Great idea
What an awesome job you guys did!💯🎯‼️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Let’s pretend like you did this for a living… How much would it cost for materials and labor to have someone build this? Honestly in your opinion⁉️
Imagine having this in a small house. People walk in and half the house isn’t there but you got a fancy ass bookcase.
I like it. Tiny house plan
There’s an art exhibit in Santa Fe NM that is built like a house, but there are hidden passages throughout which lead to other areas. Meow Wolf.
Like the opposite of a Harry Potter tent, I like it. 👍🏾
Imagine having this five foot into your front door. You walk into the house and it's only five foot long and there's a bookshelf.
@@jasonlovi8745 I was just thinking this lol. Imagine bringing a girl home and you open the front door and all she sees is a bookshelf in front of her. It'd be like the episode of Futurama where Bender made him sleep in a closet until he opened up the rest of the room
I need this, but not for the secrecy. I'm just running out of places to put bookshelves.
Install some built-in shelving in the walls throughout your house
*but its not what you think..*
Sure not for secrecy.
Turns every door in house into a bookcase, not for secrecy but cause Rick needed more bookshelves 🤣
Olá teria o projeto pra construir uma no meu país grato parabéns
Just needs a secret unlocking mechanism instead of the keyfob
Yeah like pulling on the fourth book from the left or something. Maybe you gotta move a candlestick.
The key fob cuts the power on the electromagnetic
Like the book in the Addams family's library or the bust in batman's study
@@pabloramirez4672 so, just cutting the power to the house would render all "secret" locks useless?
@@cojack5080 depends if he has it hooked to a separate power source
You're a real security expert by deactivating all those "It's not secret anymore" comments. 👏👏🍻
Lol
No one likes a negative nancy. I for one am glad he deleted them. Who wants that crap.
If you want to take whatever is hiding in there you have to break into his house I feel like even if it wasn’t meant to it might make him uncomfortable
Hahahaha 😅 But you were still able to talk about “it’s not a secret anymore” comment. You see what a I did ha. 🥸😄🤣
If you are one of those who posted such a comment you had it coming
@@DEATH_TO_TYRANTS criticism is sometimes needed
Dude that is oddly satisfying to watch you build that the thing is really cool
Totally badass! Especially that magnetic lock. Great place to hide.
I would suggest a combination of a mag lock and drop bolts if you want to build a place to hide. The drop bolts are much more secure because they do not rely on electricity and a good seal (mag locks will not lock securely if they have debris in-between the surface). Drop bolts can also be easily set to stay locked (called fail secure) if the power goes out meaning you wouldn't loose your lock if you lost your power. No worries about the fail secure and getting locked in though. You can access the drop bolts from inside and get out. You either install them in such a way that you can physically unlatch them, or you have a set of contacts that you can energize with a spare battery like a 9 volt (unnecessary but cool) to unlock the bolt.
I'd keep the mag lock as well though because they are much easier to make it where there is no wiggle at all, therefore not giving your secret hideout away 🤙
Hide where a cheap magnetic lock is supposed to keep someone out.. also the room isn't sound proofed so they can hear you if you even are breathing too hard while they are present in there.. not smart to use as a hiding place
@@capn.c5321 so.... You just sound proof it... right? It is new.
Best part of this is him saying “I know it’s not a secret anymore”! A lot of people are dumb and they don’t realize that by showing themselves on camera, someone will notice who it is and where the house is. Good for him, bottom line is he had something bad ass built! Good luck trying to break into that room, better yet that’s safe! You have a 0% chance… This is crazy awesome… If you don’t have one already, create a panic room with cameras inside! Now that would be awesome… I just subscribed, and gave you a thumbs up, super impressed. I commented on another video asking if you bought it or made it, now I know the answer! Lol. I have made a comment about hiding The little gap on the bottom, this one is completely finished versus the other video the floor was unfinished, etc.… Great job, Bro, super impressed… I wish you lived near me, I would have you build me some crazy stuff! People don’t realize though, if you hire a contractor to do a secret room with possessions inside… Now that person knows what you have in your house, how it works, etc. and you could have an inside jobto rob you! Some people don’t think that far ahead… Lol
Quality workmanship.
