You guys are CRUSHING IT!!! This video is blowing up and I'm so grateful. If we get to 3,000 likes on this video I'll wear a santa suit on a first ride review :D
Have you ever ridden an mt-07? I currently own one and wonder how the acceleration is vs. the yamaha. I like the supersport looks.
This is a very mature bike I just love HONDA
DukeOfDC I’m driving a CBR300R :D
Better not be just a hat! ;)
Jose Del Toro I do know the 650 4 cylinder from Honda has a much more usable power band. The mt 07 with the torquey 2 cylinder is really nice down low but not so much in the middle and especially no up high
08 cbr600rr, 30k miles and runs like it rolled off the factory floor yesterday. Honda makes great bikes that last
i just picked up my 2019 CBR500R as my first bike and i absolutely love it!
NinjaKiwiYuki Is a 500cc good starter bike or is it too much for a beginner?
Michaels 86 start on a 650, they’re good
@@michaelgonzalez2516 perfect size imo
I have a 2018 ninja 400 which is faster then a Honda 500 are cheaper. Smart Buy
Michaels 86 just take it slow for the first week, learn that friction zone and throttle control. You’ll be ok
To me the cbr650r seems like a great daily bike. Especially for someone like me who only has a bike and has no other option. It's comfortable, sporty, and it looks good! Plus I'm not a fan of two cylinder so the four cylinder is always a nice sound.
I have to say that your video rides/review are fantastic!! The on-bike video, audio and your comments while riding are superb!
My 1st bike 2018 Ninja 650. meeting all expectations, great low/mid torque with performance to meet/ exceed traffic in all conditions on all roads.Great to filter traffic and cruise at 70mph on faster roads whilst being able to overtake using higher speeds. EXCITES and puts smile on my face very time I ride it.
Putting a smile on your face is a huge factor! Glad you're enjoying it.
I just picked up my 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 400 from the dealer about five days ago, and I've already put about 300 miles on it. It's my first bike, and I'm in love with it. Great video, bro.
For the life of me, I can't decide between this and the 400 :(
Do I wanna swallow that 10k tag? Or have mercy on my wallet smh
@@Cal-El if it's your first bike maybe the Ninja400 is the way to go. Not because this bike would be too much for a beginner, per say, but the cost of doing business is way lower. And by doing business, I mean the inevitable wanting to sell for what you really wanted in the first place (i.e. more power or a super bike). You're gonna take a loss most likely so why not minimize that loss?
@@Cal-El I have a ninja 400. It's a great bike but the sound of it makes me wish I got something else. Get a used mt-07 and put an after market exhaust on it.
@@Cal-El test ride both.......and if you like the bigger bike as much or more, bite the bullet and pay the price, it will only cost you more in the long run if u get bored of the 400 after 6 months...........
Perfect way to start with the 400! I had a 300f and upgraded to a cbr500r. Move up as you feel comfortable
A 2019 cbr650r with 15kga lighter than stock and running 90hp to the wheel , perfect commute bike I must say 👌🤠
I would love to get a cbr650r for the A2 license in the UK, would it be a good idea even though i would have to restrict it?
@@lucaswright9053 100% I have a panigale now but I still miss that 650r everyday

Probably acquiring YZF-R3 next Spring (your review aiding my decision).

Yes and no. I prefer Yamahas and KTMs, but I couldn’t beat the prices I paid on those Honda’s. Crf my 1st bike, 300 wife’s first bike. Wife fell in love with the CTX, and I always wanted a Goldwing with all the fancy buttons. Grom fit me better than the Z125. I just recently picked up a KTM Duke 390. I love other brands, I just don’t like their prices.
Just found your channel and I love it! Just got my endorsement on Wednesday 10/30. I'm not riding anything at the moment. Hopefully I can get a machine during the winter at a reasonable price. Keep up the good work.
Hey dude! Currently riding a VFR1200F! Thanks for the awesome videos!! 👍
They also come in black and rare insane looking blue for some lucky countries...and Honda do have a genuine quickshifter also.
I like the looks of the exhaust. Normally I'm not a fan of those odd polygonal shaped cans but this one is so small and low it looks more integral to the overall lines of the bike. Really nice design.
These new 650s look soooo nice in person. I liked them in the videos and pics but when I saw them at the dealer, damn, they’re NICE.
This is a great review, and ride. This could be my next bike. It’s more than enough for the real world road/commute. Fantastic bike.
I just took delivery of my ice fluo 2019 Yamaha Mt-07 a week ago 😊😊😊
I ride a ktm duke 200. I've had it for more than a couple months now and so far it's been amazing. Wish ktm would start releasing below 300 cc bikes out there in the US so u could do a review of one of these. Love ur videos btw ❤
Bought a brand new 2013 ninja 300 when it first came out. Loved it for my first bike. Had it for 6 years just recently sold it to buy a big mower but hope to get a CBr650R in the future! It was a great bike. Had 0 issues with it.

