I apologize that I forgot to clarify this, but it was not Xisumavoid who denied GenerikB to rejoin Hermitcraft, but instead, it was a group decision. xBCrafted also stated on Reddit that the way it works, is that the whole group would vote on a decision for hermitcraft, but if even 1 person has concerns for the situation, then the discussion is over. Every hermit must give consent for a new member to join. Now, I do not know who exactly was the one/ones who brought up the concerns for GenerikB rejoining, but they probably had valid reasons for doing so. Please do not get the impression or blame Xisumavoid for these decisions, thank you.

@@Steady712 he left to play with his friends on a different server. Nothing snake like about that at all. Don't forget etho, B-Dubs, doc, and beef all also played mindcrack at the time aswell. Non of them played hermitcraft untill after mindcrack went under. Not to mention another reason genny left was to travel the world with his wife.
@@ArinTv999 nothing against Genny but the recent events even more proves that it was a good decision. It's not so simple like that he left to play into another server or just to travel the world. It has to be more complicated than that to make such differences between him and others.
I appreciate your efforts here but there are a few inaccuracies, The main thing being that actually started with about 10 of us :-) Anyways its always nice to see this kind of content out there!

Let's not forget the whole fiasco where GenerikB did a stream claiming that he was back in Hermitcraft and raised a ton of money in donations that were supposed to go to charity by faking the names of other Hermits in the in game chat only to have people find out later on that it was all fake and he ripped a bunch of people off.

That's very significant. He can't be trusted. Nor anyone that would think of doing such a thing.
One small thing to add regarding the process of joining the HC server - Xisuma has stated multiple times that he is not the sole decider on such things. Any applications are run by all of the Hermits, who make a joint decision on whether someone should be added or not. Now - I don't know whether it's a majority vote or if everyone needs to agree, but it would definitely play a part in some of these trying to rejoin!
Yeah, all the hermits need to agree. If even one person has concerns, then the discussion is over.
Plz. He has verified check mark next to his name. We all know what that means. Its means he and all the others toe the line and turn into SJW when ever they touch on any topic. Will be the same for anyone else that joins.

I just like all of them as a person they are all unique but still understand each other and if all of them are nice (which is just my opinion but i would say most people with agree with it) and they all agree on choosing someone then he/she will be most likely a good person too

TFC: One of the most legendary hermits. Xisuma said "he really had the hermit spirit in him". He sadly died of health problems in early season 9. However, not much know this, because he wasn't too involved with other people, but was VERY with the server itself. RIP TFC
He was one of my favorites.

Pretty much Season 6 was a borderline of alot new hermits coming and old ones finally burnt out and finally went
That and season 4
I only watch Hermitcraft since the start of s7 and only watched some episodes of older seasons (mostly s6) from current hermits. This was very interesting to watch. I heard of some of the former members, but that was often more like "In ye olden days of 2012..". So I was actually surprised that some only left after s6! Makes me think that it may not be so unlikely that other hermits leave... I now feel for the viewers of them who enjoyed Hermitcraft and were sad to see them leave. But ultimately, I also think that creators should do what makes them happy rather than drag out a thing they no longer want to do!
Yes, I agree! I also consider myself a new viewer since I only started watching in Season 7, but I became obsessed with Hermitcraft. I really wish I was able to stumble across Hermitcraft back in the older seasons.
@@SodioYT Oh wow, I wouldn't have guessed. How did you manage the season change? During s7 I didn't understand the people who seemed so stuck in older seasons/events. But now I understand that the first season people watch of Hermitcraft will most likely always hold a special place in their hearts.
@@Zinoba_ I started watching in season 2? (the season mumbo joined. It was actually through him that I learned about hermit craft existing) But It isn't my favorite. I really liked season 3? (amplified) and season 4 and 6, 7 and 8 (I was busy and completely skipped season 5 and still have not had extra time to go back and watch it).
I actually stumbled upon on it at the very beginning of season 7. I had searched BdoubleO since I watch the crew (With KyrSp33dy) and he was in their minecraft Monday server. So I CZcams searched him and Found hermit craft even though Grian is the main Hermit I watch now. It's funny to see BdoubleO go from the very much R rated Crew to the PG style of Hermitcraft.
Leaving isn't that rare in hermitcraft, neither is rejoining, I actually remember in season 6 when Bdubs and Keralis joined and everyone was super excited, same with Wells in s7, and I was like "who?". It's hard to imagine the server without them but at some point they did leave.
I don't think people understand just how huge an undertaking it is to play and maintain a Hermitcraft series. It's incredibly difficult.
Yeah, it takes a lot of time and effort. You gotta have Hermitcraft as a full time career to be able to maintain it. It’s amazing to see how ppl like Cleo and Impulse were able to play hermitcraft while still having another job.
As a huge Etho fan who's been watching him for almost 10 years I came to hermitcraft after he decided to leave mindcrack due to the legal stuff.
I always knew about hermitcraft in my peripherals because of generikb, biffa, and xisuma, but only started watching when he joined. Super cool to learn about the history! My favorite parts of the Mindcrack minecraft server was when people did content together and pranks and stuff, but everyone had started to go solo or burn out after a week on a new world. I think joining hermitcraft was one of the best decisions content-wise for Etho. It's so strange to me that there's people out there who have no idea mindcrack existed and was super popular years ago, and hermitcraft is the first time they're hearing of the redstone-master-hopper-clock-inventor-and-troll-extraordinaire Etho lol.

