It's like writing. Someone's thesis may lack the topic sentence, or correct structure, or may sound confusing. But if you don't say that, it's not constructive criticism. If you instead just say "The thesis is mediocre." You both sound like a dick due to the connotation of the word mediocre (I know it literally means average but words can still have different interpreted meanings) and have failed to give any meaningful criticism. Because where is someone supposed to go from that? The root of feedback or constructive criticism is to help someone improve by pointing out where they went wrong or how to do better and saying something is mediocre really does neither. First of all, saying "I don't see how anyone could dislike this" or something along those lines ANYWHERE on the internet is going to attract trolls or a dissenting opinion. The sentence itself might as well be an invitation.
And second of all, the guy wasn't even that rude or hateful. He just said that he thought it was mediocre. If people can't handle even that much criticism, then you're not ready for the rest of the internet my dude. The guy even gave some pointers.
And third, as a musician, your music/performance WILL eventually be called mediocre. And that's completely okay! I'd rather have something I made be called lacking than be showered with praise! I won't be able to improve otherwise. Criticism can be helpful. An artist in any field should be able to take constructive criticism or risk becoming stagnant and arrogant.
Something truly negative would have been, "ugh why do you even bother playing, you suck", "so many talentless losers uploading their terrible playing in hopes of getting views", etc. I've seen people say even worse.

Fanchen was being arrogant in the replies with all of the "I'll show you what a good piece sounds like" and his first comment was an empty review but the hentai guy was pretty aggressive, even though Fanchen's first comment wasn't that bad. Anyways, I think all of this could be avoided changing the word "mediocre". Mediocre means average, normal, common but people use it way too much as an insult, so everyone thinks it means deficient, awful, bad and that was the original problem.
