    I watched different channels about heavy towing like this. You speak so clear and so well that the auto text that creates subtitles for the deaf work very well than anyone else on CZcams in heavy towing fields. As a deaf viewer and subscriber, I wanted to thank you for that. I get to enjoy watching it and understand it.

    And this is why you walk the work site. If the ground is soft under your feet a 60k lb truck is gonna sink. Some people don't need to be in a big truck.

      Yeah, Ron Pratt is THE gold standard, period. For all things towing, recovery, and rotator related. As far as I'm concerned, he's basically the grandmaster. So yeah, definitely the guy to emulate or learn from. That being said, I got hooked on Country Repair a few weeks ago, and I feel like they're one of the few that are about on his level. Courteous and professional, safety-minded, and they operate intelligently with a plan. I'm pretty impressed with y'all so far, and would love to meet the gang in person some day.

    Nice job. It is interesting to see the differences in the equipment used in various parts of the country. I'd never seen anyone before using those end grousers. But then, nobody else I watch lives in tundra in the winter.
    On cameras, more is better, and it will be nice to hear the headset audio if you can get that working. One thing you might want to think about trying, is using a head mount (or hardhat mount, if you wear one) camera rather than the chest mount. I personally find the video jerking from side to side with each step a little hard to watch, but that is a natural effect of a chest mount camera. Head mount cameras don't seem to have that problem, though I imagine they take some getting used to.

    Isn’t it nice when truck drivers think they will over ride the tow recovery specialist on scene, I used to love it when I would roll up on a needing truck driver ,and I’m the bad guy, I would say to the driver, do you want my help, then let me do the recovering, oh yes you gotta love them that are stuck in their truck , we make the big money, and they get free from being stuck, you make the money,thanks BigAl California.

    I was wondering, you sounded concerned about possible damage to your endless loop directly into the pintle hook, so, why didn't you take the endless loop strap > shackle > pintle hook? Any shackle rated 30t should work, and if a shackle is too small to fit in the pintle hook, add a master link, I'm sure you have one rated at least 30t. According to your description 7,000lbs of pull was all you needed, so a 5t or 10t shackle/ master link would have sufficed.
    Great videos, from Boise.

    • @CountryEquipmentRentals
      @CountryEquipmentRentals  Před 4 lety +1

      You're correct, and I wasn't at all concerned about the strap, I was simply making a point about not clamping the hitch down on the strap, I have heard of someone doing that and it ripped his strap. So I just wanted to point out to viewers to always watch your equipment and know where you're hooking

      Yeah that's why at the end we had the truck give it a little gas, you're right though we never winch like that, this was just to ensure that he was able to miss those other big ruts, so we just had him give a little so we didn't side load the boom, at that point we were barely winching.
