The combo was pure fire. I always wanted to built a monoblack deck with Krrik. Now I got some insights.

Oh man, K’rrik is my pet cEDH deck. Admittedly less powerful than my other cEDH deck (Kess) but so fun to play since it’s such a unique mechanic! It’s sooo satisfying to play! Good luck with your brew.
I love playing krrik, its so much fun going down to little to nothing life only to win a turn later.
The key to decks like Krrik--learn to mulligan.
He’s really good. I actually have a build if you wanna check it out. There’s a ton of infinite combos I put in and a lot of them have synergy with one another. K’rrik is just all around super powerful because he can pay life for each black in a cost, but at the same time you want stuff that give you life back, which is what a lot of my combos are about; or I pay life to kill someone, then get it back immediately. It’s pretty awesome.

that combo is completely off the wall but super impressive. Definitely not an easy thing to pilot thats for sure.
It's super difficult. There are a ton of tutors, and you have to think about what tutor at different times in the game. If you're not careful, you can get blown out.

@@andyik9009 seems like he's all in on the one combo. I run the top/reservoir combo in mine though.
I love watching K’rrik decks work. They’re such an exciting thing. And they encourage opponents to run things like Lightning Bolt, so they can really be a high risk deck. Super exciting.

Love k'rrik so much...its the cEDH I've had around the longest without ever taking apart, probably the deck I pilot the best too. Always gets underestimated at tables, but I think krrik is well positioned these days. He steals a lot of wins in the current meta

That k'rrik deck is definitely sweet as hell
K'rrik is my cEDH deck also. You were very fortunate that some of the other players played early threats before you that baited out their interaction. I've found that sometimes the deck can be TOO fast, which draws everyone's interaction to stop it, then the second-fastest deck swoops in and steals the win.
This is the second time I've heard someone cast Vile Entomber where it sounds like Violent Tumor.

The wheels from the Ramos player were really irresponsible. Allowed the K’rrik deck to win both games.
In hindsight, yes, but perhaps that was still the right path and the opponents just didn’t draw the right answers.
There wasn’t as much interaction in this game as normal I think
On top of that they swung ramps but not at the deck they JUST watched pay it's lifetotal to win? Very poor plays all around

imo wheel by itself has to be cast as early as possible to throw off gameplans. any later than turn 2 and you risk setting someone else up to win.

I always loved cEDH K'rrik. Feels appropriate for what black should be doing game-wise, and Chainer was always a pet card of mine.

issue is he is also looking for his wincons unfortunately ramos also didnt get any interaction to what the black deck was doing and krik found everything pretty quickly

Tbh that's just the dangers of wheels. I've been super low on wheels in general because of this.
A lot of games end because someone wheels and passes turn. Being down 3 Mana for the turn and giving the enemy's a fresh 21 is a real down side.
I'd much rather just play passive card draw engines to punish greedy decks and drown them in card advantage which is how I've been getting my wins lately.
I don't know what type of deck Ramos is but I'd pretty much only use wheels in greedy turbo decks. Even then you're running a huge risk in just passing wins over.
Based on the opening hands in game 2, K’rrik was probably screwed without that wheel

The "and amount" part in the ability text makes it clear.
Why would Zain attack Greg with Ramos when there is literally the definition of a greedy black deck next in turn order that wouldn't have won with 5 less life?
Because Greg had the most dominate boardstate. While also having damping sphere so they weren't expecting him to be able to storm through it as he has to entomb so many cards
Tables politics and agreements were made there with Zain. I wouldn’t Snuff Out his Ramos (and instead targeted Thrasios) if he didn’t attack me that turn.
I assume because Fonzie had a flying blocker?

nah, necrotic ooze was the gamewinning combo piece but k'rrik was the card that facilitated casting 5 ''free'' spells on turn 3 and then going infinite.
Yeah, I cringed a little bit at that windfall with necrotic ooze chilling out on the battlefield. Such a great card
In casual commander necrotic ooze has stopped everything from my marisi opponent going off to a turn 3 Vilis win that card is beautiful ( :
