Such issues dont have to be as bad as fucking alzheimer's but they can exist either due to memory damage or immense trauma especially at immensely young ages. And these memories are not always lost permanently but can sometimes require triggers to remember.

It was really cool to see this video. I've been watching Etho's videos for well over a decade (not sure on the exact time, but sometime prior to Minecraft 1.2.5?) and it was a nice trip down memory lane. At the same time, I'm somewhat sad because there's so much there that just isn't captured, simply because of how long he's been playing. He was a technical Minecrafter before those were really a thing (and long before the term mutated into using glitches, sub-tick mechanics, and memory corruption). The invention of the B.U.D. switch and the Hopper Clock (among numerous other things too numerous to remember or list, although I feel the villager trade clock may become one such) changed the game greatly, and of course his simple mob farms have endured in some form even today when people try to eke out the most efficient designs. This video misses (by necessity) some of the ways in which he made his worlds so enduring and how he's never stopped building cool machines. He's never stopped learning or developing new skills. His editing is quite good now, and the noteblock work blew me away, although he never gets to show it onscreen now since copyright apparently applies even to noteblock covers of old VGM tracks. It also misses nearly completely Etho's sense of humor. You wouldn't know it from this video, but Etho seems to be one of those rare people who's a great friend but who'll also never miss a chance to gently prank them (or the audience; I still laugh whenever he names a new farming implement). I started watching his series when VintageBeef discovered a clever TNT-based noisemaker under his base on the Mindcrack server, and while I sadly haven't really watched VintageBeef in many years, Etho has never strayed from his original combination of clever design and humble humor.
At this point, Etho is a legend not just for the person he still is, but also the sheer amount of time that he's been making Minecraft videos. That one at least was covered. His channel is a literal time capsule of most of the entire public development of Minecraft and what can really be done with it, and it's amazing.
If you're looking for something similar, I suggest looking at Vechs. While his channel has mostly gone dormant lately, he was an incredibly prolific researcher and player trap designer, most of which he then used in the Minecraft worlds he made as challenges for other players.
