Garrick is a weak-willed dickhead, Danielle has just been emotionally abusing herself and has revenge feelings, Roberta is just trying to use them to make her own life more comfortable (which is probably the most understandable position but still not respectable). I thought I was the only one who noticed that about Danielleâs selection of the third wife. And Iâm assuming that behind the scenes, Danielle already spoke not so highly about Roberta to Lea which is why you see her reservations towards RobertaâŠ. The plan probably was that Roberta and Lea are so occupied with being down each otherâs throat (with the added âbenefitâ of revenge against Roberta) that it would âproveâ to garrett that plural relationships are not worth it.

As a person who has tried to be a third let me tell you, the couple sacrifices NOTHING, they usually expect you to be an addition without making you apart of the unit. You're the one that has to move & rearrange your life while they are just there & if things don't work out you're the one that suffers the lost.
This is not always true at all. I know if my husband wanted a serious third they would be part of the family. The part about moving may be true, I can't move because of my job but I wouldn't ask them to move either. This is why sadly some haven't worked in the past but if we found someone local it would work out great I think.

it really depends on the situation, none of that accurately sums up all poly groups. maybe your experience was bad, but that doesn't mean it's always bad. there's TONS of successful poly relationships out there who make sacrifices for each other and have a deep genuine connection. you make it sound like there's nothing to gain from it under any circumstances which just isn't true lol

Many of us would love to work less or not at all, but it should be individual choice, not pressured by partners. I think it's obvious to all of us that he just wants to be with Roberta and a lot of people are asking why he doesn't just leave. Consider this, he still loves Danielle but more so as a family member than as a lover. He knows if he leaves her she probably won't forgive him and it will ruin his relationship with Danielle and their children in a way that will never be fixed. Also he's scared Roberta will leave him as soon as she gets to the US. He's probably scared that she's only doing this to get a green card. That's why he's trying to impregnate her before she gets here. He wants her to be tied to him in a way she'll never be able to escape. If she leaves him he'll have nothing left to do except grovel at Danielle's feet and beg for her to take him back and even if she accepts she will always have the upper hand in the relationship which he does not want and Danielle knows this which is why she's punishing him by adding more people into the mix.

I work at a hospital and shes right when you work a 12hr shift you dont feel like catering to someone. An if she is a nurse as well I completely understand.
12 hrs isn't bad for a nurse. I should know I often pulled 16-18ish hr days and only one day off a week to get all my chores, shopping, etc done... I quit due to severe burn out
Honestly as a patient you nurses should be treated like queens when you go home. I was a MA patient before I got sick and the way nurses treated me while they took care of me helped me get good grades in my class. I had two that would pop quiz me on my medical terminology while I was in the hospital and explained what they were doing and even share their techniques. I remember when I went back my teachers were impressed. Much love & respect to you Angels in Scrubs.

The thing is Garrick and Bert are still in that honeymoon phase because of the long distance and crappy internet connection. They can't talk much so they really don't see any negative side of each other. So it still feels fresh and new. When you move in with someone, you get to see how they really are.

He looks defeated after Roberta is emotionally vacant hugging him and walking away, and instead of Danielle consoling him, she's more concerned about boundaries with Roberta. It's not love for Gerrick, it's control.
Leah seems far too normal for this relationship. She doesn't seem manipulative, gaslighting, illogical, controlling, etc. She keeps asking sensible questions and getting weird, dodgy answers. She also has reasonable expectations, which clearly is a red flag in Garrick's mind. Garrick, the walking red flag of a man himself.
Also, this is the only time Garrick and Danielle have genuinely agreed about something, that Leah needs to be a house servant for them.

Please don't bash something that may not be for you, polygamous relationships (or polyarmous relationships in general) can be be pretty ok if done right. Dannielle and Garrick are just a bad example because of the clear signs that they exhibit towards each other and towards other participants that they are not going about it the right way nor for the right reasons. Polyamory's main basis of a relationship is communication because of the many moving "parts" that are included, as shown by Lea when she continues to ask questions about the dynamic of Dannielle's and Garrick's relationship and talks about her expectations as well. Again, do not take take this bad example and try to run off and make a basic generalization that can come off as insensitive and close-minded. Respectfully.