Thanks! My dad is teaching me his expertise!!
Now load the shelf with books and stuff see if it can handle the weight.
That's pretty cool, like the way it swings in so it won't leave a track on the floor.(obviously).
There's no flooring yet so that gap underneath could be lost quickly depending on the material used. Carpet and a tile too thick could be problematic.
You wouldn’t be able to see the track unless you were in the secret room.
Now I know to look for no track marks! Then I know it must be there!
@@6mdm as yoda would say, track marks there are not.
Can anyone else tell how excited this man sounds?
I know, I will work on it!!
Cool idea! You guys are very talented! I'm a tradesman and I tip my hat!
Lol he's already got his tactical helmet hanging up
The ultimate gun room. That is so bad ass.
No prizes for guessing which country you're from, mate 😊
@@izhamsham843 😂😂😂
I feel like for it to be the ultimate gun room, instead of a bookshelf it needs to be a wall with a mounted trophy head on the wall which in actuality has the whole animal behind it. Lol
My thoughts exactly.. "to the armory!"
Ultimate gun room till they shut the breaker off and since many mag locks fail open so nobody gets trapped inside rooms with mag locks if the power goes out........ taaaa daaahhh hello ultimate gun room!!!! Hmmm ... I'll take this one and that one over there.... ooh screw it just grab them all and let's go!!!! Lol thats my take on it!!!! Hahaha but it is sweet though looks awesome
I’ve never heard someone sound so enthusiastic about their craft and creation 😂
The last scentence makes the magic complete.
🪄
Very cool. Love the magnetic locking mechanism. That adds a great level of security and also helps eliminate the possibility of someone stumbling across it.
Yah. Thanks. Your secret is safe with us. Really. We won't tell.
I appreciate the build and skill expressed in this video clip.
The amount of enthusiasm In your voice sold it to me
🤣
Don't forget to check the building plans so you don't have your landlord hiding in your house as has been the case at least a thousand times before.
Jackie Chan's got his house near dialed in. I'm wanting something like march has in AHS but less sinister haha
This is awesome! I need one of these!
I love how you said "I know, it's not a secret anymore"😂 Cute!
Friend: Cool house bro, where’s the rest of it.
Panic room guy: Ummm, what do you mean that’s it 😳… how the F does he know about my panic room?!?
I would totally do this to go into my game room
Just don't leave any Scooby snacks behind it or those meddling kids will find it.
" I would have gotten away with it too..."
OMG. So funny my kids find those and gummy vitamins no matter where we hid them.
And their dumb dog
This comment clearly shows your age… 40
Raggy?!
Burglar enters home. Quick, someone find where I put the garage door opener key fob (wink wink)

Def need to see it
Really like it . Amazing . How much dose something like that cost if you do it yourself ? Thanks really interested in seeing full build . Did you have to put a roller wheel on opposite side of hinges to support the weight of cabinet ? Thanks dude . I hope you can make money and sell some of those secret closet doors. Good luck to you .
It cost me just under $500. The door was free though. And yes I put an adjustable caster on the opposite side for extra support.
Slick and sick bro. I see that gun safe back there LOL. I'd one up you if I could and I'd install a Japanese toilet in there, so when you open the door it breaks a beam of IR light and it says "Konnichiwa" and asks what temperature you want the water.
Jajajajaja secreto y lo publica en Internet?
Did that ! In 1980 to go from bathroom upstairs to office ! Was a great piece disguised as T111 in farmhouse bathroom
I'm not sure why yet but I'm saving this video 🤔
Very nice work
Awesome 💯👍
Finally a fucking good short video.
Good job it looks great and well built. I used the same techniques to build the Murphy bed in our home office
Thanks! 👍
Doing the same for my hidden gun room but its limited on space inside.
