- Un-edited video of R&D inking session of a 4 color CMYK direct to plate photopolymer gravure to test the studio's new Piezography custom color gravure profiling system.
The photopolymer plates were imaged directly on an EPSON Pro 9900 printer using Piezography UltraHD Matte Black ink via a proprietary printer driver that dithers the image as if with aquatint. No screening or film were required. After printing, the plates are exposed directly to UV and then processed. The separations of the color image were devised using an R&D version of an in-house ICC profiling application. The finished print is designed to match the image on a calibrated computer display.
Oil based process color inks are being used to ink the plates prior to printing on an Ettan etching press.

I LOVE THE STUDIO!!
Amazing work!
i realize I'm kinda off topic but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Isaac Corey Try flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Rodrigo Grady definitely, have been using flixzone for years myself :)
@Rodrigo Grady Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it !
@Isaac Corey Glad I could help xD
is that some proper old world ska in the background? Maybe the Maytels>?
Yes! Old ska and rock steady from legendary Jamaica producer Sonia Pottinger mostly from late 60s and early 70s!
Maybe you could provide a bit of explanation about the entire process. At least an overview of the plate making part.
Here, I made this video for you: czcams.com/video/7ZrV_y14Df4/video.html
I was thinking more about that incredible four color process.
Yes, I missed the most important part, making the plate, bummer
You can see how that's done here: czcams.com/video/7ZrV_y14Df4/video.html
