  • Here is how to replace the starter motor on a Chevrolet truck with a 5.7 L 350 V8 engine. Replacing the starter on a Chevrolet truck is an easy job, as it is only held in place with 2 Bolts, and they are very easy to get to. In this video you can watch me show you how to replace a starter on your Chevrolet truck. I chose to buy a new starter instead of a rebuilt starter, because I think it will be better quality and will last longer. I hope this video helps you learn how to replace the starter on your truck. The truck in the video is a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado.
Here is where to get a repair manual for this Chevy truck.

Holy crap you just saved me a ton of time and headache with your screenshot about the bolt length. I have a 93 and am self-taught via youtube from knowing nothing about cars 1 year ago. It would have taken me forever to figure out that this was my problem, because it was not mentioned in my instructions and I just thought I wasn't lining the holes up correctly. None of the other videos I watched mentioned it either. Thank you! I just subscribed :)

Good video. Something very important that you need to correct. At the very least you should note on the first line of your description. Disconnect the negative battery terminal first. Why? Because if you have your wrench on the positive terminal and you touch the other end of it to any other metal component you will get a huge spark and will damage your tool and possibly your battery. By disconnecting the negative first, you don't have this potential problem. You don't even need to disconnect the positive terminal if the negative is disconnected. DG

I had the guy from the auto club come out and test it. You need to check and make sure it has power, and that the battery is fully charged, or at least charged enough to spend it, and if it still doesn’t spin, then there is something wrong with it.
