  • There is NO story like Bobby Robson's, for drama, romance and courage, and that's before we even come on to the football. So sitting down to speak to José Mourinho, Paul Gascoigne, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Pep Guardiola, Ronaldo and Terry Butcher to hear their personal stories about the Sir Bobby was exceptionally emotional.
Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager is in cinemas now.

Incredible that he spent just a year with Ronaldo but had such a huge impact on him

As an Ipswich Town and England fan, people can guess how I think about this wonderful manager, and person. I met him a couple of times in Ipswich and gave time to everyone. Even now, I get churned up when I see his BBC Sports Personality of the Year lifetime achievement ceremony.
Bless those who knew him and loved him.

Ipswich had already had success with Alf Ramsey but Robson created a wonderful team in the 70s and early 80s that was a major force in European football and played some wonderful stuff.

This is so beautiful & I don’t know why but ... it gets me every time - not the video but the figure he was, the respect he received & the love that he gave to his players. He bought & helped coach one of, if not the best striker in football. Many players cite Ronaldo as being the best because of what they saw in training (Zidane being one of them).
