled and my usb loader loads up but my wii flow doesnt
And when im on my usb loader i put mario kart wii on my sd with the id and my right region and it still doesnt work any tipss

I keep trying to load a disc dumped Mario bros Wii on both wiiflow and usbloader and both crash with “DSI EXCEPTION OCCURRED”, do you know what would fix that? I am using a 64GB usb drive
Might be the type of drive your using. I only use 2.0 ones and never had an issue... also make sure it's in fat32 and no more then 2tb storage. Theres also a sd mod you can use your games for your gamecube and wii games. You can also try. Loads everything from sd.

@@sc8652 you might need to re install the custom iOS or d2x cios installer app. And make sure the 1tb drive is properly formatted to fat 32. And also games in wbfs proper format in separate folder with title I.d.. If all this is correct you should have no issues.
I tried doing it for wii flow and USB loader gx but it still keeps giving me a black screen when loading games what's wrong with my wii???
Make sure you installed the cios's properly with D2X cios installer.
How funny, the problem wasn't getting in, its more getting out. I had a black screen when i tried to go back to the wii menu/homebrew channel/USB Loader GX, and within a few minutes, black screen

Does not allow me to change the 250 from auto? Loads the game but then automatically reloads to home screen ?
Maybe you have installed the wrong cios installer?

Nsmb wii instead of showing a black screen just boots up to the homebrew menu. Any fix?
Most likely the USB device your using, if you installed the cios properly you should have no issues! I have a video on how to install cios offline method if you need it. And make sure you downloaded the USA Version of NSMB if your in North America and your wii is NTFS.

I dusted my old Wii off recently and my kids are enjoying it.
Just be aware that you'll have varying degrees of success with different hard drives. I have an old 240GB drive that launches, plays and exits games flawlessly. I cloned it to a 640GB drive (and increased the partition size) so I can store more games. When playing games from the 640GB drive, games play but will hang (black screen) at random times, usually after completing a level or pressing start at a title screen, presumably when the game is reading from disk/loading the next scene/level/menu/song.
I've tried swapping the hard disks into different caddy's and the result is always the same, 240GB toshiba HDD just works, 640GB WD Blue hangs during games.
Both HDD's test healthy in CrystalDiskInfo. I'm going to try a spare 750GB drive today and see how it goes.
I use a 2TB Formatted in NTFS and works amazing. I think its a seagate. You can have drives in fat32 or wbfs format, but i find just using NTFS works the best. :)

I think I had a powered HDD back in the day which worked fine. I suspect the Wii USB port can't provide sufficient power to my larger HDD's so I've ordered a usb Y adapter from Amazon. I needed a Y adapter to power my WiiU HDD and I never thought it may be the issue my Wii is having.
My portable HDD's are old internal drives stripped from computers and may have higher power requirements than a typical external drive.

sort of works for me on new super mario bros wii, but one time there was an insanely long wait for the game to load. most of the time there is a black screen. i have the cios installed correctly, as well as the wii games in the wbfs folder, the games being in seperate folders with the game name and id in brackets, and the game id in the filename. the loader's ios is 249 and the game's cios is on 250. the drive is formatted to fat32, and it is a sandisk 128gb cruzer blade. i am getting a toshiba 500gb hard drive soon.
Ok cool... Also i recommend downloading NTFS games as well if your in north america! Helps out too. Sometimes you gotta mess with other settings if its PAL version, if your wii is NTFS.
My situation is very similar but when I ran it, I would get a long blackscreen. How long did it take for it to load for you?

