Barbie, I love your videos and what you do! If I could make a suggestion, pick up some disposable shoe covers, especially for when you're working in bathrooms with human waste on the floor. That way you can protect your shoes and avoid getting bacteria on them and getting sick. 😢 please take care of yourself! ❤❤❤
A lot of them are designed to protect the floor from the shoes and not the other way around. You’d need tough and impervious, like a Tyvek type material. Important to make sure they aren’t slippery though.

I think you may need to make yourself a PVC frame to put the trash bag on so it holds it open for you. We use them to hold the large mail bags when we are shipping a lot of packages. You could use it to hold up the trash bags.
When the mental cobwebs start to clear and the depressed person living in a trash hoard finally wants to seek help I'm so glad they have you to safely turn to. I don't know if everyone understands just how scary it is for these folks to ask for help. You are an Angel!

Look up contractor bags
Contractor Bags sold at Lowes and home depot. STURDY. Not cheap, but great when you have huge cleanups to do, like leaves in the fall, clearing out garage etc...

Barbie, the Dollar Tree store has these wonderful little black things that you can stick down the drain, and they pull a lot of the guck out of there to help unclog the drains. It is just a little long plastic thingy with barbs going up it.
You can use a long cable strap or zip tie for the same use. Make some cuts with a knife at the pointed end to make it raspy and look like a harpoon. Then poke with it into the drain.
Bottle cleaning brushes are what they’re called. I use them in my cleaning business.
You are so amazing with your clients. Putting their mental health above your own needs or pushing yourself past cleaning the hazardous toilet.

Having several rescue dogs I had all carpets removed and put hard flooring down. It is so satisfying hoovering the hair up and washing the floor!
Barbie, as well as the disposable shoe covers, PPE that was suggested, also think about the Ames Leaf Grabber Rake or the Darlac Grab-N- Lift DP556 Leaf Grabber( these will grab up the trash for you and you won't have to be bending over or squatting around trash, roaches, human waste, ans spiders that you hate). They really work, I've seen a lawn care pick up leaves and yard debri with them. All of these items could be a great investment and keep you safe. PLEASE, PLEASE,stay safe from all those germs and infestations that can make you sick and be taken home to your family too.

For a basic plumbing snake hair remover. They are simple, small, cheap and disposable. Really clear drain clogs. They are about 20inches long, thin plastic with little plastic hook like texture on the sides and you can get 12 of them. Worth having for the houses you clean

Ty Barbie, Alot of overwhelmed people need this video. I think mom's and dad's with kids get overwhelmed fast. Very inspiring. I too always learn something new and our place is cleaner and healthier because of your videos and Midwest Majics videos. When you run the gauntlet of a busy life and are not home much, things can quickly get out of hand. Just keeping up with the everyday of laundry, dishes, dinners, shopping, bills, taking care of kids, straightening up just for them to mess everything up two minutes later. Ty again...Wish we could do as fast as you though. But we are getting better! You're an angel on this earth! ty again! ❤❤❤
With that one bathroom with all that tissue and then the worst to come with THAT toilet etc... l would have passed out l think... and l did some heavy messie cleaning myself too for others at times ... Thank you so much for all your help for the people.... be blessed... with mental issues prople often end up with situations like this. .. it is a devastating task... for who has to clean it all... Whow... you did SO GREAT !! That stench must have been the horrors too.... And YOU did NOT fail at all... !!! You did a miracle in that place.... (as in all) l only hope that all these people really aprecheate all you do for them and worship their clean home....

You are so kind. I know your part is to get their living quarters to a point where it's no longer bad for their physical and mental health. I hope so much that these folks you help can understand that they need mental health help (in some cases -- in others I realize they are physical disabled or have other illnesses that prevent them from doing the work to maintain their homes.). In the first home, it's mostly trash... I feel so sad for this 24 year old that they couldn't even get trash bags and throw out their trash. They must be in a really bad way. I hope they get better.

She frequently cleans for people who have mental health disorders like depression and hoarding disorder. Therapy would be good for them. You are correct. We could all use a bit of therapy.
My brother in law and his wife were like that, but they just didn't like to work, and I used to clean their place, they got insulted

When I struggled with cleaning most I made a sort of "system" - I bought food for 1-2 days and almost never cooked,nor drank from mugs, ate on disposable dishes and threw out trash at least twice a week. I used bins for clean clothes plus big separate ones for dirty colour/dirty whites. I kept a trash can ( with a bag in so it's easier to take out without getting grosss) near bed and desk where most of stuff gets accumulated. This significantly reduced the clean up to taking out the trash and doing surfaces, which was much faster and easier when there wasn't any stuff in the open. The less clutter, the easier and more pleasant it is to clean. Getting there wasn't easy, as my mom was a compulsive spender and we simply had an overabundance of things I wasn't allowed to throw out without a designated place to store them. The more stuff, the harder it is to clean, so I know how mentally tough it must be to start when things got this bad already.
Its always incredible to see how in those levels of hoarding they somehow managed to avoid causing a huge fire

I can’t clean my house like I used to when I was younger, I’m almost 75. But I still try to keep the dishes washed & the trash took out. This doesn’t make any sense, everybody can put trash in an indoor trash can & not just throw it on the floor. Also put clothes in a clothes hamper.
The kids' room turned out, darling. LOL pink carpets are a pain to keep clean.

@@GrandmaLMI don’t know Dawn power spray, but mixing chemicals or cleaning products in general can be very dangerous. Never mix alkaline and acid based products, that can create very toxic gases
