    So.....I'm setting at Texas Motor Speedway....waiting for the rain to stop, so we can finish the NASCAR CUP race, this past weekend. The Big BOSS tv was programmed with alot of pre covid stuff. Back in the day, the speedway hadda group of hot ladies in Stetson hats and High heel cowboy boots, that just wandered around the garage, and brightened everybody's work day.Some of the programming involved these women....as I'm watching, I realize I recognize one of them...IT IS EMILY! Hadda look/watch for a couple times, as she had some "war paint" on. Thank you, ma'am, for once again brightening my day!

      Lol! Yup. That was an interesting job, the contract booked through my professional modeling agency- but not a normal booking I take. I’m not a fan of the ‘eye candy’ positions. But that one was too tempting getting to be around racing!!! A large art of me regrets the year long deal- but it was a lot of fun!

    Get this woman a throw down seat cushion lol, working on a lift and sitting on the floor. Cracks me up but also love to see her wrenching on her own car, hope she gives some women the drive to be more like her. Im sure you have it sorted way before now but damn, 11 pages of instructions for shock adjustments? My Viking DA coilovers had 3 pages and that was 2 too many😂
    The HF trailer we put together was missing steps 1-3 so we winged it and got it right, we broke 5-6 bolts then went to tractor supply and got grade 8 for the frame and spring bolts. After it was completed we stitch welded all the corners, cross braces and tongue to be sure it didnt ratttle apart 200 miles from home at 3:00 in the morning.

    I had the harbor freight version of that trailer. Took everything I threw at it like a champ. Best pulling trailer I have ever had. Only had one issue with the bearings but a set of buddy bearings solved that. The bearings and spindles are an odd size metric but I found them mail order. Finally gave it to a friend who loaded his entire household in it and pulled it 1200 miles to northern Virginia behind his minivan.he gave it to another guy and it's still rolling as far as I know.

    • @TheTalonts
      @TheTalonts Před 3 lety +1

      Crazy thing is, you can buy EVERY part of that trailer through HF and the parts are pretty cheap. I wanted to replace a hub and priced them out elsewhere and they were stupid expensive, then I looked up the trailer manual online, called HF up, and the prices were cheap enough that I bought BOTH hubs and a few other small parts for less than I had sourced the one hub elsewhere.

  • @IndianaTony
    @IndianaTony Před 3 lety

    I built the Harbor Freight equivalent of that trailer (looks exactly the same but red) and it went pretty well. It's a bit bouncy unloaded, but settles down with some weight on it. My biggest issue was actually registering it...my state makes that kind of a pain compared to some other states I think. Some other thoughts...it calls for 3/4 plywood which is fine, but it won't fold if anything is sticking above that, including bolts. I counterbored them and clearanced the corners to fit. I also didn't like the way the license plate would stick out and hit the wall when I tried to stand the folded trailer up. So I put it on a hinge that hangs off the rear crossmember so it will just swing out of the way. It should also have a better way of locking open and closed. It's dumb to have to do and undo and keep track of loose bolts that you have to put through the frame anytime you use it. So I want a better mechanism there. Likewise, it needs a way to lock closed for storage other than bungee cords. Essentially, they're workable trailers with lots of room for improvement.

    • @TheTalonts
      @TheTalonts Před 3 lety

      I still regret cutting the diamond plate aluminum I mounted on my HF folder - I've never folded it in 15 years! I should have left it in one piece until I was sure whether I was storing it inside or out.

    I used to work as a front end tech, done a few custom alignments.
    Sooo, I didn't see or hear about any settling for the suspension. When you put the car back on the ground you need to ideally have it on floating (alignment) plates bounce on that front end or back it out and pull back in to allow for a neutral position before checking ride height,
    I'm sure that you guys have a great alignment guy so he should be willing to double check height and alignment with you (or equivalent weight) in the car. Never really cared for red but have always liked Roxie !!
    Good luck with the racing !!

    One Lil thing though, fine measurements require a steel ruler, tape measure ends get loose over time and will give variations of up to and slightly over 1/8th inch.

    How old is the kid now? She's getting so big, I thought it was just a few episodes all she was sitting on top of the toolbox handing out tools to Emily.

    Unpacking a trailer. Next year it will have higher walls and a roof I can imagine.

    All your criticisms of the trailer kit are spot on. Cheap Chinese junk with bad instructions. I.ve experienced the same. Agree with all the other comments to weld it together and hope it actually survived a week of towing fully loaded. To be honest you could have shopped the internet and bought a used 4 x 6 enclosed trailer for about the same as you will spend after buying and modifying this thing.

    Don't you have an enclosed car hauling trailer?
