Removing GM heater hose quick connect w/o the tool

this was on my 06 GMC sierra. no one online had a reasonable way except ordering the specific tool. This should be helpful.

LOL Awesome! I knew what I had to do but just didn't know what to use for a material and I already have my roofing van parked right next to my truck... With "ONLY" a hundred feet of trim coil already onboard. Right under my nose! Thanks ol' buddy!

What an amazing trick, used a scrap piece of aluminum gutter coil and off it came!!
