I think that if there is no English word for 'blick' we must just add it to our English vocabulary . So as I do my daily walk I'm going to be sure to blick my environment with great joy. Thank you professor Schulte for introducing a new word into the English language

Rilke is very hard to translate, there is something very subtle that Rilke derived from the source language to discover new meanings that he hasn't thought himself of before.
i have a poem from my own....its allot deeper and more poem in my native language but i translate it to english as good as i can... a human its being, will always be a conflict between the animal from which we sprout of,to where we need to be! untill it is but a laughing memory of what we no longer can be. en mens zijn zijn zal altijd een strijd zijn.tussen het dier vanwaar we ontspruit zijn en waar we moeten zijn.tot het een herinnering is van wat we niet meer kunnen zijn.

So, does this ANALYSIS belong to every single "poem" that "we" interpret, translate etc ? Furthermore are all poets/poetry "progressive"? Here is my perspective: if a poem, about "flowers" is written while the poet is imprisoned in a concentration camp, then "we", by necessity, will almost always interpret it as such - even if the poet did NOT mean the poem to be a condemnation of her situation... hence CONTEXT
