The "barrel" of the Ka-Chi is the pressurized hull; the vehicle was designed to withstand 10 atmospheres of pressure (100m depth rating) so as to allow it to be immediately deployable off the back of a submarine.
Not an expert but why would you deploy a tank on a submarine?

Kinetic penetration tests devised by the Americans for the caliber 155 mm (Heavy Tank T30) already showed that this caliber was beyond the end of the line for kinetic rounds - in order to create a gun that would in turn create a suitable muzzle velocity to guarantee competitive penetration you would have to make the gun comically long, and by logical consequence, you would have alter the carrier vehicle to suit that. Combine that with an almost impossible strain on the loader, obviously higher cost per round and a way dimished carry capacity thereof - and well...you would have a tank that defies the very reality of combat. Similar to the Maus (which was, incidentally, also projected to have a 150 mm gun). An extremely costly, super heavy and inefficient war machine.
Of course, that was before the invention of APFSDS shells, the current generation of kinetic shells. I hear there already are prototype 150 mm cannons that fire this round, but at the very least 130 mm guns.
But not Sherman heat from the side at all 😂

To Phly's question about whether IJA/IJN had more amphibious tanks - there are still Type 4 Ka-Tsu and Type 5 To-Ku remaining.
Ka-Tsu would probably be unplayable since it was armed with only two 13mm machine guns, with options to carry and launch 2 torpedoes.
To-Ku on the other hand was an incomplete successor of Ka-Chi, which added a 25mm autocannon as secondary.

Day 16: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1̶.̶3̶ (NOW 1.0!) that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

Seen a locust try to follow a fleet of these into the ocean and died. We had a enemy team of B1s move up the shore and in a fleet off the coast spawn camping us. And of course the only teammates that could pen them were sitting just outside of the empty enemy held points the whole game doing nothing while we got spawn camped. Remember the times when teammates had the brain development past that of a fetus? And not just basically fleshy bots? Yeah me neither
So you didn't bring a useful vehicle and it's their fault? Logic at its finest...
@@kennethmasters9329 yeah it's pretty tough fighting a group of boat tanks 800m away and a group of B1s in our spawn by myself with 2 BR 1.0 and a stock 1.3 Brit tank. While the team sits on the caps without capping or even shooting at anything for 10 mins. Super logic

2:13 I'm no engineer but the game doesn't model spaced armor against HEAT shell jets well. I'm playing with the recently fixed S-tank and it's frustrating when the shell explodes when impacting the front armor but for some reason the jet reaches the firewall/armor through the engine.