As a completionist, it bothers me very much that Biffa removed all his Minecraft content. Especially since he lasted through season 6
I don't understand why he would do that. Now I will simply never get a chance to watch him.
Seeing Pungence confused me as he has the same skin as the original BDubs
finding out they're brothers makes it make a lot more sense!
I remember watching some of the Hermits playing Among Us and when Pungence's name displayed for the first time it gave me a wave of nostalgia. I doubt he'll rejoin Hermitcraft anytime soon because he doesn't play Minecraft anymore and I remember Jevin saying that for a new member to join there has to be a unanimous vote; but what I can imagine easily is him joining the 3rd season of 3rd/Last life
Pungance is an icon. I hope he can spend a day on the server with his brother. I mean, he’s close with the other hermits (see streams) so I’m sure many would be fine with it.
Yeah just know that it takes a unanimous vote for someone to be added/let back. Meaning even if one Hermit has concerns about someone they'll be denied.

Monkeyfarm now that fucking takes me back to the old days. Literally aside from Etho I dont think anyone else had a better grasp on redstone then he did. Heck I didn't even realise what I was watching was actually him on the first 2 seasons of hermitcraft until I saw the giant skull from s2 in a hermitcraft history vid.
Monkey, Doc, and Etho were pretty much the OG technical minecrafters. Doc did a whole history lesson on technical Minecraft on his Twitter last week
monkey farm definitely has potential it would be interesting to see him interacting with teh hermits maybe on a sub server

Pungence has the highest chance of rejoining in my opinion since he has a close connection with a lot of the hermits with one of the hermits (Bdubs) being his literal IRL brother
Possibly the brothers share there money from bdubs for some there taxes and food and pc upgrades and support local charities and hermitcraft charities
I've been watching Hermitcraft from day 1. So many years makes me feel old but I have enjoyed ALL Hermits content and those that have left for any reason I still love and respect. yes I miss the ones not in Hermitcraft but I still follow those that still create content. Hermitcraft does take a lot of time and dedication but the community is one of the best out there. If you find a content creator you really enjoy, do what you can to support them! They do work hard.
Same, I spent so much time watching the streams and videos hanging out in chat or comments. I even made friends with a couple of the hermits which was really neat.
I'd say Monkey could be good to go in Hermitcraft again. Having another builder would definitely make it more amazing to see different build style.
I think Xisuma mentioned him on (I wanna say) first HHH stream. That's when I first heard of him, and also I have not checked out any of his content. but, X likes him. So, I think X would let someone who can make content for whole season.
As ImpulseSv says he wants SKizzleman to join Hermitcraft, but he is not recommending him to team, as he dont have any dedicated or regular videos.
But, I really want Pixleriff to join HC, I think he is really close to join, as his presence in TwitchRivels Hermitcraft Raiders event, and Clash of the creators event.
Pretty sure the former hermits are mostly mentioned as "offline" means they can comeback whenever because they are already invited. Not sure it applies to all former ones though.
@@abhishekropalkar I doubt pixel riffs would get invited because he does the hermitcraft recap and I think the hermits would prefer it to stay that way and not interfere with that. In the case of monkey even if X likes him every hermit must decide if someone can join it has to be a unanymous decision... You never know behind the scenes if maybe one person has an issue for some reason... Also usually the reason people don't just get an invite to HC isn't based on their personality or anything like that, it's because they don't want players who aren't dedicated to uploading content, or that will "burn out" easy... Which is why I think they haven't re invited most of the old Timers who wanted to come back because their track record isn't very good... They might think they want to rejoin, then when they do it becomes too much and they leave again... It just makes a mockery of the SMP, it's a professional career to these people, if you ran a business you wouldn't let a member of staff leave and come back multiple times if they can't handle the tasks they have.
Again, Pixlriffs already answered that he wasn't joining in Hermitcraft bcoz first of all, he wasn't invited. Second, he didn't want to join as he is in Hermitcraft Recap. Lastly, he stated that he better be rather a recap reporter than a hermit bcoz being a hermit requires you a lot of time and grinding, which he said he didn't like.

