- Gena Rowlands reads a passage from R.M. Rilke's "Archaic torso of Apollo": [...] for here there is no place that does not see you. You must change your life.
The scene also includes a reference to Rilke's "The Panther"
In opinion, his greatest movie in so many ways. I know he is under fire, but his understanding of human behavior, his ability to write it and then make it a film is unparelled. Amazing. What lessons for all of us and probably Woody too. Loved this movie.
jjchia58 I totally agree with you! I love his art and intellect. And he is definitely one of the few auteurs who explore the human condition in so many ways and from so different angles
I have watched this movie at least 10 times and i will watch it many more times. So many great scenes. It is a painful truth. I must change my life. .
Agree! Such a masterpiece.
@@jjchia58same here. At least ten times. Gene Hackman is unbelievably good. And the end... That movie is certainly something that I possess
Have you checked out Michael Haneke and Lars von triers? They are very different from Allen but brilliant film makers in their own right.
Such an intense movie!