neo one cool thanks man. I had supersports before and just got rid of my mt-07. I was thinking of buying one of these, mainly for commuting and some weekend riding.
@@josedeltoro7453 yeah should have a test ride, don't take my word.. but for me I use it everyday to commute from work and back. It's a little bit aggressive on posture but not so much, it's got a good balance in between.
neo one, how would you compare to my 06 cbr 600rr? I love my bike, but think that my gf would be more comfortable on the 650r, not to mention that dash and that look.
2018 ninja 650 about to hit 12k miles. I'm looking at getting another bike but love the ninja so much
I got a new 2019 cb300r last year as my first bike financed. I can say I already laid it down last year. I do have this bike on my mind so that’s why I’m here.
Glad I found this video, I just want to see you ride my old roads. I grew up in Euless but moved to NC a few years ago. I was actually the assistant manger at Cycle Gear in Bedford. Bought a 600RR at DFW Honda. The 650R is like the perfect sport bike for the street. You should have hit the loops at 183/360 to get rid of the chicken strips haha. Take it to Cresson and ECR.

Love the CBR650R. The Fireblade styling works very well and the build quality typical Honda great. The capabilities plentiful and value sky high. I agree, prefer this CBR over the also good Ninja 600.

I bought a 2019 Kawasaki Z650 back in April 2019.
Had my CBR650R for just over a week now and loving it. I have a mat black version. First thing to go was that tow bar on the back. Got a seat cowl which does help with the look of the back end also.
Hi Duke, only discovered you the other day and already subbed! I got my motorcycle licence yesterday and picked up a 2016 CBR500RA
2019 Honda CB1000. Love my Hondas 👌
2019 Ninja 400, here. It's my first. I'll never sell it.
Haha. I am giving you maximum 2 years and you will want something faster :)
Piotr Wilus If he does, he’ll go through the motions until he’s older and realize a 400 is perfect lol. He’s right not to sell it!
Calvin Darius After 7 months I see you’re back. I’m guessing you picked up a 400?
Same lol. I'm not selling mine. It's said to be a good beginner bike AND good LAST bike
I also have a Z400. It's an absolute blast on the twisties and it's so agile. I'm only looking to replace it because the engine revs too high on the highway for me to go explore places further away. I'm thinking about a Z900 which may be much more bike than I need, or a CBR650R
Love your channel my new favorite for bike reviews. Currently riding a 2019 Yamaha MT 09
2016 yamaha r3. It has full exhaust, sprint air filter, and Norton fab flash. It also has suspension and brake upgrades. Love your content!!!
KAWASAKI Z900 ABS 2019🔥❤ smooth and fast... (smooth criminal)😂
Man, the CBR650R is really really nice. It's got a little more going for it than my '19 Ninja 650 ABS, but this is my first motorcycle and I got the Ninja for $6800 plus tax, brand spankin' new! So I really can't complain. The CBR650R is quite a bit more $$. For the same money, one can get a '19 ZX6R, which I'd take over the CBR650R any day.
Great review though, thanks for sharing :)
That an amazing deal I paid most 6200 for my ninja 400 after dealer fees and they originally asked for 7k!
When you think about new riders end up paying more than folks who are ready to get into the 600cc. It should be the other way around lol
@@iiiEazyiii Yeah I wish I just got a cheap $2000 bike then sold it and got a used mt-09 for the same price as my ninja. I'm in college though and won't be able to upgrade for 3 years now because spent all my money on the 400. Still a great bike though.
Im riding a Kawasaki Versys 650 currently. Loads of fun and great for my hour long commute!
I bought this honda CBR650R as a first bike 1 month ago. 1,5k miles on it already and i really love it. Also this review made me subscribe :)
I was a little more conservative, for my first bike: cb300r
@@locatedeatar3642 Well i live in Quebec Canada, i had a 32 hours driving lesson before buying it and i live in the country with some pretty small town around. Im 35 y/o and not really looking at speeding, only riding around at normal speed. Im also 6'3'' and 190 lbs. I think 650 was a good start for me and should last longer than those small 300. I did looked at MT07, SV650, Ninja 650 but when i saw this bike in red in person, oh man i started to think that if i wasnt buying this one, i would want to trade for it so thats when i did realise it was the one :p (sorry for my english, i speak french)
@@ticopain im from Chile, my sis lives south of Toronto.
I am clear that there is an important difference in the type of roads, between the two countries, which makes more sense to have smaller motorcycles in my country.
I just bought that 2019 Ninja 650...and now I want the Honda...
As good as CBR650R is, it has such a small gas tank, the full range was about 140 miles or so during the recent weekend riding (One of my buddies recently got one). I know Ninja 650 easily covers up to 180 miles w. a full tank. For someone like me whose daily riding is easily 70 miles, it makes a difference. 😉 That is why I am upgrading Ninja 650 soon (from my Ninja 300) 😎☺️
@@Tobeon2 I get like 200 miles per tank, but the tank in the 650 is smaller than the cbr by 0.2. My commute is long as well, so that's why I picked it
@@Tobeon2 Yeah but that Inline 4 cylinder motor in the Honda in my opinion is superior and makes quite a bit more horsepower than the Ninja's 2 cylinder motor. (Almost 20 more horsepower)
The Honda also has better breaks, and a better suspension system.
Obviously its more expensive, but your getting what you pay for.
I haven't rode either bike, but on paper, the Honda is clearly the better performer. By the way the Honda has a larger tank than the Ninja so i dont quite understand what your going on about (15.4 litres vs 15 litres) The Ninja gets slightly better gas mileage which is why the Ninja can go longer on a full tank, But it has nothing to do with gas tank size.
@@BennyZ88 No doubt!! The smoothness of I4!!!! But then, at least $2500 more expensive too. If my commuting is not that long though, I would probably buy CBR650R!!
@@KillJoyHot I guess it is a gpm issue. I know CBR650R is smoother, but coming from Ninja 300, I know I will enjoy Ninja 650 a lot especially during my 10- 15 mins of daily highway riding!!

