(big wall incoming) I think we all ended up concluding that the air mobility was a key factor on Ropeburn and that Koal was the superior pick overall, and even without having to deal with him myself the lack of extra move on copters compromised some stuff and I might've been able to hold my HQ otherwise. As for map read I was very unprepared and sorta the opposite of VoA in the sense that I really prepared for the first round and had no stamina left for the second 😅. Thankfully losing on the 2nd round only meant there was no triple tiebreaker so... no regrets? The game against Dream Aaron was also mildly interesting since the timeout was only around day 10, and he engaged me in the "fake front" that in prep I imagined would have at least some action, so that turned out a lot better for me along with my unit distribution across the fronts which gave me at least a temporary income lead, and I was very comfortable if that game kept going. As for the r1 game I don't think there's much more I can add, while I had the same initial 3b read with isolated airport, the game went on a completely different direction with my first attack and it shifted from me being behind tempo on corners to VoA having 3 inactive tanks for a few turns, followed by a lot of very intense tactical moments throughout the rest of the game. I think one of the more interesting aspects of it were the unit count swings, right before the base trade it was my only lead out of the big 3, then I had several sacs which evened that up and by the time I was defending my HQ i was down a fair amount (after even more sacs from me). Can't really put into words how fun the game was, but at this point it speaks for itself and I'm glad to hear VoA enjoyed it too, he definitely deserves all the praise and the trophy

A bit late getting around to this video, but as far as your structure goes I think your length and amount of analysis is the perfect balance between casters that just cover the map with minimal analysis in 30 minutes and the overwhelmingly comprehensive analysis that we get from Elagatua. However, I think I would prefer the finals to have each match in a separate video instead of all the matches on a map forming a 3 hour video.
@humita Vehicles in the real world include Aircrafts. So technically Battlecopters, Fighters, Bombers etc would all be considered vehicles. Even better, Naval units would also be considered vehicles in the real world. Advance Wars is kinda special this way. To be correct, vehicles should be called "land vehicles" in the CO Chart.
Love the video Though I think it would be better if you split matches into their own videos in the future. 1/ 2h is a bit long to watch in one go. 2/ You get more content out of your work (it brings me joy to see your video notification, so imagine seeing it 3 times for 3 matches over days !!) 3/ Maybe if you splitted it, you can show the name of the players on video title? (people won't miss a "Akasha vs Incuggarch", but probably won't click on "Amarriner Cup 1 Round 2"). Though this could be a downside since video names can be spoiler. Thank you for the video!!
Thanks! It is something that I think about very often, but there's a few reasons I think I'll keep the "all in one" approach for these tourney vids. 1- some matches aren't strong enough to have their standalone video, they either end too early or abruptly. 2- having the intro to the map once and then having multiple matches on it, vs having the same/similar intro to the map on multiple videos... At the end of the day, I think it holds a better structure if the whole round is on the same video, as you (as other people pointed out) get to witness different strats and tactics by different players on the same map, which I think it's super cool. Also yea spoiler-wise, it wouldn't affect on a Round-Robin setting, but would 100% be spoiler in a single-elimination bracket. I do appreciate the thoughts though!
Ropeburn sound unanimous and mysterious thing but actually it's just a AWBW map. Kinda funny most competitive map's names doesn't even related what's in the map so you have to directly look the map and memorize it to know what's coming up next.
I mean it's hard to name maps after their geographic features when they're all so hectic, it would need to be called "where four rivers meet" or something like that
Would you and/or any other content creators want to make a matchup spread video? I’m The Ghurd, ~1250 but I’ve beat some prestigious players. Some matchups I know very well (sturm, Rachel, grit) others I’d like to learn more (Von bolt, Jess, eagle)
Do you mean like "how to play this CO matchup" type of video? It does sound interesting but it's easy fall into overgeneralizing aspects or being too broad. Kinda hard to find a balance in the middle.
@@humita.channel my thoughts were to get in the weeds of every matchup in each tier, maybe throwing in some weird ones like how I think adder actually beats grit. But in essence it would be “Olaf: dittoes (whatever those are) favorable matchup against eagle. Even matchup with Sami, losing matchup against Max. Worst matchup, Andy. And then get into the weeds as to why. Ie. Winter fury should come up before lightening strike, eagle will be forced to hold LS till the following turn, damn near giving Olaf a second WF.
Even though its pretty fun to watch these extremely calculating pro players, I personally couldnt find any enjoyment playing these types of games. Like nothing happens, no major battles, no powers, boring bottom tier CO's, everything is played to perfection in the move planner. The other player resigning before anything happens because they are so good that they know they have already they lost.

Very good video, thanks Humita & VoA
Now time to wait for 2-3 more years before voa returns!
Great vid as always, keep up the top level coverage, whenever these top players have a match it's very inspiring

yeah, sometimes I gotta break these longer tournament series videos up over a day or two, but im definitely gonna finish watching it.
I had a lot of fun having lunch with this video this week. Great production. Congrats
Thanks for video and the exclusive interview with VoA

love the tournament series
I really like these types of videos. Shows different tactics and thought processes.

Wow top level games end without co powers being used or big brawls occuring
well... not so much a feature of top level games but rather this type of map 😅it's all about positioning!

On second thought, that would be a banger name

PS it would be super interesting to see the win ratio of each matchup if such info exist somewhere
I love these top tier games. Also lol @ koal on maps with so few roads
+move is just THAT good 😁

Why would grim not be good when this is a copter heavy map
Because he either gets zoned out positionally or first struck very easily by +move COs
