Are these for charging only?
Hi, I am looking at wanting to do this with 2012 Audi A3 i just got. I would like the extra usb slots in the glove box so I can wire in a usb powered Bluetooth module.
Where did you get the fuse and +12v feed from ?
all available on amazon
Are these easy to install? As in could I do it myself by following this video? I don’t want to risk blowing anything.
The steps in the video are all you need to do. If you have a different car you may need to find the right fuse/wire locations
hey i got a question, i got a 2 usb charger to replace the cigarrette lighter in my 2000 civic and it came with 2 wires which i connected to the positive and negative that were connected to the cigarrette lighter but since last week it started smelling burnt and making noise, do you think that if i use a piggyback connection with a 2 amp fuse (it's a 2.1 amp output) that this will solve my problem?
Sorry for the late reply, you should always put a fuse in between the connections. I would use a 3amp fuse
@@AMRZINE ok thank you, im still fairly new to this kind of stuff so i’m happy you helped me out.
Great, but how about a source for them?
they available on amazon or ebay
ampere fuse?and the port you conect on box fuse?
i used a 5amp fuse, but it depends on the load and what you are connecting
@@AMRZINE i try conect in luggage carrier socket
usb sockets tend to be 5amp so would stick with a 5amp fuse
I am installing something similar , a 12v to 5v usb 3A. What amp fuse would I need? In the video you used 3A though in the comments you used 5A. Just a little bit confused..
I'm connecting 2 dash cams to mine so I'm going with a 10amp fuse tap. Think that'll be good enough?