Sp00n's troublesome transgressions aside, it's weird to imagine a time where hermitcraft wasn't fully family friendly. I wonder when that was solidified? What season did they decide to put a definitive family friendly rule in place?
Btw Python’s main channel is now Minecraft and he barely play’s terraria. He left the server to focus on his single player series
Interesting to learn about the history of Hermitcraft an SMP I grew to really enjoy watching over the last couple of years. Well structured video!
Literally the hermits I watched regularly back in those early days were dmac, genny, topmass, bdubs and biffa. Hey at least bdubs came back. Twice lmao

I remember Pungence. My little sisters were big fans of him and would watch his Amazing Frog videos every day. I don’t know if they still watch him, but they used to talk about Amazing Frog nonstop. They would also watch DMAC’s Ark series every day.
you know next year hermitcraft is 10 years old. I would love to see one video or 2 with a lot of the old crew. just a small video with everybody having fun before the next season begins.
I wish that Hermitcraft would re-invite some of the former hermits to rejoin; especially ones who have expressed interest and/or play Minecraft with current hermits.
Everyone has to agree and also they look more for people that will have consistent uploads and dedication. Many of the early members as is shown have inconsistent uploads at best even when active.
@@Duke00x yeah that not really fair tho cause that was way back when monetization was barely a thing and some the people just weren't big enough to support themselves so had to work harder for family and stuff
@@dobber43 people who stuck around also did sacrifices. So there's nothing we can really do about it really. The best thing we can do is move on forward.
I watched a few Season 7 episodes of Hermitcraft, Specifically mumbo jumbo and Grian (My personal favorites). When Season 8 started, I kept much more up to date on the series, I’ve watched all episodes from Grian and Mumbo jumbo, as well as a few others from hermits like Impulse and Gem. I might properly watch Season 7 and even 6 at some point, (I belive Season 7 was 1.15-1.16, while 6 was 1.13-1.15)
I recommend you watch the other boatem members + iskall and xisuma

i would like to see sl1pg8r come back to the server I believe his personally would match the current hermits and his build at the time was amazing
Last time I watched Sl1pg9r he was doing Ark. I watched a lot of ark at the time also but got busy and somewhat lost interest and so stopped watching his channel (plus all the butt jokes got a bit redundant. Funny at first but was over used. Had he cut the usage in half it would still be funny). Thinking about it I think (but can't remember for sure) I went back to check a year or so later and he was playing a game I had no interest in at all. And so I just kept not watching his stuff.
This is epic. Better than I thought it was gonna be.
I even saw KingDaddyDMac pop in on a Direwolf20 stream once a few months ago, checking out what modpack Dire was playing at the time. Slip is probably my favorite hermit in that list that I'd love to see rejoin, too. Also, I think it was Python that said he left partially because he didn't enjoy the roleplay aspect the hermits were doing in later seasons. (Not sure what he means by that - they've kind of been doing that since season 1-ish with the b-team and the agency).

Dude, as a passinate fan of Hermitcraft, your video was AWESOME! And I definitely agree about Iamspoon. I read the letter by pausing the video and the fact he held himself accountable with zero level of excuses, it seemed very genuine. I hope he is doing better now.
I would absolutely love to spend just 1 day with some of the hermits and getting to see how they approach builds because good grief that is the hardest part for me.