is it required to install IOS250 and another IOS, im loading from SD Card, i have Just Dance Wii 2 (Japan) and it makes me back to the Homebrew Menu when starting... (note: im on a PAL Device)
I would recommend installing the newest d2x cios build and usb loader gx sd mod with all the proper cios's! Then go from there... I only deal with NTFS usually! But try that and see what happens. :)
@@pedrosretrogamefinds well, i installed d2x cios: IOS249, and i also have IOS236 from IOS236 Installer V6, i don't know what IOS to Install (by the way, i also have IOS58)
I downloaded games and they show up in usb loader , but every single game when i open it, shows the black screen and i have to restart the console. None of the games open or work. I already tried forcing ntsc and changing the ios to 250. that didnt change the issue. Im not quite sure what the problem is and it's driving me crazy, if anyone could offer any suggestions or input it would be greatly appreciated! :)
Make sure you install the proper ios's and that the file structure is correct when naming the folders of the games and it should work. And make sure the drive is less then 2TB in size and plugged into the bottom port USB.
all of my Wii games work except for three of them would you know why?( I get a black screen and then boots right back to the homebrew app
If you tried everything i show, then try deleting the games and re downloading from a different source or region! And make sure the title i.d's match with the right game!
@@pedrosretrogamefinds i'm pretty sure they do not a 100% sure but the games in question are wii Sports [RSPE01] the Simpsons game [RSNE69] and the last one is actually a game that I ripped from my own disc to my consoles usb Sonic [RSRE8P]

I purchased a modded wii, and when I try to enter the cfg that has the wii games, the screen goes back. From your video, I tried loading it, but I keep getting an error that says not a valid wii application. Can you please help me.

Most games work but other games like Just Dance 2015, 2017, and Unlimited Party don't
I forced PAL 60 instead of NTSC and Just Dance 2015 worked. I think you have to play around with the settings until you find something that works.

Dragon Ball Tenkaichi 3 Wii on sd loads up till the main screen then goes black but on my 4gb it works fine
Maybe you changed it to load from HD or SD! Its gotta have the proper path to the game. Or sometimes it could be the USB device itself it dosen't like. Go with what works for you. :)
I also recommend to you download the updated USB Loader GX and the D2 Cios Installer with the new settings. Might help with some of the bugs. If it dosen't then its your devices its not liking! SD & USB / HD.
@@pedrosretrogamefinds see it does detect it and it plays it on my 4g card but not my 128gb which i want cause that's where I want all my roms to be (they have the same version of usb loader gx and workflow) also my 128gb sd card works like the Wii and GameCube roms but sum reason it doesn't
@@gnarlyhub Did you format it properly? Anything bigger then 32GB you gotta use a 3rd party program to format it!? I use Wii Back up manager, theres an option to format drives.
@@pedrosretrogamefinds when i right click it to properties it says fat32 and when i try adding games over 4gb it says an error so that's why I split the wbfs. Do i have to format it still ? Just got the SD card and used it just like that out the package where i ordered it. Also what is D2 Ciso installer like do i have to instal it my Wii runs wbfs and GameCube fine it's just sum reason dragon Ball Tenkaichi 3 and brawl isn't working and maybe others might not work so I'm trying to figure out whats at's the problem :(
It works Not By me ,mm Screen Flash all the time.
If you install usb loader gx & d2x cios installer with proper ios installed... (shown in the description). You should not have any issues, but could be the format you have your game also! They must be in a folder with game name and title i.d. of the game in brackets, then once you go into the folder itself must be game i.d.wbfs. And all drives or sd cards must be formated in fat32! I have USB Loader GX, but when I launch Just Dance 2016, it doesn't work. I don't have the same USB Loader GX settings so I can't resolve the problem. Can you help me ?

Make sure the game's title i.d. matches and structured properly... if that dosent work then you gotta mess around with the settings like i show in the video. You can also try downloading the game from another source, and see if that solves the issue.

Make sure you installed d2x cios installer correctly with proper ios settings and that the game i.d.'s match up, example (gamename.[title id].wbfs and inside the game folder its title i.d.wbfs only... and change the ios game loading to 250 on usb loader gx or cfg or wiiflow. Hope that helps you.

@@tylerstrope805 I think the new one only offers beta 1 now. I'm still using the old one and it works perfect for me. If you downloaded the latest version of d2x cios installer then yes, its gonna be beta 1.

@@FishbeeDelta Ok make sure your using only up to 2TB of a drive, wbfs, Fat32 or NTFS formats all work and make sure your games all have the proper file structure with the title i.d.'s... And there should not be an issue.
Does not work as of 9/10/23. I get either the dsi error occured with coding and wii freezes or a black screen and wii freezes when clicking Play to play a game on wii flow.
Download the latest cios pack and install it on D2X Cios Installer and should work fine.