I got a 2018 Yamaha MT09, before that I had a 2017 Honda CB650F.
Tell me about your opinions on both. I like the sports tourer riding position. I had a cbr500r. Now deciding between cbr650f ($5.5k)or '17ninja 1000. ($7.5k). I'm feeling for 2k more I'm getting so much more
Matthew Schrader loved the CB650F, very easy, confidence inspiring and aktive riding position. Very comfortable, great 4 zyl. motor and sound.
On the MT09 I needed more time to develop some confidence, especially in the corners. After 3k km I really got used to it. It’s handling is much easier, especially in the city, and it has way more power than the Honda.
But the Honda had it’s place and was the right step for me, because it was easier to have fun with.
Just got a 2018 CB650F myself. Extremely fun. Too noob for the MT09 though. I've heard their throttle is especially touchy.
I only have a 50cc motorcycle 🙁. I wish I could experience driving sports bike someday

How is the acceleration on your bike? I have a mt-07 but really like the looks of this bike.
Jose Del Toro the acceleration is really smooth and nice. I am almost done breaking it in and has good throttle control. I test drove the GSXR and R6 before I drove this one. I was hooked once I took it off the lot.

Ninja 650 is not really comparable to the CBR650R. In my area, the CBR650R is around $2,000 more than a Ninja 650. Also, comparing a parallel-twin to an in-line is not exactly comparable. They both just happen to be 650mL.

Pastor Gainz I’m from Sydney. Just go to your local private mechanic in person. They don’t like to talk about it on the phone or online.
Surprised how many compare to the kawi 650 and comfort level, seems like the most reviews are saying it is more aggressive. Thanks for the review.
I LOVE UR REVIEWS THANKS FOR SHARING! IM LOOKING FORWARD TO UPGRADING TO THIS AS MY INTERMEDIATE LEVEL SPORT BIKE IN ABOUT A YEAR OR SO. ROCKING OUT WITH THAT CBR300R RIGHT NOW AND I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT! 💯🏍💕
IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! MOTORCYCLES ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL TO ME THAN CARS. CARS ARE AWESOME BUT MOTORCYCLES MAKE MY HEART SKIP A BEAT 😍🏍
Good review. Saw your fireblade video a long time ago. Can you talk about the powerband, brakes, handling, your height (bike looks pretty tall) and stock tires?
Nice review, I have an Indian Scout Bobber and a Honda CBR 300R. Fun stuff.
so this is my first video, but i ride a 2017 honda cbr500r, but i really like the 650, which is why i was taken to your video!
Just bought a cbr650r, looking forward to get it
I Don’t Own A Bike At The Moment But I Do Love The Honda CBR650R And I Hope To Own One Soon Absolutely Loving This Video Cheers Mate!!! 🤙🏻❤️