Yes! That's exactly what I would put behind my secret door, too
I like that it pushes in, instead of outward.. no drag marks on the floor to give it away.. Cool!😊👍💙🇨🇦
Thank you!! Saves me room in my living room too!
What happens when you actually put books on the shelves? Will it still open smoothly with the extra weight?
I guess we will see… I do have an adjustable caster on the opposite corner to support weight.
I've installed a few Murphy doors and those held up. Can put whatever on them. But those have different style hinges. I would assume these would start to rub with weight and time
@@SatisfyDIY that's the only way those standard hinges will survive. Even still you'd be better off putting heavier hinges on there
People do not use books any more.
Lol
My dad built these 40+ years ago we had one in each house growing up. And we'd be all wow him laughing I've been making these since I was a teen... lmao
I'm actually mad impressed that can be supported by only 4 standard commercial door hinges
And a caster on opposite side. I forgot to put in video.
It’s only “not a secret anymore”, if someone can actually get in it without you.🤷🏻♀️🤣🔥
Made one of these for a client of mine, but I made it soundproof so you cant even tell they have part of the house behind it haha
That sir, I believe is illegal. 😳
@@maniacalmonster2293 how is it illegal to build a soundproof room? Lots of home theaters are built to this spec.
@@sexytopramen soundproof hidden room. think about it. and i was jus kinda bs’n
@@maniacalmonster2293 I get the implication, but I don't know anywhere where that room would be illegal. Now, chopping people's fingers off in that room, that part is probably illegal.
@@sexytopramen I guess it was just partly my mind speaking aloud about certain situations. I don’t know. the hole in the basement came to mind and it puts the lotion on the skin.. Imagine if his hole was soundproof?
I think one of the biggest questions I have is how you set up the cuts to line up so perfectly opposite the hinges, considering how thick the door is when it's all said and done.
There is a piece of wood parallel to the seam to hide it. You can see it about half way through the video that it overhangs the frame
Fire rated door, commercial hinges and commercial mag lock, nice
"Alright, I've gotten about a million questions-"
"Lucky for you, I filmed every step of the process"
😂
lpl: gents, today I’m gonna show you how to break into a secret magnetic bookshelf door with no tools just only toggle off main breaker
Click on one. Okay, that's the power off, now let's take a look at this lock.
But we wanna keep some lights on so the biggest security flaw with this is there a breaker labeled book shelf and when we turn that off it let's us right in so folks I wouldn't recommend this to anyone anyways that's all I have for you today and as always have a good day
Actually, that would be preferred method for a panic room.
On power failure, you'd want to still be able to open it from the outside, jump in, then throw the manual bolt from the inside that cannot be opened from the outaide with or without power.
Hi-tech security! Wooooooo! 🤑🤑🙊🙊
I love the intergrated mag lock bro!!!
Thank you!! Wanted a cool way to keep it closed!
This one is the best I have seen.
Glad you like it!
Yeah this is definitely looks cool but as soon as you start loading that bookshelf with books and heavy things and open it a few dozen times those hinges are not going to last too long. I know he said their commercial hinges I've been working in facilities and physical plant my whole life. I have replaced many a doors and many a hinges that were $1,000 plus doors with the best commercial hinges you can get. The fact of the matter is metal rubbing metal consistently will wear out and will cause issues. That door closes so smooth so nice right now but give it a year or two of opening if it's used a lot and you will most certainly have issues with it not lining up not closing properly not to mention the squeaky ass hinges. But I've always wanted a secret room with a bookshelf door You can easily just make the bookshelf a lot smaller Make it closer to the size of the door.
The width was to accommodate the wide gun safe in the hidden room.
