8 years ago but mind blown today! Thank you so much ❤
You're so welcome!
This makes painting dimension much easier to understand. Thanks.
Brilliant ! I had suspected as much for the distant mountains but never heard/saw such a clear and simple explanation. Thank you so much !!!
Even now this video is an excellent tool for someone like me who is trying to learn atmospheric perspective. Thank you so much for this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for explaining this in a way that this old hippie-artist can understand. You used word-pictures along with the actual literal painting, the perfect way to keep a visual learner from ever forgetting! Well done!
Fantastic video! If I had seen this video years ago, it would had saved me lots of grief. Thanks again.
No problem! Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you Mark for a great explanation. I'm just starting to learn to paint at 55 years old and there's a lot to learn. But your videos help a lot!
Thanks for the video and your beautiful smile! 😊
😊 thank you
You are amazing!!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful lessons about to paint!! 🙏🏻🎨💕
Well this helped tremendously!! I hadn't painted in years and started a painting and couldn't figure out what was wrong ! I didn't want to show anyone to get an opinion because frankly..this is a memory I'm painting.. I didn't need any critics..lol ..this one is for me.. but thank you.. I think this is what I needed!
you are an excellent teacher I will be following your channel thanks for great demo!
I've watched a lot of " creating distance" this is the first video that made sense to me and answered my questions! Thank you!
Thank you! Such a helpful point of view and way of thinking things through. Appreciate you!
You are so welcome!
Brilliant video, it really made things a lot clearer for me. Thanks for sharing :-)
I have missed your posts on CZcams. Are you alright? I've prayed for you. It is so good to see you on here again. I doubt that I am the only one. You have many fans. I've watched your videos from afar in Arizona USA. Your videos are important to me because I am learning to paint water, especially tropical waters. However I do it in oils. Thanks so much for showing up again!
Explained clearly!
Thanks so much Lutfi R, and welcome to our CZcams membership :) Thanks for your support!
Amazing! Thank you so so much!!! Legend!
Clever! I'm new to acrylics been trying wc, aerial perspective they always say grey blue for distant hills etc but your explanation actually explains why it is so.
+Big C Cheers Big C. I like to keep things simple :) Cheers, Mar, W.
As a new painter, this was extremely helpful.
Excellent!
Brilliant video thank you. All th videos I've watched in the past just say less colour more grey, which works in some circumstances but this method seems to work 90% of the time.
Great video on perspective, Thankyou Mark
Thank you so much. I found this tutorial extremely helpful. This was always a small trouble area of mine! Thank again!
+James Norman Thanks James for your kind comments. Glad to be of assistance. Cheers, Mark W.
Thank you so much for your tips. it helps me a lot. God bless you.
You are so welcome!
Had a row of rocks w/ tiny trees behind them-trees looked terrible so I turned them into another row of rocks, couldn’t figure out how to make the new rocks look like they were behind the first row of rocks (instead of stacked on top) until I saw your video and voila-ty from a new painter-your method was so easily understood and u r right u have to play with the values a lil bit but it worked for me!!!!
That's great! Simple and effective right :)
Would appreciate seeing an oil painting tutorial using atmosphere or mist in the painting. Thanks.
Great suggestion! We're Explore Acrylics though, you may need to check an oil painting channel for the tutorial you're looking for :)
I like the color combinations. They mix well together.
Eric Hogan Thanks Eric Hogan. I like them too :) Cheers, Mark W.
Thank u sooo much for the video,it was of great help
great tip! how does this apply when its over cast or partially overcast? do you mix the tree color with the clouds or sky color?
If it's overcast, mix the tree colour with the cloud colour, however if the trees are in sunlight, mix the tree colour with the sky colour. Hope that makes sense :)
Thank you
Wow that is so cool...genius!
Thank you! Love it
Nice explain Mate. I am painting a beach scene in my Garage. Never art painted since school days. I will use this method. I’m thinking Sea Gulls. Close up is greys and whites. 100 meters back. Smaller. 200 meters back almost silhouette
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome colour tips.
Val Bisson Thanks Val Bisson :) Cheers, Mark W.
I'm currently binge watching all of your vids, they're fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Any chance of a how to paint clouds tutorial? I've painted hundreds and they all look bad. I'd love to paint a big fat rain cloud! P.s I've just invested in some atelier paints because you make them look great :)
+Cha Ra Thanks Cha Ra! You'll find heaps of information about painting clouds on the website at www.explore-acrylic-painting.com/how-to-paint-clouds.html Hope that helps, cheers Mark W.

THANK YOU!
Great video. Thank you from a new subscriber!
Excellent tutorial! Subscribed. All the best to you!
This is very helpful. Thank you :-)
what if ur backround is a very similar color as the object
Do you recommend against using the foreground colour and then glazing with the sky colour to move it to the background?
+jestermax Not at all - it's a great technique to use sometimes. Cheers, Mark W.
Do you find that you waste alot of paint? I see you have a lot going on on your 🎨 palette . I find myself having slot of anxiety when it comes to how much paint will I need . I always end up with too much or not enough and it’s frustrating
Hi, inevitably some paint gets wasted from time to time, but I'd rather have more paint out than not enough! My palette set up helps keep the paint mobile for quite a long time too.
very helpful
excellent
great tips mark
Shedz Channel thanks Ian Shedzy Shedmeister :)