Really curious why the former hermits’ requests to rejoin were denied. Knowing xisuma, I’m sure there’s a logical reason for it but I’m just not so sure about the rules of their server
The decision for whether certain hermits could join/rejoin or not is made by a group vote. So if even ONE person disagrees with the decision, or has concerns, then the discussion is over.
And I think that they didn’t let certain people back in at certain times because either their current content didn’t rlly fit the theme of hermitcraft, or if they have too many members at the moment
I know why a couple hermits were denied. Though it's not really for me to say why.

it'll be nice to see etho join back into season 9, hopefully somewhat later in the season given the personal issues he has been tending with for the past 3-4 months. only recently starting back into youtube, and still stating in his first update back video that he does intend on being a part of hermitcraft season 9, even if he has missed the start of the season due to said personal issues he has had to deal with with family matters. he's a very strong minded person to mentally be able to deal with these issues in a productive and healthy manner.
Yes, personal life and family matters are more important than making videos, so it’s good to see he’s focusing on other things right now rather than hermitcraft. He can take all the time he needs

DMAC was my first ever hermit! I remember my first minecraft phase faded with his, because I wanted to play ARK like him. If he ever decided to return to hermitcraft, he'd immediately shoot to the top of my watchlist!

Wow, I didn’t realize that some of the Hermits left as recently as the end of Season 6. I started watching Hermitcraft around that time
I remember KingDaddyDMac. I have still one of his world downloads, the first world ever I downloaded. I think Season 8 on hermitcraft will make sudden turns very many story lines already. The question I ask myself is this season the peak of Hermitcraft or will it rise even more in popularity?
Okay guys, so I was a huge red3yz fan back in the day, watching all the way to his last vid.
I remember in the time leading up to his departure watching either a video or live stream where he talked really frankly about pain and chronic illness. It was almost woody's gamer tag style chill discussion over game play (although it was recorded live). Does anyone else remember this? I want to find this piece of media because it is a memory that has been stuck in my head ever since I was a kid.

Out of all the different CZcamsrs out there, Minecrafters who are doing the grind must be insane. Think one would have to be all in to survive, just not enough time in the day.

It's kinda ironic. Back in the day when i was following Mindcrack, i was watching as GenerikB first announced hermitcraft. At the time i didnt think much of it, felt like yet another regular SMP. Some time later Mindcrack imploded and look where Hermitcraft is now, oh boy was i proven wrong.
GenerikB was the first Minecrafter I ever followed, I watched him from his very early singleplayer days. When he announced Hermitcraft, I was dubious it would ever amount to much, considering there were big guys like Mindcrack around, and GenerikB always seemed better at coming up with ideas than seeing them through.
I kept watching him and others until shortly after the fall of Mindcrack, when I quite quickly stopped watching Minecraft content entirely. I've called it the end of my Golden Age of Minecraft. I guess I was also a bit burnt out on it.
Only in the past few years have I learned that Hermitcraft is well and alive and stronger than ever, and my interest in Minecraft has also revitalized. I've again started watching Minecraft content from creators like Grian and MumboJumbo, and it's great to see the many old familiar names who are still around like Bdubs, Etho, Doc, and many others, and that they're still creating new things in Minecraft.
Same! I remember it being announced and brushing it aside because I watched Mindcrack, then Mindcrack went and killed itself LOL. I moved over to Hermitcraft when Etho did cause he's who I've watched for ~10 years. It's really weird to think there's young people out there who have never heard of Mindcrack considering it was probably one of the forerunners for youtube minecraft smp series.

GenerikB is the original CZcamsr who got me hooked into watching hermitcraft then my man big eye keralis.. wish GenerikB could make a comeback even for a day, miss seeing his content and hearing his voice to give a good laugh

I've watched Biffa for a few years now (like 2 maybe 3) didn't know he was on Hermitcraft until recently.

Python, Pungence, and Biffa are the most interesting to me. Unfortunately I didn't watch Hermitcraft until season 5 and even then, I mainly just watched Bdub's videos (which cut off quite early in the season too), so I definitely remember Python and Biffa from that season. Pungence, I mainly seen him in Bdub's vlogs. After Generik's shenanigans before season 8, I don't see him ever rejoining.

I find it really odd that ex hermits that were there from the beginning were denied to come back but still they allowed new members.
HC is like a huge group project u gotta be committed to working on for the whole season, maybe it just wasnt a good fit?