@@JonPBixby I understand that. But you cannot have so much weight hanging off the end. If you have a 36-in door and then mount a shelf almost double the width of that and then load that whole bookshelf up with books which are really heavy. After opening it over and over for maybe a year you'll start to have some issues. I have no doubt that the commercial products they're using are solid but there are no hinges that I've ever used in a commercial application that are invincible and never fail. If he throws a caster on the far end of the shelf on the bottom so that it has some support and rolls on the floor as well, I'd be satisfied with that. I would use the exact same method just wouldn't have the shelf so big.
I do have a caster on the opposite end for that exact reason. I forgot to include in video.
@@SatisfyDIY ahh , I missed that. Well then great work. Carry on.
I build one. Every time I go trough that door I’m at my neighbor. He doesn’t like that very much. Me neither. He has no beer.
That's cool!
Great job guys 👏👏👏👏
Well if that 500lb safe wasn’t in there he would have been able to accommodate his entire family… someone in that family is surely being sacrificed.
It's a secret room not a fukkin safe room.
@@mygorgeousmedia actually, it is a safe room. There is a safe in there. It is a room for his safe. Thus it is his "safe" room.
@@thomasarussellsr wowwww you took the time to come up with that you could have built your own what a fukkin genius. 🙏🏽🤷🏾♂️
I need this. I'm a mom who is an introvert.
I need a hiding place!
Perfection🤫
You can hide the cookies, chips and Mama juice in there. LOL
That turned out super nice. Customers gotta be impressed, I am. Good job
I am the customer, and I love it. Glad you like it too!
Incredible!
May I suggest some face framing over the door seem all along the front of your bookcase? It's really easy to see it's a door because of that seem.
Wouldn't wanna be stuck in there if there was a fire.
You can open it from the other side
@@slackmartin7610 say you were unresponsive in that room with the door closed (which is highly likely) how would firefighters find this room?
@@althornes8805 yeah that would indeed be a problem, where I live you can report ”secret rooms” to the fire department so they know about them if a fire happens in the house. But I dont know if that’s a thing everywhere 🤔 I see your point though
It's amazing those 3 hinges hold up that much weight sideways.
4 plus a caster on the far side.
I need this in my laundry room. It’s a great idea for laundry stuff.
I actually thought about making a locker style setup in my laundry room to store all of the cleaning supplies!
Sucks when the battery on the remote dies out suddenly in an emergency..
Way to be positive lol.
It's just like the red dot and weapon light on your rifle. You make sure you have set dates and you change the batteries on those dates before they're dead. Also, access systems like you saw here with the mag lock, have many backups. You have RFID, pin pads, finger print pads, REX buttons (rex=request to exit). The best for this system, which is easily available if you look through different access control systems on Amazon and elsewhere, would be the RFID since you could easily hide it behind the wood. This would allow the secrecy to remain, and all you would have to do is wave your RFID tag over the right spot to trigger the lock to open.
You also have the choice to make your system fail secure or fail safe. Meaning if you lost power to the system itself, including your back up battery (remember though, you should change/charge important batteries BEFORE they die) the system will either stay locked without power (fail secure) or unlock (fail safe). I know this is separate from your concern, but I'd add it to the lesson.
I hope I've changed your life....or at least gave you a little helpful info 😉 lol.
Bonus lesson unrelated to this particular door. And hopefully the crooks don't read this far. Commercial buildings have REX sensors. The vast majority of REX sensors only look for for a change in temperature. This is different than a REX button that you have to push, and is installed on almost all occupied commercial buildings for Incase of an emergency like a fire. It detects people coming and automatically unlocks the door. Here's the lesson. All it takes to break into a building with a REX sensor (the vast majority of buildings remember) is a can of compressed air. You hold the can upside down and I shoots out super cold liquid and gas. You simply spray that through the gap on the door (all doors have a slight gap, except clean rooms used in science labs) and it triggers the REX sensor unlocking the he door. Hehehe

Me or the bookshelf is the real question?
Great workmanship!Always wanted one of those. Is there a way to lock it, but still open quickly in emergency & bolt from inside?
Thank you!! There is an emergency exit button on the inside but I didn’t install a way to bolt closed.
